Here is a short quick video showing an unbelievable hammock knot that is by far the most simplest that can be seen! Not only used for hanging hammocks but pulling stuck vehicles! You can't miss this tip done by Jim Schroeder!
I watch your video every spring just to make sure I remembered your knot correctly. Thanks!
So glad it has been a help!
me to😀
Best hammock tying video I’ve ever found, I’ve been using this way for years
My son and myself went for a over night camp and he only had short lengths of parachute cord for his hammock, I know hundreds of knots but he is one of those blokes who cannot learn to tie a simple knot, and does not have the spare cash to buy hammock straps.
This one way worked as described and he has even remembered how to tie it.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you gentlemen!! I'm going hammock camping for the first time! I'm gonna need to know a good knot, so thank you very much, God bless!!😊
You are welcome!
Every holiday I search for this CZcams for my hammock. Perfect easy knot
Great video!! I am from Central America... Hats off to you guys, this is an amazing method and I have been using this knot for years now.
I've used this one over and over and will share thanks!
I am so glad it's been such a help!
Don’t ever take this post down! I now use it all the time to remind me how to do my rope for my hammock! Brilliant! Easy to take down too! ❤️❤️❤️
I looked at a number of ridiculously complicated knots online before seeing this. At first believed it was too simple to work, but you proved me wrong. Thank you!
where are you guys from? Brazil?
all the way from Germany I watched this. It is great.
Thank you! Thank you! So simple, yet so effective!!
I spent so much time and money buying Whoopie Slings, Double rap rings, webbing, etc. but I think this is just far better. It has adjustability, ease of setup, ease of take down, and it uses a knot I've been using all of my life. Had I seen this video first before I spent a hundred dollars on extra hammock gear, I could've saved myself a lot of time and money.
This knot requires a double rope, and i guess would not work with amsteel, i bet your whoopie slings are much lighter, then two pieces of rope you would have to carry with you to use this knot ;) Becket hitch does the same and requires 2x times less rope
Here is another easiest hammock knot: czcams.com/video/hSKGg91nLRQ/video.html
This knot is the easiest way of hanging a hammock. Thank you gentlemen for sharing such a quick and simple technique to hanging a hammock! Well done!
It's amazing how simple compared to the other hammock knots on youtube
I've used this knot several times. It is amazing how well it works! Love it, and I've found many uses for it.
For supporting a hammock there's nothing easier or more simple. Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome!
Thank you gentlemen for the easy to use knot that I just used on my hammock. Much appreciated
This really saved me. A friend and I watched 5-6 videos and made no progress for like 40mins and then we watched this video and were done in 5 mins. Thanks!
Thats awesome to hear!
The easiest and best knot ever. I am truly grateful.
I’ve used this knot for years now. So I could bring my hammock to beaches and everywhere this is the best way to tie a hammock wherever you want.
That's right!
I used your technique today and my hammock was set up quickly and it was so comfortable. Thank you.
Move over Whoopie Slings! Love it!!
This is the most wholesome video I’ve seen in ages. I learned something from both of you.
Just did this in my little apartment back yard using straps--works like a charm, and super quick and easy! Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I have had a hammock for years but have never hung it up as I thought it would require some serious hardware - and I didn't want to drill holes and put up hooks in a rental house. Just did your hammock knot - took me about 2mins and I lay in the hammock for the first time - awesome!!! And I love how easy it is to adjust the height :) Thanks again :)
so easy a little old lady can do it! Wahoo! Thank you Denis for the film and Jim for the knot! Wonderful!
Watched this and just went out and tried it. BRILLIANT!
I have watched loads of videos trying to figure out how to hang my hammock. This is so easy and it really works. Thanks guys.
Wow so simple, I'm definetly going to give it a try! Thank you for sharing with us!👍
(Not me looking for a safe knot tutorial after having the rope untie on me and falling on my butt twice in a row)
Great knot video! Finally I find one for my 'HOOK' condition, I don't have poles or tree trunks, like most videos here assume you have - your knot is simple and practical - thanks much
You are absolutely welcome!
A video that endures the test of time. Thanks for helping me set up my hammock
You are welcome!
Excellent! Pulled trucks out with this knot, you say? Doubly excellent!! Never too old to learn something new. Thanks to both of you, and thanks for sharing. God Bless....
I fell on my hammock then watch tons of knot tie for hammock then i watch this. Save time and money the best way and easiest way
Excellent knot, thank you for that :)
A simple option but in my opinion the best solution. Fantastic!!
I've spent countless mornings fumbling with rope with frozen fingers, bought expensive suspension systems, and this is the only way that works - and it's almost effortless! I will be using the crap out of this and directing others here.
How the **** have i not figured this out yet. Tested it an doesn't slip at all and unties with almost no effort. I will be using the hell out of this!
+Matthew Blankenship Ahahah... glad you will be able to use it!
yup this is the exact video i found on the internet after i got my first hammock, i tried to hand it up myself with random knots and made a mess, found this video and taught several friends and even showed a few this video. We all us this when we camp with our hammocks. Great video
Just got my first hammock and I was a little worried about setup since I've always been terrible with knots, but this video was really helpful. Thank you!
Simple and effective, superb 👍
MOST EXCELLENT ! Thanks!!
You are welcome!
Thanks for the great knot tip. new to the hammock World. Anything to make it easy.
AMAZINGLT SIMPLE! (duh. can't believe i could not think of it.) Will save me money I was about to spend! I am hanging 2 tree swings AND a hammock with this, and also a birdbath. LOVE YOU!!!
