  • I did a brief overview of my new SCAG Turf Tiger II. I also did the 1st oil change and found out the oil valve is very hard to get to. I had to take the oil filter off first, then I was able to some what reach the plug screw. Its been HOT here in PA!

    You have been the only person to post a video simply showing how to oil change this motor. Thank you sir

    I use the drain plug on the other side. Works good.

    I’ve just recently figured out that I can use a 1/4” ratchet with a 10mm socket and it will fit in there with the oil filter still on.

      Thank you. Doing mine tomorrow. I will take your advice and use a 1/4 inch swivel head ratchet and 10mm socket. First time oil change. I'm going to try and put a piece of rubber hose on the drain port. It looks like a piece of 1/2 inch ID should do the trick.

      Yeah, mine was a last minute decision. My Exmark broke down and had to go into the shop and I didn't have another mower. well, I went to the dealer and said give me the biggest, baddest mower you got and walk out the door with this beast! Thank you for watching! I will be posting a 100 hour review here within the next few weeks, its at 92 hours now.

    I thought they had the oil Gard system on all those. I just ordered one and I was assuming it had that.

    • @Thelawnguy94
      @Thelawnguy94  Před 3 lety +1

      Oil Guard system is offered through Vangaurd as an add on feature, which will cost you extra money. This mower I didn't custom order, just picked it up from the dealer as is. I am getting a chute blocker for it though. Would highly recommend getting one for yours.

      @@Thelawnguy94 Ferris, and Snapper Pro ( owened by Briggs and Stratton) are the only ones you will see the Oil Guard System on the Vanguards. And the suspension seat is standard on the Turf Tiger 2..

    Husband feels Briggs/Vanguard isn't to blame, but Scag is. Scag shoved the already designed engine in their design. 🤷‍♀
    Has anyone replaced the oil drain plug? A mechanic told me a bolt loosens the engine enabling a lift providing just the right amount of clearance to replace plug/o ring (have an oil leak). He said you access it from above, not from the underside. Any insight would be appreciated. thanks!

    Great video buddy. Wanted to know where in pa you live is non Cecil county maryland. I have a radius ex mark. Now I am thinking of getting same mower. Wanted to Also know how much it was ?

      Hey Tim,
      Sorry for the late response, I had to shut down my company due to the economy. I use to pick up Cecil County recycle with waste industries now know a GFL. I currently live in Manchester PA about 26 miles from PA/MD line on 83. I have no complaints with the Scag. I'm a first responder so I got a discount for that, but it was 15k new.

    Do you still have this mower. I'm considering a 2020 same exact model with 1200 hours. Looks to be in good shape still.
    Not sure who had it, but I'm guessing whoever had it took care of it. Put a new chute on it, and installed the LED lights.
    They want 6900 for it. I'm not sure what to do. Do or did you enjoy this machine?

    • @Thelawnguy94
      @Thelawnguy94  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I no longer have this machine. But, do you have a business or have alot of grass to mow?

    • @tigergreg8
      @tigergreg8 Před 2 měsíci

      @@Thelawnguy94 Are you asking me that because of the amount of hours on the mower. I have a Farm with around a couple acres to mow every week. Do you think that this price point is poor for the hours of the mower. I'm on the cusp of knowing what to do. I want a mower that mows fast, I may have a small field to do once ever few months or more.

    • @Thelawnguy94
      @Thelawnguy94  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Thelawnguy94 I tried to get in there with a standard metal strap oil wrench but it’s super tight and wasn’t able to get it on. I looks for the type that attaches to my socket wrench but I’ve either gotten one that is to small or too large. I just bought a 3” off amazon and I’m hoping that works, as I wasn’t sure what mm that would work.

      I had to use a filter wrench the first time. The second was much easier but I still needed the wrench because I couldn’t fit my hand in there to turn it. Also I use the drain plug on the left hand side.
