#88 Loader Snow/Ice Removal: Trying Something New

- Since I thought Winter was over I had made the Spring Switch. Loader on and snowblower packed away. Then came the snow and ice storm March 2024. We lost power for 18 hours and left us a mess to clean up. I've been wanting to try PVC on the front of the bucket to eliminate scraping of the asphalt. Here's how it all went.
Good Day Sir, that is an OUTSTANDING Snow tractor therapy and nice try on your item !!! Be Well Cheers !!!
Thanks Dave it was all fun even if it failed.
@@BeginnerforBSeries FAIL = First Attent In Learning !!! ; )
@@RCAFpolarexpress very true😉
For some reason I didn't get a notification about this video. I was thinking about doing my switch over last weekend but I'm glad I held off.
Would have definitely preferred the blower but it was some good seat time.
Hey Dave I have the same tractor setup here in gilmanton. I have the same problem as you as I have changed over to summer mode. And now Mother Nature is doing it to us again lol. What a weird winter you just gotta laugh 😅 happy snow removal tmrw or Friday
Hi Dennis! We are neighbors! I caved and put the blower back on. Don't have the time bucket it out before work so ... Back to Winter mode. Stay safe my friend.
Nice work Dave!
Thanks Buddy
Dave! Thats bull! We got snow but it melted thankfully. But thats more than i want to see. I wouldn't be putting the blower back on my tractor out of spite!
😅 I didn't either. Just refuse to go backwards.
@@BeginnerforBSeries also, people drill 2 small holes in each end and attach a ratchet strap to the top of the bucket to hold it in place.
@@RossOnTheLand ahhh... Where were you 12 hours ago? 😆
@@BeginnerforBSeries bahaha! Sorry.
Hey Dave, I wouldn't have put it back on either out of principal!! lol The one true downfall of the front blower is the dance between the blower and the fel. Always good to try new things and fun trial. If that doesn't make you appreciate either a blade or blower nothing will. Thanks for sharing Dave,
Thanks! I had to cave and put it back on for this Nor'Esster. I'm glad I did. Think we ended up with 18 inches of heavy wet and wind blown.
I'm debating if I should take my blower off, we are going to get some milder weather this week but that's the type of storm we usually get at this time of the year, we got a big one back on April 6th 2016 and I said to myself "take the blower off after April 6th" 😂. Have a great week Dave 🙋🏼♂
Thanks Luc. I'm boycotting the blower now. 😅

Take it out of float when your trying to push those piles
Took a few times, Tony. Eventually figured it out. Thanks!
PVC pipe is used for gravel driveways
Seems to work well on tar also. Nice work Dave
If your driveway is paved why are you using the PVC pipe??
I'm sure you are right, Joe. It does scrape up the pavement though and I've left some gouges too. Thought this might take care of that. 🤷
