When I was going for the Minimalist run, Matilda with Cat Ears was SOOO good. I couldn't imagine using it without infinite ammo though with how much of an ammo sink it is.

I personally love the blacktail and red 9 combo that I just used to get the minimal, frugalist, and silent stranger last night. It is definitely a good challenge doing all 3 simultaneously. I can never not got hit so I played 95% of the run with no BA and 1 hit from danger. Also no cat ears or box full of handgun rounds.Ratchets the difficulty substantially

While the Matilda shreds and the Punisher is consistent, the Red9 x Blacktail duo does the same for way less ammo. Punisher falls off against late game enemies hard and Matilda demands too much ammo. Good Luck on your runs !
Cool! But isn’t Matilda and Blacktail a good combo too? Or does the Blacktail have too little penetration power or is to expensive to upgrade together with Matilda? 🤔 💭
Matilda fully upgraded with stock and/or Red9 same WITH CAT EARS is the way to go. Assisted mode and you almost are on top of the food chain… 😉
With cat ears the Matilda is one of the best guns in the game by far. It's better than an fully auto weapon besides maybe the cqbr even then I like it better than the cqbr with its awful iron sights or even using the scope. Without cat ears rock the blacktail and then the sentinel nine when you really need the accuracy of the laser.

I've got about half way through my minamilist run and oh my god I can't believe I didn't use the Matilda.. it's insanely op with cat ears. It's actually brought a bit of fun back to the game for me and I'm treating it less like a running simulator.
It really is one of the most fun guns in the game :D
Mendez, salazar, krauser, gigante, almost all of the big bosses are a piece of cake, it seems, with matilda or maybe it's your acurracy and calm gameplay, actually watched alot, i mean alot of the walkthroughs but your gameplay so far is the best i've seen. Keep it up👍👍👍.

I did a Minimalist run the other day. Used the SG-09 R for isolated enemies to toy with, a Punisher for Shields, and the Matilda for everything else! The gun detail is insane! I used the Matilda to brute force kill a Regenerator, and I shot so many times, the Matilda barrel was red hot and smoking!
Matilda is one of the funnest guns with cat ears!

Red 9 blacktail is all you need I did my run with those two but blacktail is just amazing

Blacktail is super under rated in the original. Just wish the new one had the same handling. I used to be a red 9 player till I tried it and yes it’s not as ammo thrifty, you woul never come close to running out or missing the 9. I do wish you could still red dot them but the crosshairs on the bit are fine.
@@dubbayabird6680 never really bothered with the other pistols in the original the starting pistol is literally all you need it’s super cheap and amazing all enemies expect the ones with helmets or tanky enemies can get staggered with one headshot. Red 9 in the Og is just amazing also

To confirm, this is ng+ standard difficulty? All guns premaxed so no need to speak to merchant, do you just carry over a full armor?

The x normally indicates a pairing, for example in animes A x B indicates the shipping of a couple and here it does the same with guns.

Yes!
Even with ammo manipulation this was still cancerous. Although the game refused to ever give me small resources so maybe I was just very unlucky.
Should of got the cat ears. I feel like most people including my self did this run as a victory lap, it's supposed to be fun.

I think I had the same thing happen to towards the end. At first everything was fine, I always had a steady stream of ammo with like 100-120, then suddenly towards the middle/end of the castle I barely got above 50-60, most of the time I had around 40 extra ammo in the case + what I had in the clip (Red9)
The magnum doesn't count for this trophy?
You can’t use the magnum! But if you have cat ears the Matilda is insane!
Be careful also using eggs or snakes to heal. Heard that will break the achievement too, but killing by hitting red barrels or using the two cannons in the battlement are allowed!
@@losmosquitos1108You can eat those and be fine. You can even take out a weapon and scope in and everything just don't shoot and you'll be fine.
Do NOT throw the egg at salazar or his painting because that one will end the run, gernades and flashes are fine though.
If you're ever in doubt, press options to go to challanges and scroll to the minimalist challenege, if you see any number besides 0 then that means you messed up at some point. It should always be at 0.

Edit: there are some uncertainties and contradictions though in the internet, that‘s what I found: „You must only use the 6 Handguns and 4 Knives; killing enemies with any other weapon will not get you this trophy.
Eliminating enemies with other means, such as Frag or Flash Grenades, is also not allowed. Therefore, you must avoid it.“

@@Crouton- Grenades and flashes will ruin Minimalist as well, I messed up my first run by throwing a flash at the crows in El Gigante’s arena. Didn’t realize it until I was at the castle, and had already saved so I had to start over
The Matilda is just completely obscene, especially with the Cat ears, but even without it the gun is completely overpowered.

I do not see why you need punisher. Even blacktail is much much better.
Probably to pierce shields and stuff, though the Matilda also does that very well. I used all of the pistols in my Minimalist run, but just for fun. The Matilda is really all you need
