  • A shovelhead with a clutchless suicide shift. This bike is so fun to ride. I didn't think it would work but it works really good. Now you don't have to worry about stopping at a light on a hill. You have a clutch but you don't have to push or pull it in.

wrong . The EFM unit attaches to the stock clutch. Its not automatic. It simply disangages the clutch at idle. Uses a system of ball and ramp. centrificel force moves the balls outward on a ramp as the RPM increases and engages the clutch. At idle the balls fall back down its not engaged. Look at the EFM website

@@JohnLivings Actually John way back they were called side shifters because the shifter actually was on the side of the gas tank. Then when folks took the shifter of the tank and mounted the shifter directly to the transmission with a short throw shifter handle then the term jockey shifter came into play because just as a Jockey reaches down to whip his horse in the withers to get it to move riders would reach down or back to shift the transmission. The term full suicide or suicide shifter is the term used when you have a foot clutch not on a rocker pedal, a hand shifter, no front brake, no front fender, and generally a rigid frame and a springer. Thats what is known a full suicide guys that that just go with the foot clutch and hand shifter adapted the term suicide shifter when in fact hand shift and foot clutch was stock on the early bikes so really nothing new, suicidal, or dangerous about it. My 49 Servicar is full suicide as well as my current ride. Started riding when I was 15 on my 49 and today at age 69 besides the 49 I am riding a rigid with a 131ci motor with a bored out super G with a thunderjet, baker 6 speed with the N1 conversion, handshift, hydraulic foot clutch, springer front end, no front brake, no front fender, internal throttle so no levers or switches on the bars except a 3/8 flush mount horn button on the left and a 3/8 flush mount on/off engine switch on the right. Thunderheader exhaust. Old Bates style headlight with the high beam indicator in the housing and the switch for the bright light in the headlight housing as well. although the frame came with a VIN# on it where I am at and because i built and put the bike together you can 1 time only request a 0 VIN which means instead of registering it as a Special Construction Bike which compels you to have all of the DOT required lights and so forth for the year you are initially registering it in when newly built you can one time only declare the 0 VIN and pick whatever year you want. so in my case 1952 so no daytime running lights, no turn signals, no red and amber side reflectors. Just headlight/high beam, brakelight/tailight and horn. And yes i ride anywhere and everywhere.
In close i would just like to say I am not under 50, I am not a dipshit, and I dont go to Starbucks and at the end of the day wind is wind i build what i want ride what I want just as Drew is doing his bike his taste and the way he wants it. There is always somebody out there who is going to bitch because of a pair of apes, or billet wheels, or a springer or whatever but who cares why would I want to build my bike to somebody elses taste and if you really want to hear bitching build one exactly like the one they have and really hear the bitching volume go up. but honestly John if you are going to make fun of folks for using a different term for a hand shifter and in the same breath call an original stock set up a suicide shifter then would you not be a dipshit yourself for using the wrong terminology yourself? full Suicide is more than just a foot clutch and a hand shift. or would you call a spool on the front wheel a suicide wheel?

The type of motorcycle no fool would take a driving test for his motorcycle license on. Imagine trying to weave through cones on this narrow-gauge tractor. Ugh!
Side note: the mark of an amateur motorcycle rider ... is they drag a foot while making tight turns, like this bozo does.
A real motorcyclist only takes his feet off the pegs when he comes to a stop. It shows discipline and confidence.

It's an unfamiliar bike that's not his personal ride so don't see a problem putting safety first rather than dropping it. Of course I'm not an expert like you obviously are. 😑
