Seriously though, I love Helluva and seeing people reduce is to "just swearing and sex jokes" kinda annoys me so I thought I'd compile together some of the most heartfelt and emotional parts of the show (so far) ❤️ (Also I made this before the Look my Way MV but Literally that whole video)

It's me. I AM everyone. I used to say that this show is nothing but demons being horny and them throwing disses at each other. I once came across this show and got interested in it because HELLO? the art style was just BEAUTIFUL but I immediately dropped it because I couldn't stand the constant meaningless swearing on the first few episodes BUT I saw Verosika Mayday AND HOLY SHOOT Yes Queen so I watched it again only to be hooked by the drama and angst it gives me.
those people are full of more shit than Godzilla's toilet after Tex Mex night (Wich to him is eating the entirety of Mexico)
Idk tho the latest episode seems to be pretty good, add a lot of depths to otherwise pretty shallow character(s)

Someone was saying how perhaps Blitz convinced himself that since Stolas was some kinda big special royal he couldn’t get hurt (physically or emotionally) so all of Blitz’s weird shiz wouldn’t hurt Stolas. Also the absolute concern he feels and the fact that he’s too emotionally constipated to come visit him

My dad went through similar to stolas in his marriage, it was only when i was older i understood how much he sacrificed for us, how much pain he went through to protect us
Until he couldn't take it anymore and had to get out
He took us with him as soon as he was able
Thats is why i hate people who sh*t on stolas, they say viv just wants to make us feel sad for him, they dub him as a terrible dad, but they know nothing
He's sacrificed most of his life for his duty, others needs, and his daughter, bad parents dont do that
He cant be faulted for chasing one slither of happiness in life
A cruel way to answer that would be, “It’s because he loves you so much that he hates your mom just as much.“ Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it’s Octavia’s fault; what I’m trying to say is that like a good parent, Stolas is trying to give his daughter a life she deserves and that life isn’t lavish but simple and ordinary one; something I would take that over all the riches in the world. Stella has always been someone he wasn't fond of, and their differences in desires are not opposites but incompatible, like matter is with anti/dark matter.
I always thought Stolas was a good parent and it was more Stella pushing Via onto Stolas, because Stella hates him so much.
@@EllesGhost13 I agree. In my case my mom was in stolas shoes, but when she run away from ourchome I felt abandoned. I could understand her reasons, but she did it in the worst way possible. I support Stolas, Stella is the worst companion ever and poor owl prince charming here had to endure a marriage full of suffering, abuse for Octavia.

I see stolas as the same, he still loves his daughter and thinks about her even while he struggles, his daughter being affected is inevitable, these situations hurn for everyone involved thats just how it is
Fun fact about Fizz: That red spot? That's some of what little unscarred skin he has left. The white? All scars, not make up (though he does patch up the worst of it with make up to make his face an even colour). He does sign language? He was super close to a blast so he's likely deaf without his gizmos. Gruff voice? Inhaled smoke, heat, and quite possibly had the blast hit his throat, damaging his vocal cords. Fizz is literally a walking A&E patient. Considering his flesh burned off the bone, it's amazing he even survived.

For me this is one of the most telling parts to Stolas character. He could have so easily sat down and told Viva how abusive, controlling and cruel Stella has been over the years but he doesn't. Even though Stolas could he won't disrespect Via’s mother.

Blitzo's lsd trip was honestly such a good peak at his character. It's mocking, angry, and it shows how much he hates and resents himself.

I thought it was a great choice too that most of the dialogue - even from other characters - is his own voice. Emphasizes his biggest issue is his internalized self-loathing.

I swear, after both the audience and Blitz have witnessed Fizzmodeus becoming real, if Stolitz doesn’t get the happy ending they deserve or at least reconciliation, I’m going to cry! It worries me that, as an aspiring actress and fanfic writer, I am aware that writers like to see their characters suffer every once in a while, but still!

Stoloas daughter doesn't even know that her mother hired someone to kill her dad. His daughter is so far out of the loop and it's sad. How much information his own daughter doesn't know and how she doesn't know how he was forced into an arranged marriage, that he didn't want. He never at all truly love the person he married, he just did it to have the child that he was order to have. Yet he does very much love his daughter, so he put up with his abusive arranged marriage partner. Now that his daughter is fully grown up, he wants to get away from her and finally be with the persons he truly loves, which is blitz and his beloved daughter. Yet he too of a terrified coward to communicate his true feelings to his daughter and blitz
He doesn't seem to know how... And it is so hard hitting how common this is in relationships; It's not a healthy relationship to be in, but when one has a kid, some parents want to stick around for the kids' sake... out of love. Though his actions hurt his daughter, it's clear he does not mean for them to. And sadly, Blitzo doesn't understand how close Stolas gotten to him, so despite getting a divorce, the man who liberated Stolas from the forced relationship may not be there to support him afterwards. But at least he'll always have Octavia.

