That first silver age Scarecrow is such a cool find! The flea markets in my area usually have nothing fancy.
Mine too! usually 1 in 100 trips results in something - the other 99 trips I usually walk away with nothing or everything is over-priced
Wasn't expecting my tiny LCS on here. Bob at Storm watch is the nicest guy!
Can't believe the low prices you paid for some of those key books! I think many of those sellers were rather asleep at the wheel and you took great advantage! I am amazed at the low prices and values on some of those Silver Age Green Lanterns!
I think so too! I've gotten a lot better at passing up meh deals so these days I only buy something if it's a great deal
I know right, it’s crazy. Might have to take a drive & go hunting myself after watching this.
Great video man. Love the knowledge and the enthusiasm. Great finds!
I'm glad you enjoyed the watch! It's always good to spread knowledge
@@MintHunterComics Bro that New Mutants you were holding was their first graphic novel.
Thanks for the support Comic and Pop-Culture fans! don't forget to LIKE, subscribe and COMMENT down below for entries into the 5,000 subscriber giveaway! Every comment and like per video counts as ONE entry! The complete Legends of the dark knight run could be YOURS!
Love that New Mutants. Great show, man! Eye candy for comic folk! This was fun. thanks.
Hahahaha that's the goal!
To be perfectly honest, I'm quite envious of your knowledge of all these keys and issues to look out for. I'm still so overwhelmed with the massive pools of Marvel and DC 😱 your videos help certainly help point me in the right directions 😎👌
I still feel overwhelmed sometimes. I don't and can't know it all, but I do my best to familiarize myself with the small medium and large keys!
These videos make me very happy. Thank you!
Good! Haha
Glad you went to the Comic Book Store in Glassboro, love the place and staff (especially Tim and Al).
Great store! and well organized!
Thanks for all the effort you put into making this video! I just started seriously collecting comics a few months ago (but have a sprawling baseball card collection and some coins and currency), so any knowledge I can get from watching videos is great. Baseball card collecting has gotten a bit crazy with prices and very crowded, which is one of the reasons why I'm into comics now. I recently scored a 1991 X-Men #1 variant with Magneto on the cover in a dollar box and I'm starting a high quality early 1987 Superman run because those are the first comics I ever bought at the local drugstore back when comics were only $1 or less.
Going back and getting the first comics you used to own and love is the greatest feeling - and yes prices are ridiculous for all hobbies rn it seems
omg the invincible comic. I recommend you read that if you haven’t it’s absolutely amazing
I've since read lots of invincible - it's awesome!
So cool to see someone in my neck of the woods in Delaware. The Comic Book Shop is one of the best stores around.
Dude it really is, and the woman behind the counter was badass. Super friendly and has an awesome dog lol
WOW! I would love to have that many shops in my area. Outstanding finds very jealous of the Batman book. Well done 👏🏼
Thanks so much!
Awesome video, very informative and fun to watch. Too cool that you give books to your friends!
Great video, some really great finds with great prices. Keep the videos coming
I'm now that guy buying comics when I was too broke as a kid to afford many. Loving these books once more. I'm mostly into the newer stuff or 90's X-Men. o7
That's awesome man! hahaha - that's what I do!
You should listen to spaced by the Smashing pumpkins
@@Utubesanarc okay I listened intresting acid song.
So many cool books! Haven't gotten anything recently, but I did get Special Marvel Edition 15 a few years ago for $7 in Fine condition at an antique shop. The hunt is what makes this such a great hobby. Love your videos!
That is awesome! that's way even better than the deal I got!
Dude!! Totally enjoyed your madness!! So many GREAT adds to pick up.. Love your prowess!! Awesomeness at it's finest!! SUBSCRIBED!!
Awesome thank you! WOOTWOOT! Welcome to the fam Komic Boiiiii
Refreshing to see someone into DC and slabbing for personal collections instead of “speculation”. Subbed up and a fan
Thanks Drew! yeah I'm a huge DC nut!
Great video! I love the way you breakdown the values
I really enjoyed the show I hope you do it again month by month and just add them all together. Very informant. very entertaining. It was fun to watch you have a good time. thank you for sharing.
That's the plan! well not for MAy anyway - I need to financially recover a bit haha
Awesome! The comic book shop! In de is my lcs! Got comics in my pull box right now waiting for tomorow. I love them. Their pup often meets me at my car. Have many good stories over the years there. And between books one was where i played pokemon in the 90s. Loved seeing you in my hood.
You got it man! yeah I'd love to come back down there but it's a bit of a hike - can't beat their selection though
I'm loving DC comics too because of characters such as Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, Hush and some other I saw on DC animated movies and others.
Hopefully when the pandemic ends, all of us will get to see comics in antique stores, thrift shops and other places.
Subscribed too.
Thanks Miguel! the end is near! haha
Scarecrow is one of my absolute favourite Batman Villains second only to Mr. Freeze. That cover is just so iconic and makes Scarecrow so intimidating.
Also I had no idea Simon Baz first appeared in Trinity War damn.
Great video! As a Silver Age Green Lantern collector you are fast becoming my favourite comic-tuber. While the whole comic spec world is distracted by Marvel, now is a great time to be picking up those slept-on DC Silver Age keys.
