Haha! Thank you😀 I always hope for a late go-around whenever a rare plane is about to land. On this day, the Gods were kind and the Il96 flew right above us. The sound and the smoke of her PS90 engines was so good.😀

Boeing, Douglas, Lockheed, Airbus and then there were the Tupovlevs, IIlyushins, the odd Antonovs. And us aviation fans were spoilt for choices in terms of design shapes, size, technologies and performance capabilities. Heck, we even went supersonic for a few decades.

The variety back then was a treat for the passengers as well as the plane spotters. As much as I like the sleek modern twin jets, I miss the older ones a lot. The competition pushed innovation while maintaining safety back then. Now there is a duopoly and it seems like passenger safety has gone for a toss. "If ain't Boeing, I ain't going" phrase is history now. We need people like Joe Sutter now more than ever.

If I had gone to the other location I would have probably missed the IL96. There is a reason why I do certain things. Spotting at Mumbai Airport isnt like spotting at other international airports. You dont always have the luxury of choice. Especially when it comes to locations. I thank you for your support and I understand which angles are better. But sometimes its either a decent view or no view..

does virgin atlantic operate b787-9 or a350-1000 from mumbai to london flights? because on flightradar24 it says b787-9 and in the video we can see an a350 depart?
That's the thing. You never know. It's based on luck most times. Occasionally, you can see it on FR24 when it pushes back. Sadly, they usually depart when it's not feasible for me to spot.

IL-76 of Volga Dnepr landed yesterday. How do I know when it takes off today? Flightradar does not show any details.

Yesterday it landed at 7:55 pm. I figured it would depart at 4:00 am types. It’s still on the ground. There’s no way to know about these schedules?
Sometimes they depart in a few hours, sometimes they stay here for days..
