What can I say Jay you’ve outdone yourself with this car it’s not only a amazing vehicle but it appears to be in immaculate condition. I’d only seen pictures of this vehicle this was my first time seeing a in depth tour and wow is it amazing the quality that went into these cars no wonder people have raved about them for decades the detail all around is incredible it not only has beautiful wood trim but it was amazingly finished and I love the use of different woods that complement each other, everything was over the top, the seat frames and the materials used on the seats, I didn’t see one thing on this car that disappoints the eyes or the senses so in the wyr I am happily going to pick both pierce arrows. Thanks again this was a real pleasure to view and I can honestly say the pierce arrows go to the top of my dream car list, Packard, rolls and all the others take a back seat to pierce arrows as far as I’m concerned 😮👍

My Pierce-Arrow story from my Dad was that in response to the Stock market Crash was that his father gave up the family chauffeur and the Pierce Arrow in favour of driving a new Studebaker himself. My Dad remained friends with their chauffeur and at an older age they would both go to Harlem Jazz clubs together. He said never the Cotton Club and the like because they were segregated. He never named the places except they were the after hour places that all the hot players ended up at. His father then bought just before they stopped selling new cars bought a brand new 8cyl Packard, with 2 additional sets of tires and a years worth of gas and service.

In 1933 Pierce Arrow offered what was called the Silver Arrow. It featured futuristic styling which set it apart from anything else on the road. It was priced at $10000.00 which was a lot to spend during the depression. Very few were manufactured, maybe 10 or less. All Pierce Arrows are recognizable by their headlights which flow from the fenders. I would chose the Pierce Arrow over any of the cars shown here, although Cord would be my second choice.

Jay, this is a great example of why I "dig" your channel! Your description of the lines, trim, and textures of each classic are great - no preconceptions and no resorting to "standard" terminology. Just unvarnished opinion and accurate description. The work you put into the contemporary research and the pricing, stats, and "YOU would pay..." equivalents are fantastic. In addition, the use of your standard viewpoints, "buttons, gauges, and knobs" and the amusing glovebox tests lighten the atmosphere and make each video more fun. I literally don't miss an episode and enjoy every minute. Andy

Had the Depression not only killed PA, but also nearly Studebaker, there probably would have been an SPA, Studebaker Pierce Arrow Company for many years. In fact, there would have likely been other acquisitions. Studebaker was associated with so many great names, White trucks, Pierce Arrow, Packard, Mercedes Benz, you have to conclude either bad management, or fate itself could stop such opportunities. This is a gorgeous jewel of a car. The 33 Pierce Silver Arrow was designed and built at Studebaker. Druthers: 35 Packard, 36 Cord.

She's a beauty, Jay! For the mid thirty's, she's the top of the tops. 🎩😊. Excellent body color as well, compliments the woodwork and chrome, and the headlights in the fender set Pierce Arrow apart from all the rest. Might be a bit tricky changing lanes with that huge blind spot, but probably mostly a Glidden tour car, so no sense in worrying there. The brake and gas pedals shaped like cushion insoles, I guess that makes sense! Reliability was Pierce Arrow's selling point early on, probably a durable car as well. It's funny where you find these rare gems, someone in the Wausaukee area has one, the repair and body shop down the road from the fairgrounds was repairing and repainting one from the mid 30's a few years ago, but not quite as fancy as that one!! A rolling work of art, thanks for the tour. 🎉🎨 😊.

I need to get books on each car brand.
If you don’t know I’m a huge Packard fan but I would’ve taking this one home with me had I had the space in the budget to do so but with that said the crappy realization is depending on what Side of the coin you’re on these cars are going to continue to go down in value because the people that appreciated them are moving on that’s why this channel exist to try to get more people interested in the classy stuff. But if it ever does hit rock bottom I will be buying it up and saving it and driving it preserving it for future generations I can’t be the only person that digs this stuff

I know what you mean, Lawrence had the same problem selling Julius's 1909 Packard when Julius and his wife Margaret passed away, plus the White gasoline car.. not many enthusiastic old car buffs were left to want the early gas and brass cars, though interest ebbs and flows. That Pierce Arrow might be loosing value now, and for who knows how long, but at some point the market will rebound, but just when is anyone's guess. My goodness though, what a beautiful luxury car! After seeing this video without seeing a video on the other cars and being a Ford guy, I would rather have the Pierce Arrow. How can you not with just those pictures? I have even seen an early vintage Lincoln from the era, and it was very impressive. It wasn't the same car you showed in the picture. On the other hand, this is not a car for the average collector or a guy that wants to own a vintage car he can take to car shoes sponsored by clubs and dealers associations. This car belongs in a museum. That is the only place for this car. A place where it will be kept pristine and protected.

Great choices could you tell that it was absolutely in love with this car the asking price isn’t extremely astronomical for what it is either I keep telling myself if I can just wait and hold out for a little while longer I’ll be able to buy whatever senior or junior Packard that I could ever possibly want aside from the LeBaron cars Who knows maybe those too one day.. that stuff it’s just coming down in value like a rock on the flipside I saw six cylinder mustang fastback for 60 grand which I thought was absolutely insane because in my mind that’s still a $12-$20,000 car.. The coupes have also shot up in value.. 66 mustang fastback has always been one of those cars that I really want to own I might have to try to get one soon before their unobtainable.. but with that said for the same amount of money if I was going to spend $25,000 on a car it would be a really hard choice between a 66 mustang fastback or 57 Goldenhawk
