Infinite Lives cheat for James Pond II - Codename Robocod on the Mega Drive / Genesis (plus more)

Here are some cheats for James Pond II - Codename Robocod for the Mega Drive/Genesis.
The cheats include, infinite lives, invincibility and a level select.
There is also a sound test option.
The cheat works with the USA, European and Japanese regions of the game.

Anyone know why after you complete both bottom doors, you can get wings in the home area? I get the wings but dont know what to do with them. I fly to the top of the castle and not found anything

I think there are some collectables in areas that are difficult to reach without the wings in the sports levels; there's a guide here that mentions the wings gamefaqs.gamespot.com/genesis/586251-james-pond-ii-codename-robocod/faqs/26774
They might help with the hidden train level where the stage autoscrolls, you can access the level from the home screen (with all the doors), skip the first two doors, go up the stairs, then climb up using the mouths until you see a roof to the right, jump onto the roof but then walk left as if falling down and you should enter the stage. I'm not sure how long the wings last it's been a while since I've played it.
