Bran told the story of the Rat Cook, a cook at the Nightfort who served an Andal king who had wronged him a pie which contained the king's son (unbeknownst to said king). The scene in GoT in which Arya feeds Walder Frey his sons in a pie is a reference/hommage to that.
And the Cook was cursed to eat his young only because he violated guest right.
daemon would’ve had that forest on FIRE if it was him who saw sir criston. baela held back so well.
I love how you guys seem to understand and try to see Alicents side along with all others. While also seeing the mistakes of the Blacks. Both sides have faults and good points.
Aegon would probably turn the Red Keep into a frat house if he had his way.
The Velaryons came to Westeros and began trading with the mainlanders long before the Doom. This is likely how their house name came about. "The Valyrians" became "The Velaryons".
Harrenhall was same castle where Arya was Tywin's cupbearer.
Btw, Targaryens ARE NOT fireproof. Daenerys fireproof is the result of special magic unique to her. In the books, her unburnt magic only happens once when the dragons hatch, but the show decided to make it a permanent superpower basically. However she definitely is the only Targ with this ability
It wasn't just once though. It was her whole life up until the dragons were born. I always interpreted it as she had the power within her and she gave it to the dragons to be born and that's why she's not fireproof afterwards.

Alicent could never prevent this war even if she wanted to, I don’t understand what Rhaenyra was trying to do. Aegon would never sue for peace after the death of his son, Cole is on the march with a large host and Aemond is eager to fly out with Vhagar and spill blood.
the writers wanted to have a scene with alicent and rhaenyra that's all, the scene makes no sense whatsoever otherwise

I agree. I don't even think Alicent herself realizes how irrelevant her opinions and desires are and always have been😢 Otto put her in a dangerous position and now she has nothing to do except hope things end well.
Aegon put some of his drinking buddies on the King's Guard, that's why they seem confused, they thought he would hold them to all the vows.😊
I'm team black, but in this case I do agree with Alicent. It is too late. Even if she wanted to stop the war, she couldn't. Blood has been spilled already. Plus her son's are too war hungry to listen to her. BTW, the producers have confirmed that 3 of those dragon eggs that Rhaenyra Targaryen sent away with Daemon's daughter along with her two babies are the same dragon eggs that belong to Daenerys in Game of Thrones. 😉
Even though Alicent is a pretty despicable person in general (and life made her that way, in her mind she believes she has always done her duty while Rhaenyra just got to do whatever she wants), she isnt trolling Rhaenyra at the end here. It is too late. She is the Queen Dowager which gives her exactly zero power, and you think now that Aegon has seen his 4 year old son decapitated hes going to peacefully set aside his crown? She'd be literally laughed out of the room and never invited to a council meeting again.
Fun fact: the showrunners have confirmed that the eggs that Rhaenyra gives to Rhaena to look after in Pentos become Danaery's dragons

An easy way (for me) to remember the Andal gods (singular yet plural) is to think in terms of 3 aspects of man and 3 aspects of woman and one "neutral". Father, Smith, Warrior. Mother, Maiden, Crone. Stranger.
Those trees growing all around Harrenhall are connected to old gods magic, same type of "weirwood" net that Bran and the Three eyes raven used to connect to. That's probably why Daemon is having those dreams, he's tapping into the magic of the old gods. Notice how Alys enters the frame RIGHT when the lord says "old gods"

I'm glad Mrs October picked up on that the blackwoods and brackens have had centuries of petty beef between each other in which no1 remembers the origin that started it. 2 small houses but known all over westeros Purley because of their rivalry also yes those two houses were the two kids in s1 auditioning to be rhaynearas hand in marriage the small kid was the blackwood and the older kid the bracken

