I've been using this strategy since the Pacific came out. Being a hustory buff knowing this was a real strategy Japanese Zeroes used on early American aircraft.
The extra 100m actually gives the lower plane time to get away. I climb straight up and tip my nose right before i stall and let gravity make me turn faster.
Edit: they also increased the altitude AA guns can reach and disabled flares at high altitude. High altitude package is useless now. Thanks Dice. You still somehow manage to break your game for the sake of making things fair for noobs. Im not buying the next one.

Eddie C I know I just get angry when I'm trying to rank up a plane and I get shot down by aa
@Eddie C i had no issue with how strong AA is. It pushes the skill gap. But at the same time it shouldnt be able to laser beam planes out of the sky when theyre not even near it.
I don't mind a fight with an AA gun it makes it fair for both teams but they shouldn't extend the range. It gets anoying when there is that one guy that only sits in base and shoots planes whole match.

This is more effective on the BF109 because neither of the Spitfires have that spec, only the wack ass Mosquito has high altitude.

I already discovered the high altitude pack on the bf 109 g-6 four months after the release if the game. And i have to say 200 meters is a major buff because 100 meters were in my opinion useful and balanced
The funny thing is I've been doing this since the release of the Pacific, and it was somehow even more powerful than the way displayed in this video. I also remember I was using this strategy the whole game and ran a 58-0 game, so this strategy was and still is very unique.
I am so glad that this game is still alive and very well. Love this game so much. I wish this will never died. But there is nothing to avoid this game from dying. It makes me very sad indeed.
That's exactly how I configured my Corsair! The high altitude is ideal for precision dive bombing, AND this strategy that you have shown. Great vid!

I Believe you misread it he’s far higher than 200 meters. The high altitude package lets you go 600 feet higher

No but seriously this is a very good laodout, you have always the option to go safe on high altitude

This is by far from a new strategy. Some of the hardest pilots I've ever ran into to kill use the high altitude and sometimes smoke. They always stay really high and wait for a dogfight to break out then they swoop in and kill you off their teamates.
Also they will climb when attacked then smoke. When they smoke you can hardly see to shoot them. The bombers put out a lot of smoke. So then they just wait till you start to go back down and get on you and you die.
The best strategy I've came up with to avoid that attack is to fall like your going back down and give them a second to chase. Then climb right back up to your ceiling and stall again. They can't stall the same ceiling as you as easy and you can fly slowly along that ceiling. Then when you do that once or twice just dive like a bat out of hell and I often spiral and corkscrew back to the resupply.
I do this all the time with the high altitude package. Works 99.99% of the time with the Pacific planes at least. About the only way it doesn't is either multiple planes on you or they have aa helping them. Stay low and when they see you and come after you just pull up and hope like hell they dont get you lol. Thanks for giving up my secret to everyone else haha

No now I can’t use high altitude mosquito because they got it for bf 109
Its always been on the 109. All this update did was draw people attention to it. Thats how i get away from Spitfires lol

Literally been playing battlefield forever and never gave flying a try to battlefield 4.. and then not again after that. The videos have been helping me improve a lot on battlefield 5. Got lots of time currently once I live In Minneapolis Minnesota and we can’t leave our homes after 8 this week till 7 in the morning

YES!! Welcome back to BfV Nicc! Haven't played the update yet but this strategy always worked great using the G6 w/ high altitude. Wait for the Spitfire to fall, then use your higher stall to dive back on 'em.
Sometimes i use this extra 100m to become a uav by dropping flares while going back and forth, also when im using this same strategy I use the extra smoke to not get shot as much while going up and being chased
I use this tactics all the time. Just let any guy follow you and when they get stall, you just fire a gun like a maniac. Just a tip, when you let any guy follow you into high altitude, you should use smoke to block the opponents' eye. But this tactic won't be useful when the opponents also have high altitude package though. Also another tip, when you let any guy follow you into high altitude,
don't just fly straight but fly circle, use combination of spinning and smoke is the best.