To escape from the negative uncomfortable dinner. And since we can hear the music, she definitely has the volume on high. So I don't think she did not hear anything. Stoloas was too deep in his own thoughts and reading, plus didn't care about what she was screaming about, because she is always yelling about something. but he make a face like, bitch. The Fire Incident definitely doesn’t help with whatever the hell is going on with Blitz’s issues. What I’m saying is he hates himself for it and so it gets in the way of important things like understanding feelings

Ugh I’m hoping my friend can finally see this side of him too because they got to dinner at Ozzy’s and was like man Blitz is a dick, and I wanted to explain but they just need to finish the available episodes.
Also on top of the fire causing him to lose family and friends, his dad was a jerk. I can’t imagine this helped with Blitz’s self image from the beginning. So that and then feeling like the cause of a horrific accident no wonder he hasn’t been a good partner or felt like anyone could ever actually care for him. I think making up with Fizz definitely helped him start to heal

There’s so many layer to it (also there’s a chance that he had a crush on Fizz when they were younger and he was going to confess his feelings in a letter the night of the fire. So hey may very well associate confessing his feelings with trauma. What I’m saying is that if this is even a little bit true it definitely contributed to his self confidence issues)

I managed to read through Stolas's texts with Blitz while he was in the hospital. Poor guy was trying so hard to give Blitz some space to come to him and prove that he DIDN'T just want sex after the whole thing at Ozzie's. And he'd been doing it for months up until that point and Blitz still wasn't convinced it was real. Poor Stolas, man T~T

Me, too. My husband said something like this to me & it broke me when it was in the show. My husband is that guy who never let his guard down & had trouble opening up to anyone. He has a terrible childhood. It took me years to get him to trust me of letting him know he could tell me things & telling him things about myself to let him know it was okay. We went to his dad's funeral & many of his family there treated him badly based on lies people were telling about him & us... (idc what they say about me) he took me to the side & he said to me, "I just want to go home. Home is safe." He never felt like home was a safe place or like his house was home... he told me he feels like I am his home. So, when Octavia said this & we were watching it, it just made me tear up.

Blitz killed his mom and destroyed his childhood crush (fizz) as well as the life of his sister.
He acts in a way that pushes people away before they get hurt. But it also confirms to himself that he's a POS. He wants to open up to stolas, but he's afraid that doing so would turn out poorly again. He's also convinced that stolas is only into it for the sex.
This hurts more when you find out owls only fall in love once, after that they will never mate or look for another partner again.

The white parts are burn scars from an accident he caused that affected Fizzerolli as well. (The raspy voice, robotic limbs, shattered horns, knowing sign language, and the mostly white body is because he was point blank on the explosion)

the way this show manages to make us laugh our asses of, cry pure tears and warm us uo with cute and wholesome moments with important life portrayals is honestly crazy
I was rewatching with my friend and I was listening to the music in the background and I realized how much "Owl in a Cage" plays in the background of so many Stolas scenes really early.
It also plays when Paimon is on screen. So I like to think of it as the Ars Goetia theme, or Stolas’ family theme.
It’s called Stolas Speaks, it’s trully a beatifull and calming piece of music, and I’ve fallen as sleep while lisenting to it ✨
What kills me at 29:55 is the time and thought stolas puts into his texts...his texts constantly show his care and worry for Blitz, while blitz puts little thought and effort into his responses...
Blitzø has trouble converting his feelings into words and expressing them, he feels the need to hide everything all the time due to his traumas. And it's not exactly that he didn't put effort into his message, it's just the way he texts 😭

literally everyones talking about stolas, and yes I cried during the song with him and via but im so worried abt blitz bro. We saw that his like worst fears in the 3-4th clip like fizz, verosika and even being with stolas. Hes scared to be in shackles with him and its so relatable. He wants to be in a relationship but he doesnt want to be controlled like he was with verosika. He was also dressed like a clown hence his PTSD from losing his mom. Its so funny how we can come back to these episodes now understanding them (PS. Hence why in season 2 ep 2 when they were looking for via on earth, blitz was so scared to perform as Brandon Rangers)

