  • This tutorial shows how to make 3 different interesting ring types that are adjustable. There are tons of variations possible with these, so have fun experimenting! I used about a 10mm x 12mm rectangularish Turquoise for the belt ring, a 5mm Rhodochrosite for the overlap ring, and a Chrysoprase for the bypass ring. I would categorize these as mostly beginner level. The materials for these can vary, but for these ones, I used 18 gauge sterling sheet, 22 gauge sterling sheet, 8 gauge sterling half round wire, 14 gauge sterling round wire, 14 gauge sterling square wire wire, and 3/16 inch fine silver bezel in 26 gauge. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and My-T-Flux from Rio Grande.

    Yes, the Buckle ring is ONE of my favorites you have shown us. You are most definitely an inspiration to all of us. Thank you once again my friend.🤠 Hat's off to you.

    I like the way you have hidden the variable size element in plain sight. So much better than the type where the ring band has a gap which often makes the ring look unfinished. I’m going to steal this idea for sure, maybe to use some patterned wire or textured from the roller. Cheers. 🎉

      Thanks Benny! Keep putting out the cool stuff you are making, and it’ll take off. Seems like it takes forever to get going, but after monetizing it picked up the pace a little. You make really unique things and once CZcams notices you, it’ll get going.

    I love love the belt idea, you are an amazing artist….
    I am currently working on two rings that must be adjustable. I have done the simple go to type with two ends crossing each other. I am however having a hell of a time getting bezels to work when I do t have every size of bur $$$ I don’t want to buy pre made tube as I am self taught and need the challenges.
    Do you have advice on how to bezel a chunky piece of turquoise nugget? They have lots of different thickness and angles to them.
    Second ? Am I to buy a hart bur a setting bur and a round bur in every size of stones I currently possess?
    Oh so many questions and so little time.

    Pleasure to buy you a coffee.
    Thanks again
    Love from Canada eh!!

      Thanks Michelle! For chunky turquoise, you might get ahold of some really tall bezel and do some creative filing to match the inconsistancies in edges of the stone. I don’t have all of the different sized burs of various types, but kind of wish I did! I improvise a lot. Thank you for the really nice comment:)

    Hello Chad. I’m a new subscriber-enjoy ur videos. Have a question it appears that when u set small stones whether cab or faceted, ur using bezel wire along wire to make step -not tubes and setting burs,etc? Did I get that right? I tend to always get my stones crooked in tubes😅. Keep up the good work❤

      @chadssilversmithing  Před rokem +1

      Hello Carol! Thank you for subscribing:). I always do bezels for the most part. I am experimenting with a plethora of different prong settings lately though. I don’t remember the last time I did a tube setting:)

      Hello Mary. I think you are talking about the Miter Vise Jig? My wife actually found that on Amazon. It is a decent one, but had I known there were some that also featured a 60° slot, I would have gotten that type. Super handy though. Thanks for the nice comment:)
