If you don't know what sonic games is it's a website on google with tons of sonic games which is how i was able to play sonic 2 without a Genesis/ Mega Drive

The sound effects are quite funny and the game itself is pretty basic; even though it's based on older game, it could have been better ☺

Hi, I found that confusing to understand at first, glad you got it working. I am planning a video about how to get files on there, I'm hoping to sort that this week. I've also been planning a longer, detailed, video about MAME in general.

I had the game back in the day and I recently decided to buy another sagamega drive and CD rom and I bought the above game I had the chests back then but forgot them. I went on line but the cheat code didn't work..lucky when I went on CZcams I seen yours different from the one I went on line . Yours was spot on and easy to follow..brought back happy memories seeing each level..many thanks again mate.🙂👍

Hi, I just retested this today with several different ROM versions and it still works. It used to work with my original Mega Drive as well. Perhaps check the sounds again? :-)

Hi, I haven't tested it as I don't have a Japanese Mega Drive but the ROM is a 'world' ROM (same in all regions) so it should work.

Hi, if you are copying an empty folder to another folder with the same name (that has files), it should not remove the files from the folder (it should only add any if they exist). However I would make sure to have a backup of the files just in-case.

@@digituba Hi thank you I tried this and backed up first to make a test.....and indeed it didn't delete the contents very impressed I did this on a Mac and it decided to replace the folder with the same folder (name) but it wiped all contents!!! don't do this on a Mac people ;)

@@ady2416 Ah, glad it worked :-) And good to know about the issue in Mac OS, that's a bit worrying. I think Linux acts the same as Windows; or it will ask if you want to Merge the files depending on version.

@@digituba yeh I tried a few times to see if I did something wrong but I'm pretty confident it wipes all content regardless of taking into account updates etc so aggressive and strange you mentioned linux!!! only 3 days ago I'm looking into switching!!! but it was confusing at first with the amount of distros ! lol

@@ady2416 I switched a few years ago. I'm currently using Fedora which is like Mac OS. Otherwise you might want to try Mint which is like Windows. The great thing is, you can always try a different distro if there's something you don't like :-)

Hi, after you hear the ring sound press Start. Then it will return to the SEGA logo and eventually the title screen. Once on the title screen hold down A and (while holding A) press Start.

Hi, this game will load in NTSC mode as it is for a Japanese console. Check your TV supports NTSC, otherwise you will see a grayscale image and most likely some distortion. You should not convert the .bin and cue. Burn the image using the cue file as a disc image. If you are playing in the emulator just drag the cue file into PCSX2's window.

Hi, I created the sl folder to separate the ROMs, I keep the 'sl' folder with MAME. I place the sl ROMs into the 'sl' folder. MAME will recognise sl roms inside the main 'roms' folder, but if you scan that folder with a standard dat using clrmamepro it will remove the sl roms. So by separating their locations you can scan for the main 'roms' folder and then another scan using dats for just the sl roms. You just need to add the additional sl folder as a path in MAME's settings (you can add several paths). I have been thinking of creating a new MAME video that explains more of this in detail.

Hi, I don't have a GameCube controller to test, but I think holding button A and pressing Start should work. The only other two buttons you could try are B and X on the GameCube controller.
