This is an especially useful clamp meter since it does DC measurements through clamps. The tight sight feature with display at bottom of meter can save you from standing on your head when checking current in your starting/charging system around the engine bay!!! Thanks Mr. Bill!

Hi Drew! The Fluke 189 is a fabulous meter with about every function you could think of. Except, as you mention, a clamp meter. And 189's are about $545 new now.

Looks like a nice meter, I’m a student going for my associates in electrical technology specializing in photovoltaic systems and I’ve been slowly assembling my tools.
So far I’ve bought the ideal 12 in 1 and the ideal 45-220 wire strippers. I haven’t bought a meter yet but I’m thinking of getting the Klein CL390 before school starts back in the fall.
Your tool/equipment review videos are great for someone like me with very little practical experience, I bought the 12 in 1 based on your review and I use it in class for our labs and everyone in my group is always asking to use it lol.
Anyway thanks for your videos I really enjoy watching them and hearing your opinion(s) on them as someone who has been doing it a long time when you say you like a certain tool or use it all the time I make a note of that.

Yes, I agree this is an exceptional clamp on meter at a very reasonable price. I have personally never purchased a clamp on meter because none have a clip to hold one of the two probes. Well, Ideal has solved that problem with this meter and in my mind that feature alone makes this clamp on meter stand out.

My new Klein CL800 sure has a clip to hold a probe...

Oh this would have come in so handy this week as I was running down a broken / intermittent contact wiring harness. Needed to find where current was and was not flowing, voltage loss, and amp draw. Trying to juggle my old meter, two probes and the live harness all at once was a laugh a minute.

That is a beaut! Thanks for sharing!!! No kidding when you say amazing for the price; it's a third of the price of my Fluke 376. TightSight looks incredibly cool, but I haven't hit much issue in practice as I have the 376's flexible probe as an option. You can pass it along to the next person if my entry comes up. I already have a couple similar style clamp meters sitting mostly unused behind my 376, although I grant they are not as suh-weet as the 61-757. If I were starting out and on a budget, this would likely be the one.

I have this meter, it's great. The extra display at the bottom comes so handy. The only thing I wish is that it came with the magnet mount in the box and not a separate accessory.

Bill, love the videos though I admit I’m glad we’re done with the National Championships and back to your educational wiring videos and products reviews, which I value highly. I’ve been saving up for a good clamp meter, as I’m just using a cheap no name ammeter now. Hope I win the contest, but if not I’ll be looking for the Ideal at my local shop! Keep up the great work!
