If time it shows that the bmw wngine can reliably make +1000, +2000 hp like the 2jz, would you then consider it a supra? It for sure would've been nicer that toyota did the engine.
I definitely agree. The A90 is a decent car, but it's not a Supra. I've had these debates many times and I always get hit with "Stock MKV is faster than a stock MKIV", no shit - after 30 years you'd certainly hope it would be faster, but it's not fast enough, not even close. Like you said, MKIV is still king and I guess there's a part of me that's happy that the MKV is not it. MKV for me would be a more modern, wider, agressive MKIV shape with a 3JZ. If they made that I'm sure I'd be looking at my MKIV and thinking I need to "upgrade", which is kinda sad because we pour so much time and money into these older cars. But I don't, I don't even compare the MKV they gave us with my car, it's irrelevant to me. I just wish they didn't call it a Supra. If they didn't want to spend the money to do the Supra right, then make a new model, don't grab a BMW and put a Supra badge on it for cheap marketing hype.
