I have the small Celine trio and I agree it checks all your boxes. It’s been my most used bag and I have brought it on most of my travels since I got it. The compartments are very practical. I like the old Celine aesthetic so it brings me joy even though it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles.
I love that - I'm not writing off the celine trio just yet either, there are sooo many available for such a good deal on the preloved market!
I definitely vote for the Speedy bandolier! I looooove mine. It’s one of my perfect bags.
I have a mini reissue and a speedy B 25 DE and I don't think both are suitable for what you're looking for. The speedy is great for travel but definitely not a day to night bag for me. The mini reissue is a great day to night bag, but too small for travel. I basically think the speedy is too big for day to day yet the mini reissue is too small. I have actually been looking for bags in between this size. I travelled to Paris recently and wore my speedy daily because I do things I do on vacation that I don't daily. This includes buying random things, carrying a water bottle, etc. The speedy is very ideal for this because it's a big bag and fits a lot although I did still find it big. I am personally looking at the loewe flamenco, the loewe mini hammock hobo, coach soft tabby, keepall 25, and the Fendi Baguette.

@@abriefcaseofluxury I have yet to see the Keepall 25 close up, but I have seen reviews and it seems smaller and almost similar to the speedy 20. This may actually be the better choice than the 25. I haven't really been interested in LV since getting my speedy so I haven't been in store. I did consider the 225 size since I love the look of the reissue but, the mini for me is absolutely perfect for everything except travel. I love the size and since I have a lot of nights out, I always bring it. I saw the 225 in store and it fit almost the same. Maybe, the 226 is the better size, but for me, it loses a bit of its charm at this size. I lowkey have also looked at the Chanel mini 22 but can't justify the price. I'm really into this unstructured, flexible look that is also versatile. I strongly think, I'll probably go for the Loewe Flamenco or a similar style bag since now many brands are tapping into this silhouette.
I am also eyeing the flamingo 🦩 bag, if styled with the chain from loewe I think the bag could be very nice evening bag.
As much as I make fun of it, I keep coming back to check on it!
Echoing a prior comment - it honestly dounds like the Loewe (classic) Puzzle bag in Small would be a great contender, as it checks all of your boxes and the extra bix on security.
Curious why you think of it as a "younger self" bag. 😊 Between the Small Puzzle, Speedy B25, and Mini Reissue, i would say that the Small Puzzle is the one that I grab the most if I'm going to be out all day (and night). It's such a joy to use as well, as the leather softens beautifully. The bag conforms wonderfully to the body and and the opening has a nice give, with the bonus of the flap for extra security.
I love the mini reissue, but it quite frankly does get somewhat heavy to wear out for an entire day, with the bijou chains (and the capacity is limited).
I enjoy the Speedy B25 - it's such a carefree workhorse. But it's a bit of a hassle to get in and out of, and I wouldn't necessarily think it's a very day-to-night bag (at least in 2023/4).
Have you considered the LV Multi Pochette in an empreinte leather? It has the adjustable leather strap option like the Prada Re-edition, but is a bit more structured given that it's leather. I love the versatility of the multiple pouch options. It's actually my favorite travel bag for that reason (and can pack fairly flat as well). 😊
i'll have to go to a store and give it a second chance! The puzzle bag was one that I really liked when it first came out, and over the years, I fell out of love with it as more bags caught my attention, so I'll have to give her a second chance now!

I think Kelly 25 retourne in togo will be a good choice if budge is not an issue.
I've heard mixed reviews about how easy those are to travel with! But you're right, if budget was not an issue, and even if it wasn't my "perfect" bag, you bet I'd get a K25, even preloved! 😅
I heard the Chanel 22 is not a durable material. Heard so many people say theirs peeled very quickly. That first Celine is kind of boring looking (I hope I'm not offending anyone saying so!). Open totes, so bag-in-bag, doesn't really give you what you were looking for; you don't want to have to have another bag, to use your bag! That doesn't sound perfect. I think you won't really be happy with those contemporary bags. My vote is for the Prada, which is doing the best job going from day to night. It doesn't look too much like your bucket bag, which gives more 'day' than 'night'. Second would be the Flamenco. You didn't mention, I don't think, but I'm guessing you've considered the Puzzle and decided against it.
