You present a strong argument for me to SUP foil rather than prone foil. We have similar conditions here on the TX gulf coast, gradual depth, good reform, and disorganized and very weak swells.

Whatever works… for me it’s all about work to reward ratio. As long as your having fun is the main thing

Dude I’m down. Getting my gear together here in Ottawa County MI . Will have to come visit and learn from the master. New to this game, avid athlete. Actually shaping my first wing which keeps me busy dreaming about down winding. Thx for being a trailblazer on the water. Got my sub

Good thoughts! My local conditions are similar-disorganized beach break. I can prone foil, but it's tricky in the really weak stuff. I've been thinking about getting a SUP/DW foil board to take advantage of even the smallest surf. The only problem is I don't have much SUP experience...

With the SUP, you get on the waves earlier and I think get more rides per session. Theres a reason why SUP's shouldnt be at local surf breaks, and people hating it.... Just got to practice and youll get the SUP!!

@@michaelpisarczyk6465 Do you think I can suffer through the SUP beginner stage with a DW foil board on flat water? Or do you recommend starting with a regular SUP, or maybe a short and wide foil SUP?

If your already foiling and have water experience I think forsure could start off with a larger DW board. Do a couple flat water sessions to start with. Go for it! 🤙

Great video! What do you think about maybe going for a KT Dragonly 7"4 105L (sup on beach breaks in small slightly messy conditions) for a 70kg rider that can already SUP surf pretty well? I noticed you have a 105L board but it is shorter and wider than the KT Dragonfly

Oh ya I think that would work great. I’m 170 lbs. 77 kg. Plus fresh water and full wetsuit weight. So you should have more then enough.

How many sessions did it take you to get to this level?
I grew up on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria, and these conditions look very similar to there. Nobody is doing this over there.

Hey! Thats cool Black Sea would love to see it one day.
Hard to put a timeline on it. Been windsurfing kiting sailing surfing playing on the water for 25 years. For this specific discipline been playing around with it for 4 years. Maybe around 20 sessions per year.

Is sup foiling near the coast easier than dw foiling? Asking because I have no real sup experience but it seems more efficient in the lightest of conditions than prone foiling

I’d say yes because there’s actually breaking waves another thing is there’s no consequence if you can’t get up on Foil you’re close to shore. You can definitely get on smaller waves on a downwind board compared to a Prone Foil

@@michaelpisarczyk6465 do you think it is possible to learn to sup foil surf with a downwind board (having no real sup experience but decent winging skills), or will I need a wider board for extra stability?

I think if you got a large DW SUP board. Approx. 50-60 litres above ur body weight you could forsure
