- Tripp Halstead was playing at preschool when a tree limb fell from above and landed on his skull, resulting in severe brain damage. That day his parents locked themselves in a bathroom and agreed to “make it the absolute best life for Tripp as he is now.”
Today Tripp has started to express emotions by smiling and is learning to communicate by blinking his eyes.

😭😭😭
God bless
RIP dear boy...you were so loved.
Dear Halstead Family and SBSK- My heart and prayers go out to you. I followed Tripp from day one and he was so amazing!
This woman is amazing.
I remember seeing his story on FB when it happened. I prayed for him. He is a handsome young man and you are an amazing mom. Thank God you found your strength so you could go on with life as it is. My hat off to you and your husband.
She sure is, and so is her wonderful son - can certainly see where he got his happy, fun loving personality from. Bless him, hope he will continue to improve each day. Can definitely see that he is following what people say to him and trying his absolute hardest to respond with his eyes.
Hey everybody, english isn't my first language and I'm trying to make it better... Does she have and accent? Cause I kinda hear a difference between the two of em talking.... Just curiosity. Thanks in advance :)
*an
Matheus Foschini Yes, she has a Southern accent.
Tripp Halstead passed away today, March 15, 2018. My heart is broken. My comfort lies in the fact that he is no longer in pain and is whole in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Fly high little guy!
Yvonda Shulters I’m sooo sorry to hear that
I’m devastated to hear. I’m no longer on fb but used to follow on there. So when this popped up on my recommended viewing I was happy to think I could follow on here then I saw the comments! I want to cry. May that sweet sweet boy Rest In Peace! What ultimately took him?
Kristina Jockel : The parents are incredible! They make me cry. Even I can feel their love. They are strong.
😢
Really is this true??? So sad.
My father suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 37 years and was left in a vegetative state. He lived in a shell that he was trapped inside for 20 years. He passed away at 57 years old from a heart attack. My heart breaks for Tripps parents as I know how difficult it is to have the person physically with you but you have lost the actual person they are. When people with a TBI pass, you have lost that person twice. RIP Tripp 💜
Gud
emira abdulovska i am sorry my condolences to you and your family
My friend's dad has Alzheimer's now. It's very difficult for her mother and family, especially when she can remember how he was like before his diagnosis. She has mild CP, drives a car-or truck-is married with a son and 3 college degrees-but can't find a job. But boy, has she tried!
The positivity of his mother is stunning!
She is a Jehovah's witness. Her faith and love for how Jesus treated people has helped her to be so positive...and gives her a hope for Tripps future.
I thought the saaaame thing. I loved how she thought "half glass full" for all of her situations.
flamingpie herman They are a cult.
That's what happens when you put your kid in daycare! Smh
@@ryanmeenk2144 Than CAN be what happens when you HAVE to put your child in daycare because nobody can survive off of one income anymore, and stay at home moms are going extinct.
This made me cry so hard... She is such an amazing mommy and he is such a sweet little man. I cannot even fathom what she went through losing such a vibrant little boy, but he is still such a miracle.
Stan The man she did lose him, in a sense. He will never be the same. Of course it is miraculous he is still alive and it is still him in physical form. He just will live a totally different life.
Stan The man he passed away.
Unfortunately she did lose her baby boy..
yes she did, he died
RK800 CONNER the boy he would have been if not for the accident died. But Tripp is still here. Such a beautiful boy with that red hair! He did smile since the accident!
If I remember correctly he actually was making progress and able to give thumbs up and respond a bit to people, but then had a setback due to an infection and lost that progress. His parents are such strong people. Their story has touched people's lives around the world. RIP, beautiful Tripp.
