How to Attach a Backplate and Wing

- If you occasionally switch between doubles and singles, you can configure your backplate to attach to a single tank by adding two tank straps threaded through the tank strap slots of the backplate. Note that when a traditional metal backplate is off the tank, the wing will hang loose on on the straps. This is cosmetic and does not otherwise cause problems, but if you wish you can use two plastic assembly screws to hold the wing against the backplate. Omitting the STA also reduces weight.

Why assembly screws are not recomended? Can't understand the reason

great tutorial. Curious which tank straps are in the video? Building my bp/w now, but still need to buy tank straps? And are there any specific model tank straps which are more user-friendly or just plain superior to other models? Thanks!

I just assembled mine, but it seems the bottom tank straps going through the backplate block the openings for the waist cam band, any thoughts?
Plates and wings are not always perfectly interchangeable among brands. When the brand of the wing and plate are mismatched, a single-tank adapter may be required. More information at ...

If using a standard continuous webbing harness on the plate, make sure you have threaded the shoulder straps correctly, they shouldn't block the tank strap slots. See www.divegearexpress.com/library/articles/harness-assembly-instructions

Found this hard to follow. Too fast, music should be replaced with instructional narration, and would be helpful to show which side of buckles and straps go up or down without having to pause and rewind numerous times while squinting at the screen.
Our more recent instructional videos are intended for all audiences including our many non-english speaking customers, so omitting audio narration in a single language is intentional. We let the video tell the story, for written documentation see our website. The fast pace is also intended to reduce the file sizes for those viewers with limited bandwidth or paid data plans as well as viewers who simply prefer a fast pace; as you point out it's possible pause and rewind if needed.