Dennis is jokes 😂you can tell he's a legend to be around. Good video lads
I will try and keep my legend hanging up there if it doesnt slip!
One hammock successfully installed, thanks for the help!
UNBELIEVABLE!!! So simple, yet so effective
Damn. Ultra easy. Thanks from Philippines
You are welcome my friend!
Wow! This knot was easy to execute and VERY effective. So glad I found this video. Thanks a bunch guys! :-)
I have had this slip with smooth webbing or Paracord, but if you wrap through the loop a second time first, it holds fine without the extra knot.
Interesting! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Dennis & Thanks 2 ur friend 2 i was giving a hammock now with your help i am @ ease now gonna try it all out in my yard Thanks again.
Just tried this, worked great with webbing too!
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this was so simple and i was having allot of trouble tying a knot and this was sooooo easy! thanks :)
Been looking at various ideas and systems people use for hammock hanging and many seem like they might indeed be simple and quick after doing it often enough to gain a kind of muscle memory of the technique. But I think you have "broken the code" so to speak. This IS simple and appears effective, the biggest concern everyone mentions is the take down portion specifically knots etc that won't bind up from pressure. I can see your method would not, so we've got simple, quick, secure AND ease of tear down. (and adjustment). I will give this a try, it looks like the solution. Thanks guys.
Incredible! 🙌 , "top-notch" 😇.
Awesome lesson, thank you!
Thank you. Excellent video, thiswill be my new way of hanging my hammocks!!!!
Just un-tied my hammock and used the knot in this video.. Undoing my original knots took sometime. However this new know was up and going in no time. It allowed me to adjust the level quickly and I mean quickly. Thanks again. guys!
Definitely going to be using this! Thanks so much for the tip!!
Great knot so simple, thanks from Dublin 👍
Thank you so much for taking time to make this video! Amazingly simple and effective.
You are Welcome!
To simple to think of it! Thanks guys that helps alot. Truly efective
I was just about to buy some atlas straps till I saw this. I believe you've saved me a few bucks, thanks!!
+Sheryl P I am so glad to know that! Your are welcome!
Thanks a lot Denis. I swear, back when I started doing hammocks I was using a cheap $5 hammock with crappy rope, and I hung just fine. Then I see all this stupidity making the system now complex with webbing, hardware, the ridge lines, and all sorts of unnecessary junk that cost hundreds of dollars.
Your video reminded me that less is more and going back to basics trumps sophisticated expensive systems any day of the week.
I started spending more because I wanted a convenient lightweight adjustable system. My old system was not adjustable. But with this knot I can use my old system again and be adjustable. Thanks!
Works like a charm.
You guys rock!
Also very entertaining to watch. ^^
That was awesome! Just what i was looking for and so easy! You guys rock! xoxox
Fantastic!
Wow! It is so simple, i Will use It. Thanks.
That was amazing! ...thank you Denis ...
Ahahah! Thanx! You gotta check out the other one we did in Portuguese! ahahah czcams.com/video/GriT7UK984Y/video.html
Thank you so much!!!! It worked like a charm!!!
amazing! the power of the internet!
thanks guys!
This is so good
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Nice and easy
el titulo no me defraudo. facil y rapido!!!
the title did not disappoint me. easy and fast!
It worked, thank you!
Handy simple
Securing a hammock to a tree with ropes....? You're going to get us all in trouble. LOL
haha, as long as we keep hanging in there we will be just fine!
That is so rad!
Damn, that's a good knot.
Sweet! Thanks guys
Awesome. I've been using a taut line hitch at one end for hanging the hammock but this looks simpler! With the taut line I've had to throw on an extra half-hitch when using nylon rope, so maybe and extra overhand would be useful here when using nylon rope?
Amazing! Thx so much!
lolololol 😀 lolololol
As easy as that, so bloody simple yet so effective.
Various knots have been especially created for such things and then you come along.... lmao 😁😁😁
I've seen it I've tried it and I trust it and I still don't believe it. Nice real nice!!😉
very good and easy, thanks :)
Cool knot if you're ropes are big enough. With small diameter ropes the overhands will be very difficult to undo
Or you could use one overhand, then seal it with a bight so it's easy to undo.
Goooooodddd Man!!! :-)))
Love you Guys!!
So good!
Cool video. I tried this knot and busted my ass on the ground. Thanks.
Sorry about that! Did you do a square knot?
LOL, ok. Hope you get it right the next time!
Thanks so much!
scary but must try
Just give it a shot one inch from the ground... ;)
@@Crowareh it was fast and grate..
Thanks
bossman with a bossknot
Best ever!
Awesome, thank you mate
you are certainly welcome!
Very cool
Ace knot
to tie it around a pole, small tree, or large tree you would have to cut the rope to appropriate length... that's not ideal every time you come across a different diameter tree.
Thanks, this is simple and genius.
is this how you did this in the Navy?
What would the name of the knot be?
the one where he doubled up is called a square knot.
roflmyeggoproduction that's like the hardest knot ever.... jk
It is a square knot Denis.
He sold it
amazimg
Awesome! Is this in Brazil?
yes!
***** Sorry to ask but what region? You live here?
Imperatriz, Maranhão
***** Cool! Y'all live and work there and everything? it's pretty uncommon to see north americans actually moving to Brazil...
Missionaries...i am a 3rd generation Missionary and my Grandparents came to Brazil in the '50s...i was born here in Brazil and grew up here most of my life...that guy in the video is a good Missionary friend of ours... =)
