I tried the faded serum after listening to all the hype and I am so glad I did. In just a few weeks it has turned around a nasty scar near my mouth. Other products helped but this one just cleared it up after I struggled with it for years. I read a review on the mists that said you should rub it in and that'll get rid of the stickiness. Hydroquinone is "not the devil". Watch Dr Dray's video on it, where she explainins why people are hesitant to use it, and how to use it effectively and safely. Also the illogical reason that it is no longer available of the shelf in the USA. The hydroquinone cream I use is the John Plunketts Superfade Original. The larger size original formula is the same formula as the smaller tube for the face, just more economical. I'm in Australia.

The Faded serum has helped me tremendously, HOWEVER, I feel like the batches are inconsistent, and the product oxidizes (my guess) over time. With a fresh tube, the smell is somewhat bearable, but as time goes on the smell gets worse. With my latest tube, I noticed a slight fragrance, and the smell wasn’t as bad as it normally is. I haven’t paid attention to the ingredients lately, so perhaps the formula has changed. If I remember correctly, coconut oil has always been an ingredient in the product, but perhaps they experimented with taking it out? Regardless, I still think it’s an effective product from personal experience! It’s a great alternative to a prescription product.

I'm so glad this was a mostly positive review; I LOVE these products! I stick to drugstore brands like LRP and CeraVe, but Faded and Like Butter (the serums -- definitely no interest in the sprays) are the two expensive products that I repeatedly purchase. Faded is to be used very lightly and you have to start slow and work your way up to avoid breakouts, but it has helped by hyperpigmentation by an insane degree. I use the Like Butter just the way you did: I put it on before bed and don't remove it. It makes my extremely dry skin so incredibly soft. I really enjoy both!

This was so helpful! I have seen them pop up in targeted ads and was curious about their products. This reminded me of a question I’ve been wondering about lately: what are the different coconut-derived ingredients that lean comedogenic and which are the coconut-derived ingredients that are usually refined enough not to trigger the traditional coconut sensitivity? Paula’s Choice lists some versions of coconut-based ingredients as unfairly vilified and not pore-clogging in general but I’m starting to get confused. Cocokind spf has coconut alkanes and that seems to be more traditionally seen as pore-clogging than others (and happened to cause breakouts in my skin). I know ingredient-based recommendations are sort of annoying, but is there like a “safe” list of coconut-derived ingredients vs. ingredients that are more commonly irritating? Just a question I’ve been coming up against as I try to focus on a hydrating mineral spf that does not cause clogged pores.

I noticed maybe some improvement (rosacea, oil/combo skin with hyperpigmentation from freckles and acne), but not enough to continue. The only thing I didn't like is how tacky it is, so if I'm layering products I put it on last (but before sunblock of course). They must've heard your comment about the size! And unlike Ulta idk if Sephora has a return policy bc any time I’ve had a bad reaction to a product I bought it specifically from Ulta JUST IN CASE I needed to return it bc trying things is such a hit or miss for me. But I need a stable routine but also need to figure out which products work for my skin vs those who don’t. So it’s the unfortunate gamble. 😕

I have eczema and they posted a pic on their Twitter acct showing a before/after of a user eczema scar clearing up. I literally purchased faded for this reason and it did nothing!! I now use it on my body to not waste product, but I was very underwhelmed. I knew I didn't want the body sprays. That's a lot of money already spent. The faded stunk really bad so apparently they reformulated it. Maybe that's where the confusion about the fragrance is coming from. I have a tube from when they first launched & threw my box out so I can't confirm the ingredients either. I won't be purchasing again.
FYI, the Skinsmart antimicrobial spray has faded and overall helped my eczema more that Topicals. Anyone reading this that has eczema should run and get that spray! I just put Vaseline on top after I spray and voila!

I have battled eczema off and on since I was in high school. Flare-ups were usually on my hands but also the inner elbows, small of my back, and lower thighs. And yes, often I couldn’t sleep because of the intense itch/scratch cycle. Since following Dr. Dray, I have been fanatical about keeping my entire body moisturized. That’s my cure. Looked up this video as soon as I was done putting the Faded Topicals as a mask. My experience with it is that it spreads nicely, leaves a glow, but much of it does not absorb into my skin (have tried on washed damp face or after serum or lotion) and begins to pill as soon as it dries, even with a very light coat. Another observation that I do not see discussed here is the VERY strong sulfur smell. I know sulfur can be good for acne, so I kind of enjoy it, but this and the pilling is why I use it as a mask now. I don’t know if it has been effective, since I also use Tretinoin (0.05, primary care) and hydroquinone 6% (Musely). If I had to simplify (i like to experiment, hey), I think consistently practicing a double cleanse, moisturize (love Eucerin, CeraVe, Aveeno, etc), sunscreen (UVB and UVA!!), hats, hats, hats, and tretinoin (love) has done (and will continue to do) the bulk (97%) of the work. Lol

I got Faded due to the impressive ingredient deck. Seems like it contained all the active ingredients to treat hyperpigmentation. However, I have abandoned using it with about half tube left because 1) the sulfur smell, 2) greasy and slides around, never seems to soak in, 3) didn’t notice much improvement. It is possible they added fragrance now since the earlier version that I got had really strong unpleasant smell that lingers.

I started with weekly application and slowly amped up to daily. At the beginning, my hyperpigmentation from old acne faded considerably and quickly (I'd say about 60% reduction in the 1st 3 months). I do still see improvement, but it's slower now. I will admit that I haven't been as regular as I was before, I've been using it mabe 2-3 times a week in the last 2-3 months. I focus on my problem areas and use a pea size amount everytime. The "egg-like" smell doesn't bother me. I also use it once a day, during my PM routine. I'm grateful I didn't get any sensitivities or breakouts from the formula. However, once I'm done with the tube I don't think I'll be repurchasing (not because of performance, but just because I like trying new products - I'm eyeing Eadem's Dark Spot Serum (a whopping $68!!! :() or Regimen Lab's Level Serum).
