Love it. Did one myself about 40 years ago. Used cut down resized car parts, JJ Powell's engineering in Nth Vic did the mods.
    Brilliant old school tradesmen.
su carb from a old Morris, I've got a spare Stock motor and gearbox put away. Pretty heavy engine hey but the coolest engine Australia ever made. So Rare, well done mate.

Hi Phil Gary here, I have 3 Howard motorcycles that you can see running on this page. I built them in the 1980's. These motors were manufactured from 1932 to 1939 and are 1264cc or 77 cu in. There were only 5000 made so you are very lucky to own one. They were never designed to run much more than 1000rpm. If you try pushing too much more, the conrods will snap just above the bearing and punch a hole through the cases. I know so I redesigned and had stronger rods made. Hope all goes well with your build and if you need any information on them, just ask. PS, The oil pump inlet is the lower right, the lower left with the one way valve, goes to the crankshaft and rear of the right barrel. The top left comes from the crank case while top right returns to the oil tank. They are a very slow pump so it will take a while till oils spits out, yes spits out. These engines don't have oil pressure, they just need to flood the mains so tolerances in the mains is critical.
