Emli Mercer Honey it unfortunately doesn’t work that way most of the time with powerful, rich, people with connections. They can find loopholes in the law and even sometime people within the are corrupt enough to take bribes to reduce or even eliminate the possibility of arrest.
They can hire the best possible lawyer, manipulate, pay bail, behave in prison, have powerful people claim the victim is lying to legitimize the suspect over the victim. A lot of times there isn’t enough legit proof to even bring about a charge.
It’s an unfortunate part of the US law system

So he probably wore contacts and such, and it would probably make photography easier without chucky blocky glasses in the way. But it was dark in the live it looked like maybe night or something so he would be lounging and not wanting to worry about contacts before sleeping, he probably wore glasses.

Absolutely. He mental and probably emotionally, manipulated her since she was young. Which is especially dangerous considering that's when her mind would be developing the most. Her sense of what's right and how she should be treated and her self worth are going to be completely twisted. Even though she's an adult, these mental scars carry on for a long time.

Hello. You're wrong about when Steven met Lia. She was actually 11-12 years old when he started to produce her. Not many people know this but lias whole start up was in a band called "pink army" the groupd began in 2010 and guess who produced them? Steve Wetherbee. He wrote most of their songs and had them dress up in only pink and black which is ironic considering he's saying how much he loves those colors in that clip. If you dont believe me look up the old band pink army, look in the description and you will see Steven wetherbee name at the bottom. Only reason I know this is because i auditioned for the group when I was younger but didnt make the cut. I tried DM you about this and sent proof

i understand completely. i was scouted by modeling agents when i was 13 (i’ve always been tall with “striking” features) and they told me i needed to lose inches off of my waist, thighs, and chest. i didn’t see this to be a problem & i even came to my mom so excited because they suggested they’d sign me if i lost like ~20 lbs. keep in mind i have never been overweight or unhealthy for my frame. regardless, i started weighing out all my food & being insane about calories and macros. i was 13!!! i actually did lose the weight, and i remember from then on i always thought i needed to keep losing inches. it wasn’t a matter of being prettier. i was 13 and emaciated... i’m thankful my mom recognized the red flags before i did irreparable damage to my body. being malnourished for long periods of time can have serious health outcomes

Pablo Gonzalez this is all speculation but I’d something was going on with the producer it’s likely she suffered some abuse. as a victim of child abuse, ppl like you are annoying as hell. skin color and money does not determine whether or not you suffer from trauma, the terrible people you meet and the terrible encounters you face are completely random no amount of privilege can keep you safe from that.

she's of age, there's pretty much nothing her parents could do rehab-wise, and her dad is an alcoholic, not sure about her mum.
I feel the opposite, because so many people are trying to get in touch with her. And she said her family doesn’t love her, but I feel like they probably want to help and she sees it as an attack. Just my theory, knowing how addicts behave. I think she’s isolating from the right people and staying around people who feed her addiction. :/ I’m not blaming her at all though, that’s how every addict is. It’s just sad.
My psychology prof told me when you had a traumatic experience as a child and you just keep it inside and forget it, it comes back to you when you get older and not I’m a good way. This might have happened to her but we’re not qualified enough to diagnose her and spread false things.
This is true. I tried to forget about something I experienced when I was 5 and eventually after 15 years I started having flashbacks and dreams that were super detailed and realistic. You can't just shove bad stuff to the back of your brain and expect it to stay there forever, it all comes out somehow or another!
i don’t remember anything from when i moved into my dads house at age 5 until i was 10-11 and i think that’s what happened and im so so scared that i’ll remember everything someday and ill react like that (im 17 now)

it was like an audition process. i’m the same age as lia and remember when she was on react and they would post auditions for new kids to be on the show, and i really wanted to join, but you had to stay in California for a few months. and you 100% had to have a legal parent/guardian sign the contract because of child labor hours (it was stated in the posts). don’t remember all the details but it was something like that xx
I’m only asking bc if she’s in this industry, she must have some sort of management/team/family/friend there with her to guide her to these studio rehearsals, etc. I feel that her “team” is totally letting her down. Artists need better protection, I’m sure it’s complicated, but there’s someone scheduling her and knowing who she’s with and when. Therefore, they need to help/protect her.