Tripp was the most beautiful little boy. I was Devastated to learn he passed away. God bless his parents. They loved him so much. So much!
Best CZcams channel hands down.
Hakai Blue ikr
Hakai Blue Not only that, you have some amazing uploads too! But you're right, this guy and all those lovely kids are just so precious.
Call Me Maala thank you!
I agree, it spread love and acceptance,, He is so genuine in what he does and you can just feel the love he has for everyone he has on his channel.. so refreshing,, especially now days, where people seem to be more and more judgmental and hateful towards others, especially those with disabilities.
Hakai Blue By far!
Tripp was a typical 2 year old when this accident occurred 5 years ago. His Mom happily shared that he was "Extremely chatty and loved the movie Cars." Although he didn't smile in this particular interview Tripp's family has a blog on Facebook named "Tripp Halstead Updates" where he often shows emotions in a variety of ways.
Special Books by Special Kids so happy you got to talk to this family so remarkable
Special Books by Special Kids My son is severely austic. I would love for you to meet my very special little guy one day. I love your video's!!! Keep it up brother!!👍👍👍👏👏
Special Books by Special Kids As someone that comes from having Cerebral Palsy, I think what you do is amazing. I wish people like you would have more compassion with others. Thank you. And you're really cute too.🤗❤💯
Special Books by Special Kids Thank you for introducing us to this magical little boy. His presence beams!
I saw the old footage and Tripp was definitely a brilliant boy and still is. I sincerely wish with all my love that he does get better with restoration. This boy has touched my heart and I want nothing but the best for him. He's a handsome, and sweet 7 year old boy. I'm so happy to hear that he is still cheery at times and you can tell that he tries so hard to engage.. All 7 year olds should be able to caper, to romp, to jitter, to hop, to leap, to roll, to giggle, to chatter, to banter, to wiggle, to run, and to play and all the other things that 7 year olds do. It must be painful for him too, because he isn't able to do those things that he sees his 7 year old counterparts doing. I wish nothing but the best for Tripp and his family on their way to recovery and restoration.
This is so heartbreaking, everything from his accident to his passing. My heart hurts for this family.
Sad but what incredible mom!!!
So happy to see that comments are still up. RIP too this young man and my condolences to his family ❤️.
Juste here unfortunately, checked thirty videos to see and comment sections disabled everywhere. Its a shame its because this is revolutionary and show that together we can do things and govs are useless. And maybe coz this channel dont sell themselves too thats punishment.
@@amor797 it is a shame. I wish they would let us comment
@@kj4334 govs do it i think because it shows how useless they are. We can only count and help ourselves with each other.
Having lost my son with Down Syndrome who had many health issues throughout his life - I admire and understand these parents! They - and YOU - are amazing human beings.
hi
Richard Abbas Daniel hi
So sorry. My condolences to you and your family!
I am truly sorry. You beloved Son is still with you and always will be, living on with you and through you, forever.
How old was your son? Sometimes I think I would like to raise a child with down syndrome. They are the sweetest kids. Sorry for your loss.
It is so much harder when a disability comes later, and you've known what the child was like before an accident (or disease, or what have you), but you all are so positive and loving and wonderful. I am so happy for Tripp that he has such a lovely family
I don't know about that? I think each is equally hard. My son is non verbal, blind, in a wheelchair and nappies at 13 and he was born that way. So he has never seen the world, never seen people, never spoken to anyone, or had any type of verbal communication. I think if he'd had some understanding before hand it may be would have been easier for him to have some type of understanding of the world around us.