I think the thing about peacetimes is, pretty much all highborn boys are taught to fight from a young age. It's like training up an athlete from early childhood and never letting them really compete. Then there are all these glorious tales and songs of battles and knights and honour, boys and young men want to prove themselves.
Ser Criston is a horrible Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. No guard assigned to Queen Helaena. No training of the new Kingsguards, horrible as they are.
That shows Alicent's unwillingness to do what is right even if it's hard. She had an opportunity to realize what she heard was incorrect and chose to ignore it under the excuse of being in too deep. Whether on purpose or not, this war is her fault. She believed what she wanted to believe and then failed to act when she realized she was wrong. Cole and Aemond are easier to blame because they are brash, but the ones who have the mind to do right who don't are the ones who are the worst. As for Ulf....there are a LOT of dragons without dragon riders and as we seen with Jon Snow, a bast*rd can ride a dragon.
Even if Alicent admits to be wrong, it's just too late to stop the war.
I wouldn't say the war is her fault either, it's way more complex than that, just like Rhaenys said to Rhaenyra it's more due to a series of events that ended up exploding.
@@AleCozz may be, but she doesn't know unless she tries. She could have sent Ravens out letting the rest of the realm know that she misunderstood the king and that Rhaenyra is the rightful heir. That would swing most of the houses towards Rhaenyra and then she could work on her family inside the red keep. It wouldn't be easy and she would risk a lot but it would be the right thing.
S1E9 they make it really clear the plans to crown aegon were in place already
this only shows alicent was in good faith, not that the war is her fault...

@@orcocan I just spelled out an option other than that. Going straight to Aegon would be idiotic. Like I said, it wouldn't have been the easy path and it could cost her everything but she acts like she makes decisions best for the realm and that would have been the best one.

It wasn't one of those 2 kids but we do get to meet that guy in the next episode when he comes to visit Daemon.

viserys did make a choice, Alicent choosed to believe she was told something else at his deadbed, even after being told otherwise. So he couldnt really have done more than he did, ecxept for abdicating before his dead.

She did get an egg at birth but it never hatched...there is always the chance she could claim one of the riderless ones, or one of the unhatched eggs...there is no real explanation in the books as to why she hasn't tried to claim one yet...

rheanyra is not that stupid to risk going to KL (especially when she knows alicent has no power to stop anything), and alicent just doubled down on being at war, why in seven hells would she let her go and not take her hostage?
and the irony is that all the men telling rheanyra to take action are absolutely correct, she's being naive. If she really really wanted to stop the war she could just renounce her claim and go to essos or something. She wants it both ways...

Power Rangers 2017 is a very-GOOD-film.
She came to find a way to peace... but she isnt surrendering, so she is saying I came here to let you surrender to me... of course, Aegon has to be executed because he usurped the throne. Aemond has to be executed because he killed my son. The council has to be executed because they supported Aegon... why in the hell would they surrender when they all would be executed. It was fan service to "tell the truth" but completely impractical. The only possible way to peace at this point would be for Rhaenyra to surrender and Daemon is the only person who has to be executed.
Exactly, her counselors were correct. It is now time to act. Unless she planned to bend the knee and surrender, there was no way for peace.

Aegon is your typical teenager, acting out like one. He promotes his friends into positions they're not worthy to be in, like the Kings Guard. I'm not an Aemond fan but I will say he's a victim of abuse and bullying by Aegon and Rhaenyra's kids, and neglected by his parents. And Daemond, with his guilty conscience is at the wrong place to be at Harrenhal. A cursed haunted place with magic, aka the Weirwood trees. Those are Weirwood roots digging into the walls that you see and Daemond's bed is made of Weirwood. Remember Targaryen's are in tune with magic and dreams. That is Alys Rivers who said he would die there. She's a "healer" among other things. 😉
The dragon eggs they sent off with the kids are the dragons Danny had in Game of thrones. Eggs from Pentos. Well that’s my theory 😅
No, the eggs were stolen by a girl (alyssa) I think her name was and taken to essos during Jaeherys reign
George RR Martin said that Daemon was his favorite character in this universe. Now he's everyone's favorite. I don't get it myself. I like Rhaeneys!
