While there’s no truth to the rumor that “CBS” ever stood for The Carol Burnett Show, for eleven seasons and 278 episodes, this star-studded extravaganza of sketch comedy, song and dance became entertainment central for the network and TV viewers. Burnett operated in a relaxed theater setting that allowed her to take questions, cut loose with her famous Tarzan yell and join fellow performers Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner to have a laugh or sing a song. The show received 25 Emmy Awards and eight Golden Globes, making it one of the most honored shows in television history.

God man wasn't it? It had my captivated the entire time, loved Andy's storytelling, absolutely second to none.
I would pay money to have a recording of him telling that story with his voice...... I've heard it a million times and even have a book (there are many books of this story) but up to now this is the best version read or heard in my humble opinion ❤
Carol's wardrobe was always so beautiful and her designer Bob Mackie was a genius.
It always fit her in a way you just can't find. Unless you want to pay a grand on a shirt. And so on

I love to see Carol’s dresses at the beginning of each episode and the one in this episode is my favorite so far! I grew up with a seamstress for a mom and learned to appreciate such things, despite my own “Plain Jane”-ness.
Minus Tim Conway as Mister Tudball, I think this is my favorite episode ever. Harvey was always a complete delight to watch. Can't say enough.wonderful things about Carol, Vicki and Lyle. I miss them all so much. My heart broke when Harvey then Tim died. And now Lyle. The world lost amazing talent and very nice.men. I pray for Carol and Vicki so they will live well and happy for many many more years. Thanks to the person/people for uploading these and God bless! ❤️🤗🙏

The childhood song Carol sang so beautifully, and heart-felt, touched me deeply, I relate to all of those memories…Sadly, most children today don’t experience these things…forced to grow up too soon, innocence lost in an increasingly crazy world. That said, this is the greatest variety show of all time, miss it! Love you Carol!

Carol I’m one of your most favorite fan & a long time fan of Andy Griffith. Your shows, Andy’s Show, I love Lucy etc I was brought up on. I still watch you & Andy Griffith w/Barney Fife. I’m soooo happy I have reruns & full episodes of you all. Vicki Lawrence what a great entertainer, singing dancing & is there anything she can’t do! I think not. Keep em coming u all. I’m 74 now & so thankful for the reruns of wholesome decent family shows, actors, singers, songwriters & even authors amongst everyone of u all.

Everything about it from the fabulous costumes to the star studded guests, the genius writers and the multi talented Harvey Korman. This may well have been the best TV show of all time. WOW.. Thank you so much for uploading these. I hope you are able and or willing to upload all the shows episodes ? I especially like episodes that I don't recognize or remember, what a treat !!! Oh God Harvey! Such a talent. No wonder Anne was a fan of him and showed the show to Mel Brooks. The last skit was like a Mel Brooks musical. Harvey was totally Gary Beach. I wonder how Harvey would have played in the Producers if it was made earlier in the 70s.

I am guessing that the show andy griffith was talking about when the lady in the audience told andy griffith "i heard you're having a new show on" (3:21) is the new andy griffith show which has aaron ruben as the writer of 1 episode and the new andy griffith show started in 1971. While this episode was broadcast in November 1969.

Brilliant episode and so gay: when #HarveyKorman dressed as the Fairy Godfather asks #AndyGriffith to marry him and Andy says 'no' , the Fairy Godfather says you're so 'square'. I love the use of that word. Way ahead of it's time!
