Act of kindness helps elderly man honor late wife

- Bud Caldwell brings daisies to his wife's memorial bench as often as he can. But his ritual was obstructed when snow covered the path he took to the bench. That's when complete strangers stepped in to help clear the way for Caldwell. Steve Hartman reports.

Drove to see this bench after hearing the story on the news. What a beautiful story.
Sometimes a little kindness goes a long way. I look for things I can genuinely compliment people on. Sometimes someone will say, "You don't know how much I needed to hear that." Sometimes I make a new friend. The two guys shoveling the extra bit of walkway are as amazing as the man who paid for the bench and brings daisies.
Sometimes I start watching these emotional videos to run the gauntlet of emotion. I do it to remind myself that my emotion is still there after having been disconnected for oh so long.

As someone from Fondy who knew Mr. Bud personally, I’m very sad to say he passed away yesterday. He can take her all the daises he wants now, and Fond du Lac lost such a kindhearted warm man

Everyday I go to the tree we placed our youngest daughters ashes under. Everyday I sing to her the bedtime song I made for her when she was a baby. We lost her last year at only 26. No words! Toughest part of life is saying goodbye to the ones you love. God bless this man and may he one day be reunited with his wife.

Im crying omg, especially when he spoke at the last part. I'm praying to find someone in the future in the right time,who would love me like that and vice versa ofc. *Sighs* love.
Man, the more I watch the video's with a spouse that has passed...the more I cry for my dad's heart as my mom just passed 07/05/2019 and after 45 or more years with her, he finds himself lost and hurting so bad, and I can't even grasp how hard he is hurting as I have never had or lost that kind of love!!....

July 10th 2021 will mark 10 years that I've been taking care of my disabled grandfather, on that day 2011 my grandmother passed...So, I hopped in the car and went 600 miles from Denver to his house in rural kansas, and that's where I sit writing this today still takin care of him.
Let me tell you, I have no doubt in my mind that that simple act of shoveling - to show this man that other people SEE him and more important, see her - every day forward for the rest of his life he will not see the world the same.
I've always wondered if there are trolls that just click on every video and dislike it. I hope they find peace and serenity. Blessed are those who are emotionally moved by stories like this. Whatever you're going through right now, you're strong enough to preserve. You are loved and special to someone.
