  • Nationals Leader David Littleproud says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Energy Minister Chris Bowen have been queried over the costs of their “all-renewables approach”.
“This is where I think we have asked not only the Prime Minister but Chris Bowen in parliament this week about what are the actual genuine cost of their all-renewables approach,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“We will be upfront … about what the costs are for nuclear, but we already have some of those numbers out.”

@@aup10wake up mate. Did you even listen to what he said? Nuclear will cost a fraction of Labor’s 100% renewables con and last 4 times longer. Nuclear will also bring back manufacturing to help build back our economy and provide cheap reliable zero emissions base load energy to consumers. There are multiple wins for Australia with an energy mix that includes nuclear. The one thing any government must do however in order to achieve any of this is increase the use of our own coal to fill the gap until we can build enough nuclear to take over. 😎👊👍🇦🇺

@@galacticnemesis366 The only thing galactic about you is the space in your head. Firstly you claim nuclear will be a fraction of the cost. Based on what cost calculations? There are none. Zero. Seven reactors will cost roughly 100 billion. If you boost the numbers of reactors for each site, this can add up to 500 billion. And guess what genius, the projected output at best is estimated to be around five to 10 percent of our overall energy mix! This mean renewable will still be required, so the bill for this won't go away. We will be paying a massive amount, all tax funded by us, for some base load supply. I'm would suggest batteries will be far cheaper for this purpose.

One problem with relying entirely on ‘renewables’ such as solar and wind is the intermittent nature of it.
It also doesn’t address the possibility of a worldwide natural disaster like an asteroid strike or a massive volcanic eruption ( or nuclear war ) that would negate solar power completely.
Nuclear power plants and natural gas plants would be the only thing sustaining civilisation producing life sustaining heat from which to grow food produce. Billions would surely perish but why should all Australians?

This approval “has effect until 30 June 2069”. And on Tuesday the department approved the Atlas stage 3 gas project in Queensland out to June 2080. Let our government be more concerned with farmers that are disappearing , food shortages, housing for every Australian, businesses are closing down because of costs, charities are crumbling and all the while the politicians get a hefty pay rise , they have no worries about their bills because it’s paid by taxpayers.
Then the only power plant Australia has just blew up and the backup broke down as well because of budget cuts to the plant 😳 and they think having 24 more of them is cost efficient for all Australians and they couldn’t maintain just one ??
