    Hi Gabby! Thanks for the video! Yeah, we have some words like that in Brazilian Portuguese too. For instance, "trem", "negocinho", "treco", "coisinha", are colloquial synonyms for the word "coisa" which is the academic way of saying "thing" :)

    It happens to me sometimes but I always try to write them down and memorizing them. Especially when it comes to devices and kitchen items..thanks Gabby for this lesson.

    In spanish I think there are a lot of words to replace an specific word I don't know . And they depend on the region and country, the word more known in this sense is "cosa". But there are other ways to refer to this subject. i.e in Colombia "esa vaina"

    Hi Gabby.
    I'm from Argentina and the most common word we use is "cosa".
    It's the synonym of THING.
    I lived in the US. and met a lot of people from different Spanish speaking countries and what I learned is that each of them have their own word for this, generally speaking.

      cosa/coso is like thing, but we also say pendorcho, pirulo, pituto, socotroco :) we have a lot of this

    In Brazil we use so much "coisa", in order to say anything, for instance, when you don't know what you feel or sensation, "Estou meio coisado hoje" (I'm kinda 'coisado' today), mainly in northeast is more common!

    When my mother doesn't remember a word, she says: "bagullho", for example: "Pegue aquele bagulho que está em cima da geladeira"

    Hi Gabby, thank you for the lesson. In Russian there are such words as "штуковина" or "хреновина" (which is more rude). It seems similar to thingamajig, to refer to a tool or an object we don't know the exact name of

    Here in Brazil we have: coisa, treco, negócio. For example: "pega aquele negócio perto daquela coisa".

    In Brazil, more specifically in Minas Gerais we have a great word for these situations, we say "trem" which literally means "train", but we use this word to talk about absolutely everything, em MG everything is TREM

    Great video! We have similar replacement words in Norwegian for things we can't remember, for example "dings" or "dippedutt" (gadget), those are he two words we use that immediately come to mind.
