    awesome content for the most underrated cae software. HW contains lots of unique tools which make cae engineers fascinated. Hope to see that our eng. community show the esteem it deserves.

      Thanks! Agreed, HW is underrated as of now. The reason might be the steep learning curve!
      Maybe this new interface will make it easier for new FEA users to start working on all these unique tools available in the software.

      @@Aeroswap exactly. This user friendly interface and Altair's free ebooks, tutorials, user guides are really enough to be an expert in their softwares and leave you alone just with a huge amount of hardwork:)

    Excellent job in introducing the new UI and also starting this "learning" series. Simple yet impactful and the most direct content on Hyperworks on the Internet. Keep it up 👍

    Good an simple explanation.
    I worked with the new GUI a bit, but what I think is missing in the geometry creation are constrains for these types of "sketches" e.g. to define two lines are perpendicular. I also miss a basic dimensioning tool that allows you to edit your model based on the sketchings. Long story short: The geometry tools dont replace a basic designing program.

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, you are right. These geometry tools are far from competing against CAD software in the market. But we must keep in mind that Hyperworks is a CAE software and not a CAD software. It can perform operations which a traditional CAD software cannot.
      Point is, geometry modeling may have been introduced in the new interface, but it is not the prime focus. The CAE tools are more important and currently, Hyperworks is surely an industry leader in that aspect !

    HI, when i open hyperworks on the top left corner it is showing acu solve instead of opistruct why is that?

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hey there,
      HyperWorks is a solver neutral pre and post processor. You need to change the user profile to 'Optistruct' before starting the analysis setup. This can be done using the 'User profile' option in the ribbon.
      I hope this helps.

    Hi Aeroswap, how do we change the dimension units in Altair Hyperworks? Since I am quite new to Altair Hyperworks.

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Daniel, Hyperworks is not a CAD software hence you will not be able to change dimension values like it is done in CAD software like Solidworks/Catia.
      You need to open the geometry tool again and select the shape to edit its dimensions.

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 2 lety +1

      Hypermesh and Hyperworks is exactly the same. The only difference is the user interface, rest all features are same in both software.
      Since the last 3 months, we have completely migrated to Hyperworks. Every new tutorial on this channel will now be posted using Hyperworks, and not Hypermesh.
      I hope that answers your questions!

    Is it necessary to import the complex geometry from solid work or we can create in hyperwork as well

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 3 lety +1

      You can create it in Hyperworks. However, doing it in Solidworks would be much faster as more CAD editing tools are available in that software.

    • @angelaso8411
      @angelaso8411 Před 2 lety

      I assume he is using Hyperworks 2021. There is an effort from Altair to combine the pre-processing (e.g. Hypermesh), solver (e.g. Optistruct) and post-processing (e.g. Hyperview) tools into one more user friendy package called Hyperworks. Good decision in my opinion, as it makes the workflow more streamlined and user friendly.
