Dean seems not to understand the problem. It is not that English teams have not been fit enough it is because they are not used to suffering enough for the greater cause. This suffering is what gives teams the edge that somehow takes them over the line. Can you just imagine how much more difficult it would have been to get our troops out of the trench to face the German machine guns if they had been overly comfortable where they were in their front-line trench? The army deliberately makes the troops suffer for no apparent reason precisely for this kind of reason. Mankind is far more motivated by the avoidance of suffering than by the pleasure of winning, or any other form of pleasure.

Argentina don't, Morocco don't and France don't Even England don't really press...what works at club level doesn't work at international level.

England have always had players from any era that could do well in a world cup. You even go back to Graham Taylor and I can't believe there wasn't a 11 or a squad there, under the right tactics that couldn't take England to least a quarter final.
Like George Graham was doing at Arsenal, who took Arsenal to an incredible 2-years cup winners' cup run.
George Graham proved under the right tactics and mentality England could've qualified for the USA.
If Morocco, Iceland, Wales could do it, then why couldn't Taylor's England? We've always made excuses.
Unfortunately English coaches have failed. And we got a couple of foreign coaches and they also failed.
What England need is a manager who has international experience...
There's got to be some managers out there that are not in a job. Unfortunately that has to come from a foreign coach because there's no English manager with great international experience.

If capello had the run ins that Southgate had in the last 2 tournaments then we would have won at least 1 of those. If you think differently then you're clueless

It's funny how Nationalism is such a dirty word unless it's football, it must be a real thorn in the side of Globalists or Progressives, this game that makes so much money flying in the face of the one-size-fits-all world they seek to build, but whether you like it or not that sense of homeland and belonging resonates far harder than their propaganda, take those who don't like 'Colonials' in England shirts, lazy journalism has always painted those who feel that way as racist, as if it exposes some deep hatred of black people etc. but it isn't, it's the knowing of compromise, knowing you haven't got an indiginous player giving his all for his country but a player whose home is England but underneath their heart is (rightly) somewhere else, whether you like it or not 'heritage' is as relevant now as it's always been and it only takes a Capello to rub men against the grain to display it
