    How to Crochet a Scarf for Beginners (by Atreyu Crochet)
    Even though the Atreyu Crochet channel is for beginners, I think it's necessary to build upon the basics. The great thing about crocheting is that even the most complicated of patterns can still be broken down to the very basics of crocheting.
    Don't ever approach a crochet pattern with doubt. Simply break down the pattern and approach it one stitch at a time. If a stitch is foreign to you, then find a CZcams tutorial on it, learn the stitch, and resume with the pattern. Although our starting point is that of a beginner, it is also true that that is not our destination.
    Happy Crocheting! :)

      I pray you are doing good, Cindy. Stay with it, I had a stroke awhile back and for awhile I couldn't keep my crochet right or my stitches, but I stayed with it and now my brain has somehow remembered it and my crochet is right on again. So please do stay with it, and let us know how you are doing. Hugs.

    I wanted to come back to this video to see if you mentioned in the description what the stitch is called that you've used here, as I wasn't sure?
    I also wanted to take a moment to thank you for how well you explain the steps throughout your tutorials, you are one of the best teachers of crochet I have had the pleasure of watching. You're very calm and patient and have just the right balance of humour as well, so for that reason I think you were the first person I watched a video on to help me learn different crochet methods.
    I am 10 months in now from that time and have been wanting to attempt a more detailed granny square but feel it's a bit daunting at the moment, had hoped to make a shrug using one large granny square that gets built on afterwards. So that is why I came back to this video to find out which stitch you used to make this scarf please?

    • @AtreyuCrochet
      @AtreyuCrochet  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for the kind words! I don't remember the name of the stitch but a name isn't important. Once important is that you know how to make the stitch, which I detail out in the video. I have some granny square tutorials in a playlist. Check them out.

    • @alwayslearning9272
      @alwayslearning9272 Před 10 měsíci

      @@AtreyuCrochet It's lovely to hear back from you, thank you!
      While I agree to a point about what you said about knowing the name or not, the main reason is because I have been learning along the way that some stitches have more than one name but are done the same way, such as the Suzanne stitch and the Thicket stitch.
      So when people say they did a certain stitch for whatever it is that they're making I wanted to be able to familiarise myself with the different stitch names so I can recognise a stitch and have a way of differentiating between certain ones, so for that reason it's easier if you can refer to them by name.
      I will have a look at your granny square tutorials, am sure I'll learn more from watching those as well. Thanks :)

    Looks like a cozy scarf! What is the finished measurement (width and length)?

    • @AtreyuCrochet
      @AtreyuCrochet  Před 2 lety

      I don’t know. I didn’t measure it and it was a gift so it’s no longer in my possession. You should make yours suitable for you though.

    I love how the dc2tog looks as a pattern and not just a decrease stitch. Thank you, Sir! 😂

    I love this pattern. Do you have written instructions?

    • @AtreyuCrochet
      @AtreyuCrochet  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! And no, I don’t unfortunately. I usually don’t have time to write out instructions after making a video. The pattern is very simple though. Just follow along with the video. I give a tremendous amount of detail and instruction in my videos to make up for not having a written out pattern. I hope that helps! Happy holidays!

      Ok. Thanks a lot. Yes, you do give very detailed instructions for all of your patterns. I hope you and yours have a very merry Christmas.

    You showed the yarn that you are using, but I need to know how much yards do you need.

      If you click on the link in the description which I pointed out at the beginning of the video, it will take you to the yarn, which will include the yardage.

    Is it okay to make a mini blanket out of this pattern?

    Did you use “2 “ balls of Bernat Pop?

    I have 14 square crochet pieces( which are curved from centre and have corners) made by someone else. Now I want to make blanket by using them but don't know how to do. Can you help me with this? Any ideas?

    • @AtreyuCrochet
      @AtreyuCrochet  Před 2 lety

      It might be easier to just start over. My grandmother would always make me take it out and get it right, no matter how many times it took.
      That being said, you could try to connect the pieces using the slip stitch. I have a video showing how to connect granny squares on the channel.
