I have had small and large RVs, advantages to all, it really does depend on what YOU WANT, don't let anyone talk you out of a Camper, but remember to first identify the type of travel YOU want to do. On a sunny nice day at a place with public baths, you cannot beat a class "B", but when I was in the Florida Keys and it rained for 3 days straight and all the events were cancelled, it sucked! My current large RV is harder to travel with, but when things aren't going well, it is easier on my psychologically, it is hard to beat the larger bed & bathroom. Plus, if you are traveling WITH someone, having separate spaces to "get away" from each other is PRICELESS... LOL

I think the electrical/power system and the holding tanks are possibly the most important elements in a van. The further and longer you want to go back into nature the more important they become. A quick reference to those specs would be helpful. Example the Revel falls short in those areas. Otherwise thank you for the great video super well done and helpful and you do some amazing van builds at your place:)

I have, only by accident, found one. Yes, The 2019 170" WB 4x4 Sprinter. I cost way too much, but I am only a guy, who wanted nothing but this vehicle. It is being built out now (done, hopefully by Feb 2020) but I have to admit, for a fraction of what I am spending on the van and then the build out, I could have had a serious C class with everything already done. Buyers remorse, yeah, sure. But in the end I got what I really wanted. I hope you folks out there thinking of doing the same thing know that this is not really a 4x4 rock crawler and I only get 33% up on the front wheels when in 4 wheel low. 4 wheel high is really nothing more than "all wheel drive". I think I made the right decision but please do your research. You may find that it is just not worth what it takes to make it look like this video. In my heart, I hope it was worth it. We shall see. I will keep you posted.

The ingenuity in the design of some of these is amazing. Unfortunately, I am in the U.S. and most of these vans are only available to those out in the 'free world.'

There is a problem with your sound system at your end, the sound was fine for a short time as the video was continuing to play, then the sound stopped as the video continued to play and then it started back up the sound as the video continued to play??

I have a converted Nissan NV200. The build is very similar to a VW California Ocean, just on a smaller scale.
Since you asked, and you said *dream* , it would either be an *Unimog* or an *Action Mobile Globe Cruiser* . Now, if either of those don't qualify as a *campervan* , I'd be quite happy with a *Winnebago Revel* .
I tell you what reds custom designs he could build a ProMaster and build it out for $10,000 that's what solar and everything but a bathroom I think that's pretty good price and that's included buying the ProMaster van for about let's just say 30 mm high top van and he charges $10,000 to do the renovation and it really is pretty nice check it out for yourself

At a glance that Fiat doesn’t look like a 4x4 to me.. difficult to say for sure, but the rear axle looks solid as on the regular FWD version.
Yeah we see what you mean, but apparently it is! Who knows!
Yes the Ducato is 4x4, same concept as Mitsubishi Outlander, Hyundai SantaFe for example, or any modern cross mounted engine SUV that is offered in FWD and 4x4.
Don't confuse with VW Touareg/Audi Q7 concept, neither with quattro layout.

Trakka make great vehicles ..... sadly, they forget their older vehicles and offered next to no support in finding replacement parts.
I have a 10 yr old Fiat ducato rv ..... we live in it fulltime. (16months at writing) me and two dogs.
they are tough ..... and by far the best van to drive in it's class

Very little real info about the vans, engine and dimensions would be good. The Rifter isn't a camper, it's a concept that might get made (I doubt it) but you can buy the Rifter as a passenger car and add a tent. Cold have been 10 mins shorter as the rest is just music and filler. Sorry if I'm being hard fella but it popped into my feed and it's a subject I hold dear.

For what the hell you need a TV in a camper! I think designers have never been in the wild with a van, I mean for long time not just a weekend.
Thanks for watching Eddie, we'll be honest we're big fans of little TV's in our rigs. Late at night when you want to watch a movie with your partner or family you can. Most people who moan about a TV in a van usually read a book or are on their phone, both are forms of entertainment so surely it doesn't matter in what way someone should want to entertain themselves?

Yes the Ducato has been on sell but from what we heard it was very limited. The link in the description should give you some more information on that. Regarding the Crafter, unfortunately not, but there are on or two companies that will add a pop top roof, but a crafter has a 7-8ft headspace anyway so you should be okay!

They need to marry that rooftop tent on the smaller concept to the Sprinter dually model. Duh. Like, why can't they figure out that passengers DO NOT want to be seated behind the driver so closely as if they are kid-sized abductees? A simple seating adjustment slide would suffice.
I always wondered why nobody was doing the VW CRAFTER as the build quality of VW is soo much better than the Fiat, Fords and in my EXPERIENCE they are better than the Sprinter as I used to drive both and just never liked the Merc Sprinter the LT35 extra lwb was an amazing van I put 146,000mls in 2 years and it never let me down. The 1st gen Crafter looked like a PIG but the newer ones look like a VW. SCOOBS UK.

If you are from Europe - have a good look at our highways - if you spot ONE /1/ Crafter among one thousand /1000/ of Ducatos, Jumpers, Boxers, Sprinters, Masters, .. I'll buy you a beer.
Take your time and watch some German autobahn online camera.
You will see a Crafter at most used by local farmers, small companies for short trips once a week.
No transport company in Europe would buy a Crafter, not even get one for free and taking the risk of breakdown.
We call VW Crafter the "King of workshops". In all of 40 or so EU countries. Maybe except the U.K.
But a haven't seen any Crafter in last half a year over there either and I've spent most of last six months on M25,M6,M1,M40 and doing 15-20 000 miles a month in Ducato crossing the whole Ireland, UK, and Europe.
