ROG ALLY SSD UPGRADE & CLOUD RECOVERY

  • This was one of the easiest installs ive ever done. ot was even easier than the steamdeck.
Cloud recovery made it even easier to get everything back up and running.
it takes about an hour with fast internet, and i recommend using a hub or dock that has ethernet so it has internet and you dont need to connect to wifi during the recovery process.

It's been a week or more trying to upgrade ssd and have not been able to do it. Saw a lot of you tube videos tried different methods and nothing works. Lots of errors console keeps looping on bios. Got bitlocker error etc. I went back to stock ssd and had no issues. Did upgrade in 319 & 322 Bios.

This was specific for me because i use a paid cloning software because i constantly am backing up complete systems on my virtual pinball machine and my different arcade machines, so i backup the entire systems once a year. Anyway, i recently purchased the Rog Ally/steam deck dock that also has a built in m.2 drive slot inside the actual dock.
Its awesome, i just cloned my entire internal ROG Ally 1TB drive to my new 4TB drive and it just booted up right as normal once installed.
Just letting you guys know if you happen to have access to cloneing software. Its so much easier then having to reinstall all the windows stuff etc all over again.