I believe countless men have taken advantage of Lia, probably stemming from her childhood. From what I’ve gathered I think her father did something to her as a child and that’s what she’s talking about. When you learn as a child that you are meant to be treated a certain way you may accept that same treatment as an adult. I feel so sorry for her and hope she gets the help she needs!

That “relationship” is only one of the list of things we should be worried about. Yesterday when she was on ig live, this guy came on to play his song and she asked if she could come over to his studio. Then not too long after that, this stranger comes to her house and picks her up. She definitely wasn’t sober too. I just keep asking myself, “where is her family? Friends?”. She isn’t in a position where she can make the decision to get help anymore. Someone needs to take control for her sake.

1 tinyshmitten that is what I said, i just said it differently. When your emotionally fucked up your judgement is off. You gravitate towards ppl who aren’t good for you. Obviously a mentally healthy 20 yr old wouldn’t be dating someone who is old enough to be her father.
Relationship doesn’t always mean that it was romantic. It could be an abusive mentor-like relationship. Also it doesn’t mean that she cut ties with him and it doesn’t mean the photo and livestreams are linked.

I think she's having an existential crisis, along with her trauma, or because of her trauma... I went through one last year when i turned 25. When i was getting help for a sexual assault i went through one, i suddenly started having these massive thoughts, like about life and whats the point? why are here? how did we get here? was it science? was it a greater being? whats my purpose? what happens when we die? like huge thoughts all the time, running through my head like i was fucking plato. It was really scary and i would have these out of body experiences or disassociation spells, where I would look at myself in the mirror and not be able to connect that the reflection was me. Some people compare it to a data dump on the computer its your minds way of getting rid of things youre holding onto that you dont need, to make room for new information. In the end i think she's going to come out a better person, with a better understanding of herself her past and others. if not a little hippie dippy for a while lol it happens

Slater B. If you don’t mind I have a couple questions, it’s a bit personal but what you mentioned sounds like what my boyfriend has been going through. He has been battling manic depression since he was a child, hes also bipolar. Last year his dad took his life and ever since then he started researching weird shit about Jesus and Satan and he threw his Christian views out the window and started believing in other things. He started getting super spiritual and was constantly researching super deep things and he would just talk my ear off for hours and hours about why we exist and the way our brain is set up and I literally understand none of it lol. I’m not sure if this is what you’re describing but it would make sense if so. My second question is after you experienced this did you feel better?
@@mikaylaa23 I would keep an eye out just in case its something more. I've only been diagnosed with sever general anxiety and depression. So there could be more to it if his bipolar is causing any type of delusions . BUT i was nodding my head reading cause that was me to a degree. i went through a christian faze as a youngster but stopped really believing one particular faith - which is why I would focus on my fear of being wrong about it. Also battle the idea that people have a faith or religion because it keeps these types of thoughts at bay because its something we created to comfort ourselves from these big questions and feelings. But i did feel better after and still do, You have to get him to do something else that will keep him busy, his mind busy while his meds do their work. It was hard and I hated it but when i was busy at work etc i didnt have time to think about that stuff and i started to feel better. now it feels like a vivid dream and feels so long ago and it only happened in the summer. I hope that helps xo
I experienced my first existential crisis when I was around 15, you always think it’s ridiculous after or you’re told it is by adults because of how mild it is and no one wants to be medicated if they don’t have to be, and it popped up every once in a while as I grew and snowballed into a constant daily fear and caused major anxiety and depression later in my life because it was ignored. it feels like it’s never going to go away, there’s moments where you can understand how and why people have public freakouts like Brittany Spears, it just feels like you’re choking on it and it needs to get out, someone needs to hear you or understand you, you wonder how everyone acts so normal and if you’re alone with these thoughts. You just can’t think about anything, distractions only work for so long before you associate those distractions with your fears. I had moments where I was home alone and suddenly I’d scream for help or pace back and forth wildly out of fear, I’d never breakdown in public though, I couldn’t stand it, I’d go to my car or a bathroom to cry. I still deal with it a bit, but I’m getting help and have been taught coping methods but a lot of the time just having someone you love and trust next to you to hug or simply lay by can mean the world to someone going through this. A lot of this can be the idea of being alone. It’s different for everyone but just remember to enjoy what you have and what you can do and what you’re grateful for, think about the now Because now you are alive and you are here, and you have too much to do to worry about later.(more importantly consistent help from professionals is the easiest way to start overcoming this.)
Another concerning thing is that she talks/speaks like a child sometimes but is legal. He probably takes advantage of that fact.
I went to college to be a journalist and I ended up changing my mind because I didnt really like the whole scene surrounding it in my area (I live in a very hateful town in the south) but I still really love researching and discussing topics and your channel honestly makes me consider just freelancing it

