The legendary 93/KHJ Los Angeles played The Sundowners!
I really enjoyed this interview ~ looking forward to the next ones!
That was a great interview! What great stories and memories from Bobby.
Loved the Sundowners record Captain Nemo!
.
YAY !! Still MORE of the Monkees !!
THANK YOU, Mr. Russo !!
.
"Always You" by The Sundowners (LP Version w/ orchestral intro)-10/10.
Rest in peace Bobby.
Fantastic, but I absolutely cannot believe he didn't go into depth a bit more with his drummer Kim Capli, who played multiple instruments on a couple of Monkees recordings. That would be really cool to know more of how he got those dates. Obviously he was hanging around thd band so.......
All of these interviews and interviewees are outstanding and special in their own way. I just have to say that Bobby's laughter is ridiculously infectious 😅. What an energy this guy has. I'd love to be in his presence and talk Monkees. He's the craziest people 😂
JR, your interview style along with your background knowledge never fails. Another top effort and greatly appreciated.
HA! Hot enchilada! love it.
Great warmed my heart
The plaster-casters were very well-known in the day. Surprised they didn't know about them at the time.
Never really understood the appeal of Elvis. I don't get it. Maybe a bit of emperor's new clothes from my pov. But, to each his own.
I saw the 1969 concert. It was crazy with screaming fans in a packed theater. Sold out. But one of the big factors is that Peter had left the Monkees and among the people I knew who were big into them they all said "it's over. It's not the same thing". Plus they were going out and trying to shed their corporate beginnings (corporate=sell-out/fake in the 60's) and it was time for them to disappear for a while and be re-discovered by people who could see beyond that tv show sitcom beginning to something more authentic, vital and independently creative.
Thanks for the interview. What a jovial fellow! Nice to see that these days.
Good job! Wish you asked him what Elvis thought of the Monkees.
That wasn't something they discussed
Great stuff JR. You need to come out of the shadows though.
Agreed! I enjoy his interviews but he kind of freaks me out in the dark shadows, he needs to lighten things up a bit.
@@lisaann2240 I prefer to give the guest the "spotlight" : )
Looking you up, cool stories. You played my wedding at the Hermitage in VT and played a rock medley with you, I played drums. I nailed the ending. You guys were the best.
Another great interview! This one along with Monkee Girl Barbara Hamaker are my favorites.
How’s life?! friend.you did amazing !talk you later~ 😉
