    Very nice. I make my own prepoos. I just use oils, aloe and herbs. Massage my poor dry yet psoriasis scalp. Comb it down then wash out. I have one a make with salicylic acid then I’ll let it sit on my scalp for a bit. Especially if I’m having a flair up. I got that idea from a head and shoulders scalp cream ingredient list. Works pretty good. I wonder if what you made will work for kinky curly hair as a regular rinse out conditioner.

Or we need to dilute bit of preparation in water and then measure? This method doesn't seem to be accurate...not sure why those PH strips with their not accurate mesauring even exist if everyone is saying, PH is very important.

    • @sensimania
      @sensimania Před 3 lety

      The gum is for thickening the formula. You don't have to use that particular gum, but you would need to use something to thicken the formula.
      If you don't want to use guar gum, you could Google different types of thickening agents and experiment with them

    • @pamoutaf
      @pamoutaf Před 4 lety +1

      I'm taking the liberty to give my opinion but I would think so, although you would get a thicker product I think bc cocoa is a lot stiffer than coconut oil. And also, Cocoa butter doesn't penetrate your hair like Coconut Oil does so I personally wouldn't substitute it :) Sunflower oil is another great oil for the hair that really penetrates the hair shaft!

    Why would you shampoo out a mask? Your taking all the good stuff back out of your hair and shampoo can dry it out. Generally the way mask work is you shampoo first, put on the mask for a few hours, rinse out and go. 😊

      Sharon Salzano I know it sounds totally counterintuitive, doesn’t it?! But as a fellow fine-haired lass, I can attest to what Marie is saying.
      There’s actually a ton of pre-shampoo masks available commercially so there is a market there, albeit perhaps more niche than a traditional mask. They’re really more about strengthening and protecting your hair vs moisturizing per se which is one of the main benefits of a “final step” hair mask.
      I’ve used some commercial ones before - here’ are some examples if you’re interested. They’re usually marketed as “pre-shampoo treatments” to avoid confusion but a lot of them are essentially just richer masks and w/ ingredients that penetrate the hair shaft (like coconut oil in Marie’s formulation) so some of the goodness you’re putting on remains post-shampoo:
      www.rankandstyle.com/top-10-list/best-pre-shampoo-treatments