It actually makes a lot of sense why poor Blitz is afraid of love and intimacy, not only did he feel he lost everyone he cared about in the fire in some way (that he no doubt blames himself for), he feels he's a failure as a dad because he doesn't know how to give loona what she needs consistently, but we also see how his dad treats him when he's a kid. Not only does he exploit his son while holding him to the standard of his son's best friend, saying fizz is the like the son he always wanted just before the cake candles caused the fire, but he outright guilts and manipulates blitz into a situation he's not only uncomfortable with but outright terrified of. Being vulnerable with anyone risks that level of manipulation and while yes you hold the power to say no, there's the concept of the "illusion of choice" where yes you can say no, but I'm gonna withdraw all love and affection and/or safety or whatever positive things you need and crave until you give me what I want anyway. And if his and verosika's relationship was similarly toxic it only would've reinforced that thought process. Plus blitz genuinely believes he's undeserving of love no matter how much he craves it, preferring to watch and insert himself into the only healthy relationship he sees constantly: moxxie and Millie.
Not only does Blitzos bad trip go more in depth in his insecurities, but it also has alot of deep meaning to it, realize how the people in his trip all speak in his voice, (Verosika, Moxxie, Striker, and Fizzaroli., Stolas is there too but he doesnt speak in blitzos voice.) I feel like something all these people have common is that they all have something he is jealous of. Verosika, being successful, and being liked by everyone, Moxxie having a loving and stable relationship, Striker having power, and being independent, Stolas having a good status, and seemlingly immortal physically and emotionally (atleast in blitz's eyes), and Fizzaroli being able to pursue in his circus performer dream, unlike Blitzo. And this this only a small part of his drug trip, there is alot more i can go into depth into but im too lazy.

stolas cares so much for via it’s actually so precious. i hope they have a good relationship by the end of the series. ik they seem like they kinda? made up? in s2ep2 so i hope that continues

The fact Brendan Rodgers is known for all of the crass humor and skits, but god damn can he act. The whole regret with Fizz and the fire was really emotional.
I feel like some of the people in this comment section are not appreciating this show enough. Criticism is worthless if you cannot enjoy anything without going into so much detail about why you think Vivziepop and the others went wrong with the show.
Shows in general these days, why cant we just watch and enjoy for what it is?

You know I really appreciate viv for her overwhelming positivity towards dads. There is not a bad dad in this show and it’s a very realistic look at being a dad. Except for moxies dad

@@EllesGhost13 oh no I meant him as an example of a more positive father figure. Though that said, even the other examples such as Stolas, while a good father in some aspects, is also not perfect and it means that the relationship with his daughter also suffers somewhat
It's funny to think that the guys (Blitzø, Stolas, Moxxie etc.) get the short end of the dad stick whereas the gals (Charlie, Octavia, Loona kinda, Millie) have more luck in that department

I have to say, I find it really interesting in "House of Asmodeus" that Verosika sings about how selfish a lover Blitzø is when it seems he's incredibly thorough with Stolas, beyond what he technically needs to do to keep him happy.
"It's hard... ya know... to trust that" is my favorite line so far in the show. Imposter syndrome is such a bitch and I've heard that same sentiment so much in real life it's scary good writing and delivery

As a self proclaimed Christian I can say that it’s really good storytelling when you can get me to feel “Sympathy for the Devil” (pun intended) from a cartoon show with crude humor. Just Look My Way brought me to tears 😭; I haven’t felt this way about fallen angels since reading Paradise Lost by John Milton, LOL 😂.
the 12th graders at my school read that book and im so sad im leaving the school before reading it- ive heard it is really good

i absolutely love how the background song in the possession scene at 9:15 is an orchestral version of owl in a cage

As a victim of childhood domestic abuse by my dad, witnessing all my mother went through and watching HB, they did so damn well portraying the aftermath of it and the PTSD that follows. I really feel seen honestly, watching how good the body language of the characters is, how well Vivienne did for casting everybody. The emotions they play in the tones of their voice adds so much power to them its unreal. I never expected myself to relate so much to an Owl Princess, an Ex-Mob Heir, and a Demon robo Clown.
The way how the characters grow during the entire serie and their backstories are way too perfect

Actually, Stolas Sings is the song Owl In a Cage. In another hand, Stolas Speaks is instrumental version, wich is the melody that we usually hear when Stolas makes his aperences. A magical and beautifull piece if I may say, I’m heard that song so many times.. it’s so calming, I’ve fallen as sleep as I hear it. Trully amazing ❤✨ (please forgive any miss spelling, engilsh is not my first lenguage)

Moments like these are why I consider this to be amongst the top of many other great adult animated shows, like Arcane, Invincible, Harley Quinn, and Blue Eye Samurai for example. They are just truly captivating in the amount of care they have for the emotional moments as well as towards the climatic action moments as well, and sometimes they combine both at the same time.
Took me a while of rewatching scenes to notice that the background track starting around 9:16 is the same as the vocal section of Owl in a Cage starting at 17:16. Love hearing it give off two completely different tones.
