  • Northeast Tennessee is home to the two oldest towns in Tennessee, Jonesborough and Greeneville. In this video we visit their beautiful historic downtowns.
Greeneville, the 2nd oldest town in Tennessee, was founded in 1783. Greeneville's downtown is filled with historical significance including the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and Cemetery, 5 pre civil war churches, the Dickson Williams Mansion and General Morgan Inn.
Jonesborough, the oldest town in Tennessee, was founded in 1779. Jonesborough's historic district is like a scene from a Hallmark movie with architecture ranging from Greek Revival, Queen Anne to Federal Style. This town is home to the Historic Eureka Inn, Chester Inn Museum, Christopher Taylor House, Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum and much more.

Both towns look beautiful😊 I love the concept of you exploring more small towns in NE TN. It would be really helpful too if you could mention the population, if the towns have any bigger stores like Walmart, Target, grocery stores, etc. or how long of a drive it would be to get to those stores, how close is the nearest hospital, etc. Thank you.

Question for you Stephanie - how are the houses in this town? Is there any new developments or just insisting homes? Thanks EJ Jahnes

@@edwinjahnes2739 There is a nice variety of homes in both towns. Check out our Greeneville video posted last year. We also have other videos with more information relating to Jonesborough on our channel.

What's the largest metropolitan city that career professionals usually work out of when living in a North East TN town? Is it Knoxville?
