I see that sillyness of yours, while you're working on this you're being yourself and you're not afraid to show it, this one turned out great and i hope this new series really picks up since you worked hard on it as well
I personally think the sillyness and jokes are a bit too much and therefore I unsubscribed. This video especially felt like it was mostly about jokes and remarks rather than drawing. He has mad skills though!
I've been an Arteza fan for a bit and I gotta say, love their new brush nibs. Got two sets with brush nibs and they were both balanced in color selection and fun to work with.
I get Ohuhu is yer fav but I think you'd like the skintone set from Arteza

I'm loving this series already. I have the ohuhu markers and a few copics/spectrum noir/etc. and I really do keep coming back to these. they are super nice..... and... replaceable nibs. I just love that part. Love your channel and keep up with all the fun!
I think the ohuhu's are better but I like the way the arteza's look more (except the yellow), that and I think the struggle you had blending the jacket actually makes it look nice lol
I agree i got Arteza when i first started, but blending was always tricky. Ohuhu are now my favourite cheap brand

My vote is Ohuhu.
I know they aren't quite your thing, but I'd love to see a comparison of the Ohuhu's and Faber Castell's Pitt Dual Markers... Also, you doing several comparisons of the Ohuhu Kaala had me look at the price and, well, yeah, I'll be ordering some, because $135 CAD ~including~ GST for 168 markers is just too tempting, doubly so because I've been curious about alcohol markers but the thought of spending something like $600 CAD for 72 Copic Sketch markers is difficult to swallow... Whereas the Ohuhu Kaala are pretty much right in that butter zone of almost being cheap enough to get on a single cheque's hobbying budget, which makes it a lot easier to justify...
Moderately worried the Ohuhu Kaala chisel tips will be something I won't like (I'm fairly used to brushes thanks to mini painting), however I like the design that their "Slim Broad Tip" (as their marketing describes it) appears to be ever so versatile. I'm only worried about the chisel-like tips because, well, I rather don't like the Copic Sketch chisel nib.

i do think though, that the buying structure (?) is important too when discussing, what is better. Already Arteza not having a singles option (or this weird 4-pack variant) is a huge factor to consider. But i can also understand, that going in depth on packs/single and prices can go quite deep in detail (and eat up time).
So I take it this series will focus on (just) the performance of the markers themselves? What about different papers (like a few swatches on different common papers? could end up being a nice collage at the end to hold the swatches next to each other of different papers and different brands...)
while i personally dont use markers, based on this video, Ohuhu is the winner, with a distance. (i give them the credit, as from my understanding Ohuhu is (mostly) a marker-brand with a few years expierence and arteza is more an all rounder-brand and im not too sure, how long they have been on the marker-market. Wouldnt surprise me though, if Arteza is going to improve in the future (already coming out with a brush-nip is widening their range, so we will see.))
This series will focus on extra things I failed to include here (as I wanted to test the waters of the new format).
I will be testing how Markers work on other surfaces, combines with pencils, other brands etc.
Artezas 4 pen plan does make sense, it's more cost to send a single marker I believe, but it's certainly unusual to have a system like that.

Hi ADC! I have both, and I do like the Ohuhu Honolulu markers much better. I think the Arteza markers have problems blending with some colors more than others, and it really depends on the paper you are using. Bristol smooth is my favorite or X-press It cardstock. Great series! I look forward to seeing the rest!

Speaking of cheap markers, I actually found a bunch of marker sets at Action over the past couple months, which came to, iirc, about 40c per marker. And they're alcohol markers with a brush and a bullet nib. I couldn't really believe the price but they really really surprised me. I ended up buying as many sets as I could find and now I have like 80-100 colours to use, with only a handful of doubles because some sets included the same colour. Afaik Action buys a lot of their stock from producers directly so they can offer stuff for pretty cheap. I think the brand is deocart or something. But man. If if could afford/find Windsor and newton brush markers in ALL the colours, I'd be the happiest person alive. I have a few of them from sales and they're so amazing.
I constantly gush to my friends about ohuhu and recommend them over Copics any day 💕

It would have been, But I had NO idea I had them, nor that I was using the wrong set LOL. They're identical, I completely forgot Ohuhu had them. (I have way too many pens)

I've seen others use the Ohuhu markers over the years. More recently a tiktoker got some free and like 2 or 3 to give away so I told myself before even watching that you'd be picking the Ohuhu as the winner lol. I really knew it when you complained the other markers weren't blending correctly even when you said nevermind just because some of them did blend.

Just a piece of advice if a brand doesn't blend well then you have to do the blending so fast that while you are doing it the ink is still wet otherwise you will have no luck with blending