I'm so sorry to hear about your son.
Blessings to you & your family.
Sincerely, Maryann from R.I 💔
@@ella-bt8hp ,my sister is the same way, I'm her caretaker. God bless you!
I’m totally devastated that Tripp passed away!!! The only thing that makes me feel better is knowing he is in heaven and now has no injuries!!! Go run and play little man you’re free and healthy!!! Rest In Peace sweet little boy❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I followed Tripp a long timeon Facebook. RIP sweet boy. What great parents he had.
She is so positive and definitely an amazing mother!!!!
His smile was so beautiful! This family is so strong.

Tripp , passes away
This mommy is such a sweet positive angel, bless her. Rip Tripp
this channel is a gem of humanity i'm sobbing
I think it's incredible that despite his hardships, he shows people that's he's aware and he's listening. Just watching him slowly blink his eyes when you talk to him makes me think he's a very kind and thoughtful person.
Tripp has one very special mama.
This channel never fails to truly touch my heart and inspire me to try and be more kind.
I've never forgotten your precious son. 🙏🙏🙏
Can't believe how strong this woman is. Really amazing how well she accepts reality and how positive her attitude is
His mother is truly one of the most inspirational, caring and selfless humans I've had the blessing to experience her amazing soul she brings to this world. I send her, Tripp and her family all the blessings in the world. I pray for the grace of god to bless them with more than they can imagine. What an amazing lesson I learned from watching this video. Thank you so much for sharing with us, there are truly such amazing mothers in this world and she is at the top of that bunch.
rest in peace Tripp shine bright in heaven little dude xx
I will never forget Tripp and his wonderful mother
Awww it's really sweet how they hide when they're down just so they stay positive for him 😊 It must've been hard to have something like that happen to your child, but I'm really glad they've made the most of the situation! ❤
I'm happy he has such a loving mother to take care of him. She really cares about him. I hope he gradually gets better and better and keeps on smiling every day.
I am sorry to say, Tripp went to be with the lord today :(
ARE YOUR COMMENTS BACK ON??? Oh my goodness I hope so! I am the director of a day care (almost 25 years) I think my WORST FEAR is that something like what happened to Tripp would happen to one or our daycare kids. I pray every day God will keep my daycare kidoes safe! Tripp you are the man and you have amazing and awesome parents!
He passed away
They aren't on all of the videos
Sharon B. , by the way, who is normally prosecuted in such a case ?
God doesn't keep them safe since he gave us free will.
I started following Tripp's story the minute after it broke on the news. It tore me up when the announcement came in he had passed away.
You can forever run and play in your Heavenly playground buddy, rest on little angel.
I have followed Tripp's journey since he was first injured. His Facebook page is a daily joyful reminder as we see Tripp grow and changed and come more alive each day. Tripp has improved so much since his accident and he truly has the best parents. Such a wonderful family.
Kayla G. What was his accident? What happened?
Heidi Willard he did?

Thank you so much for the longer videos ❤️ I love getting to learn more about everyone
Lyssa Chacon yes I agree!!
Agreed
SBbySK is the absolute best. Thank you for allowing us the grace of meeting all of these remarkable people. And thank you for honoring them.
He looked like he didn’t even have enough energy to blink his eyes, but the expression in his eyes were interactive. Amazing parents! Their attitude surely helped make things easier for Tripp. He remained so cute and loveable.
What a great mother she is.
Been watching Tripps story from day 1 he has come such a long way. Love to the whole family ❤
Your little boy is so beautiful, and you are all so strong. Thank you for sharing Tripp's story.
I work in a daycare with kids the same age Tripp was when this happened to him. I can not bear the thought of watching one of my babies going through this, then never coming back to school. I can't imagine seeing a happy healthy kid's life get turned upside down before it could even really start. The fact that Tripp was still _in there_ during this video sparks hope. Tripp deserved so much better, as did his family.
Tripp is such an handsome and a brave boy! I wish the best for this cutie and his family. ❤️
Such a strong mama! Best of luck to this beautiful family
J Mizzy
Have you ever heard of karma? I really hope you go through something as horrific as this amazing family has had to deal with. That's really the only chance you have of ever becoming a compassionate human being. I can promise you that Tripp does more good in this world than you will ever do. HE has a purpose, and HE is surrounded with love. ...YOU can't possibly comprehend this because you will NEVER do as much good in your entire life as this little boy has done in 7 short years. I'm sure most people reading this would rather have Tripp in this world than someone like you. You could learn a lot lot from this kid...