yes, yes. Traumatic memories do go away, especially within your childhood. It’s called a repressed memory; your mind literally pushes it to where you don’t remember it to help you cope with it bc especially as a child, you do not have the tools to cope and deal with that. It’s always nice to be aware of other people that have experienced repressed memories bc so many people think it’s nonsense, but it is real.

after watching this and remembering the previous scandals with record producers, I really hope she is okay?I worry that what happened to her is a similar situation. We should really have a discussion honestly about how management in the music industry can lead to abuse and in many cases horrible things happening. It seems like she has a form of ptsd and I really genuinely wish her the best recovery. The sleepless ness and anxiety and depression of ptsd can be the roughest thing. I'm 25 with PTSD and have been dealing with it for well years since before I was 20. Recovering is a constant battle. I hope people support her and keep an eye on making sure shes safe. Sometimes even after getting out of a bad place its easy to laspe back into abusive situations. Sorry for rambling in your comments Spill Sesh. I just felt such an emotional reaction to this.

@@nikki1932 Well in a lot of cases PTSD can develop from situations where someone was abused in their teens (And I think theres some solid signs of that) as well as the repressed memories being something that frequently happens with PTSD. I also see some of the symptoms I've experienced in a few of her sort of mannerisms? Im not a psychologist or a trauma expert by any means so don't take my word as fact. I just kind of get that vibe? Also dissociative episodes which she seems to be experiencing are very linked to certain forms of ptsd.

Honestly sounds like she’s dealing with mental health and addiction. From dealing with it my whole life from family and myself it sounds like it. I hope she gets the help she needs. Childhood trauma is the #1 reason people turn to drugs. And he may not want it on live if he were participating as well.
I have tons of trauma in my childhood and the only reason I have been able to stay away from drugs is knowing about the genetic addiction in my family. When I was 15, I was peer pressured into taking like a sip of alcohol and as soon as I did, something in my brain switched and started immediately craving it. I was like no no nooooo this is not good. This is not what we like. For several weeks after that, I would randomly crave alcohol. Just from that one sip. It was actually scary not being in control of that.

I have a lot of repressed memories from early childhood thru 8th grade. Just little things but still. To the point where I forget parts and things about my dad and it’s been four years since he’s passed away but it’s terrifying to remember certain things about my life. Actually my brother has schizophrenia and sometimes people have something that can go along w it called anosognosia and my brother has it it’s basically like they don’t know they have schizophrenia and they think they’re fine and will refuse medicine and treatment. Not saying she has it but just bc you mentioned she said she knows she doesn’t have schizophrenia
Brother has the same thing. He’s literally convinced to cross the Canadian border and has been hospitalised twice. The second time he was hospitalised they found him in the middle of Alaska. Pretty sure he was freezing :/

As someone was abused as a kid you definitely block out the trauma I feel till it needs to come out or you can handle it. Mine came rushing back at 13 hitting puberty and was and is the root of my depression and drug addiction. 6 years clean now! But where are her parents or any decent person in her life..!?
