I agree with you 100 percent. It's unfair that there's a friend limit and no half stars. I'm grateful for there at least being an option to follow people's reviews when they have 5,000 friends, but I think it's time for an update. I want to see an improved Goodreads.

The rating system should have half-stars, like CZcams did way back in the day! And I think you should be able to say your re-reading something, and have it count towards your goal!

I got the hardcover of Daughter of Smoke and Bone on clearance at Barnes and Noble for 4.99! It's so pretty. I can't wait to read it.
Also, Dreams of Blood and Starlight (the 2nd in the DoSB trilogy) is beyond beyond beyond amazing. I just finished the last book last night and OH THE FEEEEEELS

I agree with you City of Glass was EPIC!! I think is the best in the series but I need to read City oh Heavenly Fire for be sure. My reading challenge are 70 books too and im fine. You are the best Jesse kisses from Argentina!!
Haha to your description for the cover of Attachments. I should def give We Were Liars a read in June, too, since everyone is loving it, but I also have no idea what it's about. Trying to not spoil myself about it, lol.
omg half stars would make my life. I hate having to decide whether to go up or down a star- the book isn't worth 4 stars but 3 seems kind of rough etc! Love your videos, subscribed!
I'm still pretty new to goodreads. I only really use it to keep track of my books & readings. Yet I can see where the things u mentioned can be updated. Especially the notifications so annoying

Haven't read Cassandra Clare yet but have been starting to accumulate her books. I did read all rainbow Rowell books (attachments my favorite). FaNgirl (my least favorite). I use goodreads for everything, I even put if I own the physical book or have it on kindle. Really comes in handy at the bookstore.

I totally agree about the layout. It's just not as exciting as it could be! And half stars are a great idea. But I do still love goodreads-it's a great way to keep track of books you've read.
Yeah, I love the website, but it just could use some updating. For the most part it's a great way to track everything you've read and to find new books!

You can alter the notifications you receive on Goodreads. I turned off all of my group notifications. It was getting pretty damn annoying. Go to Edit Profile > Settings > Emails and that whole page allows you to change/turn off the emails and notifications you receive.
yeah, but there are still certain notifications that you can't turn off. :/

Lol um yeah totally agree with everything you said about Goodreads, especially the rating system and the search. I usually google for all my searches and then come back to goodreads to get my info straight - ridionkulous!! We need to create a new fresh user friendly stylin site and send a memo to goodreads sayin "next time try this" :)

The search bar definitely needs an update, same with the rating system! I'd also kind of like it if the app was improved. Like, on desktop site, you can see other covers and editions of books, but you can't on the app. I'm Australian and I don't know why, but we have the ugliest covers ever so when I add something to my shelf I want one of the nicer editions. It's the same if there's a cover change and I like the older/newer versions. I'm picky when it comes to my bookshelf, whether it be real or virtual. :) Great video!
i agree that the user experience in goodreads is asking for improvements... but you are able to modify the notifications that you get, the functionality is there, you just need to know where to find it (ergo the usability sucks).
about the half stars, i really think that if we keep demanding it at some point they have to hear us (that... or they can continue making a fuss about how difficult a change it is and not doing it ¬¬).

We Were Liars is amazing- READ IT SOON! I was lucky enough to get an ARC way back when and it was so good.
yeah, the notifications though! Goodreads sends me an email whenever I mark a book as read "You've finished [book]!" And I'm just like - yeah goodreads, I KNOW, I just told you I finished it, wtf! ... whatever the point of these emails is, I do not know but I want them gone, they are annoying.
Goodreads definitely needs to be updated. I pretty much only use Goodreads to keep track of all the books I read and to share with my friends of what I'm reading.

I'm currently reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.( I think I spelled her last name wrong) but I was thinking about reading some of her other books because Fangirl is soo good!! Would you recommend it?
I just finished Attachments and LOVED IT!! it was my 2nd Rowell book and so far she is batting 100 for me. Do you like her "male" voice for Lincoln? I love Lincoln and I thought he was a likable geeky computer guy:)
Have you ever read the A Tale Dark and Grimm books? It seems like a lot of people haven't read them even though they're really good.
I wish Goodreads had a way to count re-reads toward your yearly goal! But that's one of my only complaints. Also, I'm currently catching up on TMI, too. But you're one book ahead of me as I'm on City of Glass (you're right. EPIC). I don't know if I'll be done by the 27th, but I hope so! :)

I was on Shelfari for the longest before I switched over to Goodreads.There was 3 book sites Shelfari, Goodreads and I've forgotten the third. Lol Anyway, I picked Shelfari because the others looked confusing and a jumbled up mess. But now love Goodreads but I do agree with you about improving the search box and ratings system.
I agree on your list of things goodreads can improve on especially the friends limit thing. I want to befriend all of the youtubers I follow but I can't because damn friends limit. I think goodreads is a good website for bookworms :)

Goodreads gets on my nerves sometimes because some of the books I really adore and love to read over and over again have the worst reviews and books I don't like have really good reviews and it makes me so conflicted!

I don't like how goodreads has a section to say how many times you have read a particular book but no place to mark multiple dates read.
I love goodreads, but I find myself not wanting to use my precious reading time to update it. I wish it could connect directly to my kindle.

Yeah, It was the UK paper back edition. :S I went ahead and bought the american hardcover editions, because it would have cost me more to continue to buy the uk paperback editions. xD

They need to improve their star-rating system, the comments and by send me a notification every time someone else comments on something I have commented on as well. Maybe they have these flaws because they didn't expect their sight to grow as big as it has. I don't know I just know there are a lot of things that could be done to make the site more enjoyable to use.
Goodreads ratings are horrible, I wish we could have half stars! UGH, a girl can dream!
