You probably already know about it, but you can also get scraps of vinyl tape from custom vehicle wrap shops as well..

You can save $$ by using old fishing rods! That's how I learned but I can't make good heads. I always thought pillow type fluffing was good for the heads, I'm going to try yarn, pilamaya!

What tape do you use? Like the tin electric tape for bands
Awesome drum sticks, brother. I've always used felt and horse hair for both my handle and head. A couple times I wrapped sinew really tight then put the felt over it then over course the outer layer is always leather. Just for a different feel. Sometimes holding the same type of handle for a long period of time bothers my hand/wrist. All my sucks are different sizes and weights. I tend to paint my stems but yours look awesome with the tape design. I don't sell mine. I just make them for myself and people on my drum. This is a really long comment. Lol. Either way, thank you. I work in the school system with first nations students. I have tried to follow along with your tutorials and apprcieate you sharing your knowledge. You have helped me fuide these kids in making their own to carry with them. Alot of the kids ask how to get the imagery and how you do your tape work. Any chance of showing us how?

how did you get the leather to stick to the drumstick before sewing? How did you do the awesome tape work to make your designs?
Thank you for sharing your mad skills . I use Goodwinds for my fiberglass rods . 3.05$ US for a 1/4" by 72" . Hopefully it could save you some bucs . Hetcha !
