    Another quality video. You do a great job not only explaining "how to" but why and when. We have whole generations who want to learn that never had a pop or grandfather teach them the basics, and you're doing a great job filling the gaps. Nice work. Your friend in San Diego.

    Thanks again!
    Changed the plugs today. Your video made it go easy. Just ordered coils, since the Launch scan tool (found on one of your other helpful videos) still indicates misfires on three cylinders.

    Thanks Danny! Thank you for adding more details on the tools you used. Going to utilize your breakaway technique of slight tighten before loosening old plugs too, sounds great. Thanks!

    Hey Danny! Thanks for another interesting and informative video! Great camera angles, as usual and great editing! I have to hurry though, because it’s time to take my 2007 Element SC apart again! Ha ha… Just kidding! All the best from Florida!

    Per NGK website
    NGK spark plugs feature trivalent plating. This silver or chrome-colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. The coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without lubrication or anti-seize.
    Anti-seize can act as a lubricant, altering torque values up to 20 percent, increasing the risk of spark plug thread breakage and/or metal shell stretch. Thread breakage can sometimes involve removing the cylinder head for repair. Metal shell stretch changes the heat rating of the spark plug and can result in serious engine damage caused by pre-ignition. Do not use anti-seize or lubricant on NGK spark plugs. It is completely unnecessary and can be detrimental.

      The weird thing is the Honda service manual for these 2008-2012 Hondas says to use Anti seize on the plugs when installing.
      Honda says use anti seize, but the plug manufacturer NGK says never use it.
      Contradicting information, super helpful 😅

    Hey danny and thank you for the good videos. Wanted to ask you if there is any way to check intactness of a ignition coil , can a weak set of coil can cause a bad performance? Thank you

    • @dannysdiygarage
      @dannysdiygarage  Před 3 měsíci

      Coils usually either work or they don’t, a bad coil will cause an intermittent misfire or a completely dead cylinder, usually that’s the norm

      So in most cases the ignition coil will probably fail to my understanding?
      But in your opinion its not something that can get wear and not work well?
