  • this 2005 chevy cobalt was limited to 43 miles per hour. we scanned the check engine light and it had a code for a faulty throttle position sensor. we searched for a new sensor. apparently you can't buy just the sensor you have to buy the whole throttle body for this vehicle. we purchased the new throttlebody installed it and cleared the codes. now it works perfectly. you can clear the codes with a cheaper scanner as well to keep it cheap.

So would the X tool be all that's needed to re learn the throttle body sensor? Bc I read somewhere that it jas to be performed at the dealership which let's me know its gonna be expensive af and I would like to avoid that if at all possible

It definitely works for relearn of tps on the Chevy cobalts. This scanner has surprised me it does lots of things that are supposed to be dealer only. I have used it for a year and loved it so I bought the newer one the other day off of Amazon it does all the same stuff and more. I can also program key fobs and chip keys and I can make most vehicles with a exhaust filter that's becoming plugged force Regen and clean them out and save someone a pile of money that usually is a dealer only deal as well. Best part is if you have to buy one post up a add on FB or something and program 5 or 6 keys for people and it pays for it self. Good luck on your car if you have any questions how to do it let me know I'm happy to help any way I can.
