    It took so many eras, so many Wrestlemanias, so many matches for us to realize that Michael Cole is GOLD. Though it just took Vince's exit to realize it.

      He's tame af and its marks like you and the 20 other marks that liked your comment, that prevent wwe from replacing him with someone new and better. JR and The King are gold. Gorilla Monsoon, Randy and Dusty, those are gold. Cole is bronze at best.

      Why deny any hardcore fan? These are the people who are doing the most watching, the most research, and keeping up with all the most up to date and happenings among the Superstars of the WWE. @@Cocytus THey are also the minority, which mean they don't bring as much revenue as other demographic. Plus, their opinions might be right on some level, but it's also very extreme. They want WWE to go back to the old attitude or at least ruthless era. But that would never work out, because 1) the lanscape is different now, there are way more casual people watching that won't put up with such things. 2) it would basically doing the same old thing over again, which would in fact hurt creativity. What WWE doing right now is great because they listen to both the hardcore and the casual.

    • @HHHBFResurrected
      @HHHBFResurrected Před měsícem +3

      @@Cocytus They also tend to have very niche interests & are the hardest to please (because they assume they know better). They absolutely should be listened too, but no company should base their entire model around their views. Balance is the key, especially for a juggernaut like WWE. Make everyone feel like you've got something that's appealing to them, it's something the Attitude Era did REALLY well for the time.
      WWE's problem (historically) is it was being booked for an audience of one, that one being Vince McMahon.

Her nearly crying when Cody won also added to the moment. It's the little things that add up over time (Finn taking the key card, for example) that add up to the bigger stories and her giving everyone that extra little bit of personality just makes me connect so much more easily.

  • @MistarZtv
    @MistarZtv Před měsícem +9

    A thing that I think that's connected with a lot of people about this era, is that while you still have the shocking and headline grabbing moments that the AE was nutorious for. It's still got the self awareness and thoughtfulness into actually making those crazy moments have a proper story and promos behind them. this makes the audience and crowd connect with the product in a way that they haven't connected and reacted to it in decades. a lot of the stuff that's still remembered that we tend to forget are still compelling stories and moments, especially in the eras like the RA era where storyline and technical wrestling started getting more into the forefront but was very watered down by the awkward transition into the PG era.
    also lets not forget Steph and Khan's efforts to clean the companies branding image in the 2010s to remain relevant after all the controversies the company went through with the **** scandals and B***it. It trully was a team effort to get everything back on track. those two doing the logistical work, then people like triple h creative and talentwise. especially when it comes to how they've been treating their women along with people like dusty and finley who pushed for the women into higher quality matches and stories.
    another thing that's also interesting to see, is how they're more in touch with pop culture stuff with their collabs and crossover celebrities or public figures. which helps with making wrestling feel like its something worth checking out. its not always a runaway hit when it comes to collabs and crossovers. but i think they've had more successful ones than flop ones the last few years.

    What is really making the product so good to me right now is that almost everyone who is on TV right now has something to do and have engaging characters, and all the best stories aren't just reserved for the main event players. In fact, some stories are crossing over with others, which makes watching WWE TV seamless and not a Vince McMahon-controlled chore.

You have the Son of a Hall of Famer as the Champion and beloved by the fans like a Generational Talent that he is starting to become. You have the Mega Star Heel/Anti Hero in Roman Reigns reaching new levels and headlining every major PPV event like the Big Dawg should. A locker room full of Young Talent and really No Gimmicky Stars. Have Awkward fan favorites like Sami Zayn, Otis etc....3 Stars who are about to Go SUPERNOVA LA Knight, Bron Breaker and Jey USO. 0:07 "That hasn't been this good or popular since the early 2000's" and no matter how much better WWE gets you all are going to keep saying that. Because that is the opinion that has been pushed down your throat for years now and you believe that the Attitude Era is a way higher bar than it actually was. Go back and watch WWE back then. The storytelling wasn't nearly as planned out as it is now. There was hardly any long term storytelling whatsoever. Most of it was shock value that existed for the sole purpose of making tv ratings show bigger numbers. That's not to say it didn't have great moments. Austin vs McMahon and Austin vs Rock were two of the greatest rivalries in history with some of the best chemistry ever held between them, Kurt Angle was f'ing hilarious without it coming at the cost of his credibility (although the same applies to the ruthless aggression era where I'd argue he was even better), The Story between Undertaker and Kane (prior to the retcon of their backstory a year later), The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness being unlike anything we had ever seen before (up until the formation of the corporate ministry practically ruined it) and Mankind winning the Title as well as The Rock and Sock Connection was all pretty sweet (I know I had a lot of paranthesis and I'm not trying to be too negative towards the attitude era but some of the things I've been thinking of have something sticking out like a sore thumb). However, for every McMahon vs Austin there's a Big Boss Man vs Al Snow. For most of the potentially great stories there's an "IT'S ME AUSTIN!" For every WrestleMania 14 or 17 there's a 15 or 16. The standard that the Attitude Era set was never a high bar. Heck, I don't think any televised era in Wrestling set a high bar. But the thing they all shared in common was that they were all under the umbrella of a certain Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon. From what I've seen in the last few months, Wrestling right now is the best it's ever been and I hope it not only stays that way for the forseeable future but continues to get better and better setting the bar higher and higher than it's ever been... Ah who am I kidding some people will still think the Attitude Era is the "Greatest Era ever" just because they were told it was.

    The only mistake WWE made really up to this point was going TV-PG. Everything up to now, with who is and isn't in control anymore and the such, is amazing. The WWE as a whole nowadays is so much better and more freedom to creation based, but the TV-PG thing was a complete downfall. I understand the move and why they did it which did help the company somewhat progress, but I think going full on TV-PG was a bit overkill. If they remained TV-14 like they were for years and years before the PG Era, the WWE still could have made the same changes without changing TV-Rating. For example: different more safer and lesser overall chair shots, or the no more getting color (bloodied) rule, just to name a couple. They could have still been TV-14 and still maintained this change. But what TV-PG does, it creates a form of censoring of certain aspects. Like, I can't be the only one who noticed more camera cuts or glitch edits to prevent certain strikes or impacts with objects from being seen. When the Audience chants "holy sh*t" for example, it is intermittently muted, and these examples overall just create an awful viewing experience. TV-PG was an awful mistake and I really hope the move to Netflix gets rid of these awful TV-PG Restrictions.

  • @botpogo2085
    @botpogo2085 Před měsícem

    What I like about the current era is that WWE doesn't easily hand over the main show to top wrestlers alone, unlike in the pg era when the storyline didn't go well the storyline would be piled up or even replaced with a storyline from a top wrestler in WWE, for me when you don't give other wrestlers a chance to try to liven up the story it's clear the audience will easily get bored especially if the story revolves around the same wrestlers, right now we have so many conflicts and that was so good because as a audience i can choose what i wanna see
