I feel really lucky to have lived and grown up in the age of Anton Newcombe. He's probably the most incredibly talented musician and creative artists breathing air, and to see him still doing his thing is awesome. I've been saying this since seeing BJM in the early 90s...I can't wait to hear his next song!

Love you, Anton. You're a fucking genius and like Prince, so far ahead of our time that it will take decades to take your full measure as an artist. It's a minor miracle that you're still with us in the flesh, so hard was your life in earlier stages. I hope that like Keith Richards you cannot be killed with conventional weapons. Rock on, brother, and I look forward to seeing you in concert and buying your records any time and every time it's possible.

1:10-1:45 is a great statement, all musicians want to aspire to be something but it can seem impossible to reach! BJM is brilliant and very talented but they sell the sizzle, they provide a particular feeling “a mood”........ that competes with the very best of musicians.

I find it interesting that the interviewer makes the assumption that A. N. was not disciplined before he became a family man. As I discover the consistent high quality in his (and the BJM) considerable body of work through the years, I can only conclude that he and his collaborators were primarily dedicated to their craft.