Such a precious little guy and his mommy is wonderful.
By far the best episode I have watched. This mom is extraordinary and her strength is incredible.
Sadly Tripp passed away.. I just found out this morning on the news.. I think it was pneumonia.. So So sad.. R.I.P ANGEL..
Amber SoAmazing I read his heart gave out.
Oh so sad
Very, very sorry to hear. This little boy and his folks spread cheer and understanding, and his mom gave us some thoughtful and wise advice about paying attention to the blessings of our loved ones, and how communication can be subtle but still exists. And not to despair; great strides can be made regardless of medical diagnoses.
His heart stopped while fighting a cold... Mom said. Not sure if it had turned into pneumonia.
Oh my god thats so sad 😥
What a wonderful mother. She has such a beautiful, positive spirit to her.
Sweet little Tripp. RIP, sweet boy. You were so loved and blessed so many people in the little time you were here.
You’re such a strong and amazing woman. Thanks for keeping this little man happy in his lifetime. RIP Tripp 🙏💓
Chris and Alyssa I am in awe of your wonderful videos. Thank you for giving a dignified opportunity to people who are living with disabilities to introduce themselves and to show that being different isn’t a negative quality. I have been moved by the love and joy that shines through each interview even when the individual or families concerned have extremely difficult prognoses. God bless you.
His mum needs your support she is having a hard time with depression since she lost tripp drop her a line on Facebook and tell her u are thinking of her
Do you know what her FB is ?
Every night I Pray for you and your husband, I follow Tripp’s story
Watching the video was very inspiring to see how wonderful Tripp and his family were, but I was saddened to learn afterward that Tripp had passed away. However hard that must have been for Tripp's family, know that through this video that Tripp continues to inspire others even unto death and into eternity. Thank you so much.
We love you all.
I have followed this family ever since the accident praying for stacy and bill. Tripp has always been such an inspiration. Seeing him grow and overcome many obstacles. He was so loved by many. 👼Sleep in peace Tripp ❤
Lovely, just lovely! Amazing to see the subtle change in Tripp's expression when his Mum spoke about smiling. His face smiled even though his mouth didn't! Bless his sweet soul.

Same here! I was living in Atlanta at the time of his accident and I remember seeing on the news the tree that fell on him 😦 it's a miracle that he's here today.
Sadly Tripp passed away on March 15, 2018.
May you rest in peace, little man. Hope you're in a better place.
Im so happy to see comments!!
Trips mum is a wonderful person. I love that they hide when they are having a bad day to keep positive around Trip
How incredibly devastating to have had this happen, but how exceptionally wonderful that you were the parents to take care of this gift. I'm so sorry for your loss, no one ever anywhere for any reason should have to feel like this.
This woman is a inspiration
Sometimes life sucks and terrible things happen, but it's definitely a blessing to be where you are right now :) Stay positive, think of what you have gained from the tragedy: the strength and perspectives as well as the love that has grown through the hardship. I really hope you all will live well and happy
What amazing family!! God bless them♥️
Rip Tripp ❤️❤️❤️ you were a warrior!! Life was cruel to you but you had the best mom on this planet!!! I don't know how she'll go on without you. Rip
Wow you are one of the most Strongest woman I have ever seen. I would not be able to ever face the traumatic event of ever losing my son. To where he's just trapped in his own body. Thank God he's still in there! But I would definitely lose my mind 100%. Tripp is soo lucky to have such a strong loving mother and family that's for sure!! You you all are soo very lucky to be blessed with such an amazing KID!! He is absolutely just an adorable handsome little guy. I can't have children myself unfortunately. So I believe that every child is a precious beautiful gift from God. My God Bless you and your Family. 💝🌹✨👼
I adore this channel. I am so grateful, as an educator that you give these kids and families a platform to be seen.
The humble gratitude and positivity of these parents is mind blowing.

Just came across this today. First I am very sorry about your huge loss. He was a beautiful child and you will get him back one day. Finally, your positive attitude about life, despite hardships, is amazing which is why you have more than 1 million subscribers. Your child's injury ended up most likely helping countless other families through their own difficulties. I have much respect for Tripp and his parents. ❤
Tripp is so precious and amazing. You can tell he's got the strong will to fight hard everyday, and Mom, you're so amazing, and I love y'all's attitude about keeping everything in Tripp's world positive no matter what. That is dedication, and I think y'all are an amazing family. Be strong, and stay strong together.

Thank you for making these videos your work is important!
How is taking the comments thread taking *their* voice away? Their voices come through on the videos, no?
Thank you, Chris, for posting this revealing interview. I also thank Tripp’s mom for her candor and descriptions of their thoughts, feelings and what they’ve learned. I take her advice to heart. Watching, I could tell Tripp communicates via his eye contact and blinks so was glad to hear his mom’s remarks re. Important to realize communication can be subtle! I’m glad CZcams’s left the comments on this; excellent example of SBSK’s mission and the responses from viewers and the many SBSK subscribers.
Watching back on this a few years later, it still brings tears to my eyes. What an amazing mother and RIP to that amazing little warrior. He's looking down on mama in heaven
