I agree 100%. When I first saw the video for To Love Somebody I was floored. Barry Gibb was 21 yrs at the time. He and Andy had similar styles in writing and performing. Andy and Barry were very close. Losing Andy almost broke Barry.

His tragic death was a wake up call. Life is so fragile. Broken heart, drugs and alcohol contributed to his heart failure at a very young age.

I always believed Andy's broken heart led to his addictions and death, very sad story...he was so young!!

@Beth Meyers never heard that till you Beth, I only heard she was a cold fish with Andy. Are you sure?? It is so sad, the term "wasted talent" fits Andy as his talent would have evolved as he got older with his big brothers, true musical geniuses. I only saw Andy on stage once with his brothers singing "you should be dancing", the clips are in other reactions and the video itself. Barry's the last one and the interview he did fairly recently was heartbreaking, seeing him cry with the pain of losing ALL his brothers that he performed with since the 60s and was so close with, including his baby brother and that together they wrote some of Andy's best music. He's still tours with his brothers kids singing their fathers notes, with the big screen behind them seeing the Bee Gees in their prime singing the same song Barry and their kids are doing at that moment. I haven't the slightest idea how he's able to keep it together. You can have all the money in the world and it will never fill the void in his heart with the loss of all his brothers, thank God he has a wife that truly loves him.
@@dominicksforza3484 Yes. She's right. I watched an interview with Barry Gibb. He said Victoria couldn't take Andy's drug addiction. She gave him an ultimatum. He chose the drugs but was inconsolable over losing Victoria. He did eventually get clean but died from myocarditis.
@@lynnhathaway3755 I always felt she unfairly took the blame for his drug use and his death. One of his problems was he always felt he was famous because of his brother's. He felt he was constantly in their shadow, since Barry wrote all his songs.
@@dalehoward3704 I can definitely see that happening. Apparently Barry was very... I don't know the correct word to use. Possessive? Controlling? of his brothers. He was not happy when they split off to do solo projects. It probably stems from being the oldest and needing to protect them when they were younger. He kind of hints that their father was not a warm or supportive man (abusive?). He also said that when each brother died it was during a time when they had argued with him and so were not on speaking terms. Families are so complicated and how sad to lose these wonderful singers.
I had such a HUGE crush on him when I was a young teen! He was also the unofficial 4th BeeGee and was slated to start tiring with his brothers before his death at age 30. RIP Andy 👼

The Bee Gees were at the top of the charts then they helped Andy write his album which knocked them off the top of the chart.
I was lucky enough to meet Andy in 1983. He was adorable and a very sweet guy.

I'm so glad you reacted to this! Andy's older brother Barry Gibb that was in the Bee Gees was my first ever crush but the first time I saw Andy he became my #1 crush! I was 13 when he passed and I was so shocked. To this day anytime I hear or see Andy it makes me sad because he was so young and his life was cut so short. He was such a kind and gentle soul. Please look up one of his old interviews here on CZcams. You will see how precious he really was!

Oh my gosh, this was my first celebrity crush. When he did it was claimed to be a suicide and then they switched it as if the usage of the drugs side effects of his heart was the evidence of death. Rumor of his sadness was he was so in love with Victoria Principal ex-girlfriend..

Honestly, I couldn't get over how much Andy sounds Like Berry when he sung also Andy had been in a relationship with the actress Victoria Principe who starred on the television show Dallas as Pam Ewing.

Barry is the only brother still living and I saw a video where he says that his biggest regret is that when each brother passed it was during a time they weren't getting along well....😔

That is super cool! I tried to get out of the annual family vacation at Grandma’s to go with my best friend to that concert. My parents weren’t having it though. I was so heartbroken 💔. I loved Grandma, but come on, it was Andy & Barry!

I had such a huge crush on Andy which got even bigger after seeing him in concert. He had the looks, the talent, and the support of his brothers, The Bee Gees. (Pronounced just like the letters, B G s, only spelled out.) The drugs took their toll, and sadly, he was gone way too soon. RIP Andy.

He was the baby brother of the BEE GEES! Bee Gees wrote, produced, and sang back-up on his records. A lot of people loved Andy, and I saw him as Bee Gees -lite. Looks like brother Barry and tried hard to sound like him too, but he didnt quite pull it off. They are all passed now except for Barry who is now recording and playing with his kids and Niece Samantha. PLEASE react to the Bee Gees! Then you will hear what I mean about Bee Gees lite.

Andy Gibb along with his older twin brothers Maurice and Robin suffered the same genetic birth defect. Part of their intestines was inflamed and it affected their hearts. Maurice actually died of a massive heart attack while on the table to correct the problem. Robin and emergency surgery and survived until he passed from cancer.

Andy was my favorite of the brother's Gibb. He was very talented in his own right he was a solo artist no one can take anything from him period. Sadly he passed away at 30 yrs young. He was oh so hotttt and smooth he could melt butter. Andy had some issues but who in the hell doesn't if you are honest about it. We all fall short at times. She did have him but she broke his heart Victoria Principal messed him up emotionally. Awesome reaction.
