This was originally on a channel that started with a C, I just can’t remember the rest of the name so forgive me... this is a classic EAS video that has been on the internet for ages, and I posted it here when I saw the original uploader’s channel was closed. I thought it should be preserved, given how closely it took place prior to the September 11 attacks.
The music from this test is “Happy Jack (Underscore)” by Arch Bacon, and a user named Darma’s Music Archive posted it recently. I was always wondering where a full version of that song was, so go check that out. - Zábava

5 days later in NYC... No EAS Activation at all because the FCC wasn’t expecting this type of attack.
Nobody was, plus it would have been moot as the major networks jumped on the coverage as if it was as Presidential EAN.

It probably was also due to the eas lacking national alert capability meaning they would have to issue one for each individual area, they still should have issued something as anywhere could have been a target for flight 93

This is actually the best EAS test ever conducted in my opinion, because of the awesome relaxing music, combined with the live footage of the city. There should have been more tests like this one, I wish they still did them like this today, because the music must've calmed people down after the tones, which I get the feeling may have been intended.

The reason that the EAS system was not used on 9/11 was because the events were happening too fast.Also,they did not know what would happen next so they could not send the right alert

The comforting music and backround was a great idea for a test. A nice way to ease in and out of the screeches of the EAS alarm. And when the music started playing and the "Emergency Alert System Test" appeared on screen you knew what to expect before it happened.

There was an EAS on 9/11, there was a red screen and it sounded like George Bush Speaking. I was alive for it so don't say some crap saying I wasn't
lol I know you are lying. #1, you are too overly defensive for no reason, and #2 you have several videos "11 year old does drums". 2017-11 years = 2006. Also for you to have had some vague memory of it, you'd have to be at least 6 or 7, so you would had to have been born in 1994 at the latest. I was 9 in 2001 and I know for a fact that there was no EAS or broadcast system activated, period. All schools were evacuated, all flights grounded, and it was on every TV channel.

ezzyslays They’re was an attempt to activate it but but the government could not get a hold of FEMA. By the time they got a hold of them it was too late to warn people of the disasters
The reason why is that the attacks came without warning, and FEMA did not have enough time to transmit a warning message, as the attacks already happened.

I remember reading a comment on (IIRC) the original upload left by a former WBNX-TV employee who said that he went up onto the roof of the station building with a camera to film the background video.

The EAS Test System Scare Me To Death When I Was A Child.
Aired about a week before the September 11th 2001 attacks, and two months before the American Airlines Flight 587 crash.
Forgive me, but I have a real bad phobia when it comes to EAS tests. I was never afraid of the old EBS tones, but whenever they do EAS tests on a weekly basis during any show instead of commercials, it makes me both terrified and irritated. Worse if it's on the radio because they don't always say that this was only a test. When they do those "monthly tests", they always say that this was only a test.

There was no point in the EAS on 9/11 because news broadcasts brought the latest information as it was available and the stations could easily broadcast the president's speech on live news
1. EAS would have been activated if NORAD or local Airway saw it coming. EAS is specialist at Weather alerts (As well as scaring a dick to death)
2. EAS was activaited by EAN Silent test by mistake. Silent test is where EAS sends a actual EAN message in a closed circut enviroment.