Basically just every warthunder strat
This was and actual tactic against the zero but with an F6F hellcat which looked similar to the F4F wildcat which had a lower stall altitude than the zero. So when the Japanese encountered the hellcat they thought they would be able to out climb them and end up stalling before the hellcat and then the hell cat would turn to end up on the zeros tail while in a stall and down he went.

Oh I literally do this all the time. 4 light mgs and finned barrels with the High Altitude. People chase me and I literally take off. People get soo mad and keep trying to take me out. So much that they all eventually change their loadouts.
Completely off topic but shoutout to the infantry and armor who pulled off a comeback while nick was dogfighting in space
A piece of useless serendipity...
At the outbreak of WWII, the main US carrier fighter was the F4F Wildcat. The Japanese Zero pilots discovered that they could use the hammerhead maneuver effectively against the Wildcat because the Zero had a higher ceiling. The Zero would get the Wildcat to chase them into a climb, and then when the F4F stalled and started to lose altitude, the Zero would reverse their climb and nail the Wildcat in the dive.
When the more powerful F6F Hellcat entered service, the Zero pilots that tried this same tactic got smoked because the Hellcat could out-perform the Zero in almost every category, including rate of climb and ceiling. The kill-to-loss rate for the F6F jumped to 19:1.

I’ve been doing this maneuver since the pacific released.
I have always used this strategy while on the German side against British in a G6. Dive and zoom baby all day. Ppl used to be so pissed when i did this all the time to win the fight.
I was flying in jets in bf3 and 4, i was also good in dogfighting, but one week ago i started playing bf V so i've got a question, do i have to control speed in planes like it was in bf3/4 or i need to hold only W to have higher speed?

high altitude seems better suited for defensive maneuvers as a counter, you can only use that height offensively for bombing which i doubt would be accurate, thanks dice

I’ve been getting great kills by the high attitude package but with the zero and when I’m so high up I dive bomb to my targets but I keep an eye out for the Anti Air guns or other enemy planes on the stormy pacific islands or on wake island🌴🛩🌊
i experienced this a while ago on wake island. It was kinda aggravating as i was on the bad side of the deal. I would stall out and the other player would chase but I was able to quickly recover and turn around and fight by using the turbo. It was a fairly fun dog fight as we were both attempting to use our advantages against the opposing player.

I usually pull up, reduce power and they overshoot usually and i get on their tail. Ive tried this for the past hour and this is a ridiculous tactic to use. Before the patch on the Hamada map i had my spitty with the 8 dumbfire rockets and some 109 kept bugging me. I followed him and kept pulling up and going to his max alt, he had on the max alt package and i was so close to killing him each time before i stalled. Either way he died by ramming into a cliff face
Good thing AA has no problem at all shooting that high

I find it much easier to use that strategy with the zero Air to ground because of the nose guns get direct hits on the body of the course air
The should add like 15 v 15 dogfights either in a game mode by itself or just over grand operations or breakthrough. I think it would make the game much more immersive. Still In good shape though

I've actually been doing this for a while u dont even need high altitude package just the supercharger just like historically it works the best with the bf109 for its great climbing it's what i always do and get away with against spits
Try it with the BF 109-G6. No spitfire has the alt upgrade so you'll win almost every encounter. Love the content and keep it up

I love BFV in plane mode but it's really too long for waiting an aircraft sometimes. I ve tried Warthunder but with an Xbox joystick it's really hard with the yaw wobble... Hey Nicca, have you experienced with the Fliegerfaust lately? It seems to be one-shoting fighter planes.
I think they ghost buffed it. By that I mean they buffed it without saying anything. It used to drop planes to 55 health when glancing consistently and now it drops it to 45 health consistently which is a 10 damage increase. I'm one of the top 0.3% fighter pilot players and most of my gameplay is in a plane and most of the time if a fliger head on hits you it drops you to 8 health. A 10 damage increase would make it insta kill
I use high altitude and it does come in handy. Killed many and dropped my bombs on the noobs. So funny

When they stall, turn back into them and apply your airbrakes so you can take him out at a higher altitude to track attention from another enemy plane and Prince and repeated. Whatever you do, DON'T follow him to the deck.

why they had to increase range of aa now in hamada the aa just sits at base n shoots past a flag which is stupid imo.