I have to go back to the last stop in the video cuz they had some seriously high grade silver lantern keys!
Cool video! And I live in the Philly area, so a number of these stores are close. Until last week, I hadn't been in a comic book shop since I moved to this area more than a decade ago. During that time, I also hadn't touched my collection, which was in a storage area in the basement of my building. But in April, I carried all of the boxes up to my apartment and began cataloguing every issue. Then when I eventually went to a local shop to get bags, boards, etc., I ended up buying a number of variants and have been making multiple trips since. I've been meaning to visit Comic Universe, which is close to where I live. I've driven by The Comic Book Shop on Marsh Road many, many times but have never stopped. Will have to make trip down there soon. Great finds, by the way. You hit the Green Lantern lottery.
The green lantern lottery is right haha! And wow there's some great shops in Phill! Glad you've come to find em! I'm not much of variant guy anymore but that's dope!
Hey, James! I love your videos! I started collecting back in late 2020 with Spawn. In fact, issue one was my first ever Spawn comic. I’m probably going to pick up another one when I get the chance so I can submit it out and make the big bucks!
Amzing finds man! That haul is worth thousands!
It really is! I've had a lot of losses recently so this came at the perfect time!
I cant believe you got all those amazing comics! good for you :)
Thanks Adrian!
"ill just give it to a friend" i wish i had friends like you. lol
Awesome video!! Looks like you got some great deals. Wish I was with you to shop at those places. 😎
Best vid yet pls make more of this content it’s brilliant
Thanks Naureen! I'll keep the goods coming!
Great finds and information.... just subbed ... some great keys the shops had but like how u didn't go to heavy and spent the money carefully... thank for sharing yeeeaghhh Boii👍💯👌
Thanks for the sub! and yes you have to set budgets areallyyy stick to em which can be tough but if you don't... you'll go bankrupt! hahaha
I am still stunned you found that 1st scarecrow book in an antique store! That is insane.
One of my best finds. ANYONE else could have picked it up from there just as easily
@@MintHunterComics because of you and these videos imma definitely hit up my local flea markets and antique shops. Hopefully I find some gems like you did and also you have a new subscriber! 👍🏾
You scored some pretty cool comics! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching Jim! you've got an entry in the 5,000 sub giveaway!
Very Nice haul. That Batman 189, especially, was a PHENOMENAL buy. Getting a key silver age Batman in a nice mid+ grade...nice. 👌
Thanks man! it really is - and it's even higher grade than my last crappy version so it'll replace it nicely
If your in the area. You should check out Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, NJ
I had to look it up to see if that was a real place hahaha
I like this format, regardless of the video length. A lot of great stuff all at once.
Good to know! I was a bit worried the vid would be too long for people so I cut as much as I possibly could and It's STILL 40 mins after all that! hahaha
For a one month haul, you did amazing. I would love to have found some of those deals or even own a couple of them books. Can’t wait to hear what grades you get
Thank you so much!
Loving these videos! Was so good to see Stormwatch Comics. That was my LCS for decades before I moved away 2 years ago. Bob, the owner, really is the nicest guy ever! My other favorite shops in the philly area that you should check out if you haven't already:
Wade's Comic Madness in Levittown, PA
Frankenstein Comics in Woodbury, NJ
Garden of Earthly Delights in NE Philly (When overstocked, they do BYO Short Box and you can fill it with dollar books for $40)
Heroes in Burlington, NJ
Happy Hunting!
He really was the nicest dude - you're the third person to mention Wade's comic madness! okay maybe I really need to get out there and check!
Just found this comic haul and I have some of the newer keys. Great to get a sense of their value.
Found a GL Quarterly 8 today at the local flea for $3. Would not have known about it unless I watched your video this past week. Thanks.
That is awesome! woohoo!
WOW...fantastic finds. I could only dream of a haul like that. You must have a photographic memory for covers to be be able to score like that. Oh by the way...SLAB THE SCARECROW. 😆
It's a lot of memorization! Haha
Now that’s a great haul! Cool awesome books!
Yes it was! thanks!
You visited so many shops I’ve been to lol this was cool to watch. And great books you picked up! I say submit that scarecrow appearance, it should be worth it
Joe we gotta do a tour together sometime. You've still got my email let's do a Sunday at cyborg and you can get your statue!
Some good books. I'm on a roll lately for finding good books in the back bins myself. Great content...just found your channel and subscribed.
Awesome! Thank you! welcome to the party! lol
I spotted Green Lantern 196 with the cool Howard Chaykin cover. Nice.
The cover on that Batman 106 is just so good, another great video man!!
It really is, I think its going to be a modern classic
I really enjoy the style of your videos! Great haul!
Thanks my man! A lot of editing went into this bad boy
That iron man run dude!! Love it!! Great video man ❤👍
Love your green lantern collection and haul!!
Thanks so much! It's my pride and joy :)
Pretty cool to see my LCS in the video, I am going to have to check out some of the others you visited. Glad you found some great deals in your travels.
Very cool - which one was yours?!?
@@MintHunterComics The Comic Book Store in Glassboro is my LCS, I agree the wall books can be a bit pricy but they have some wiggle room and the staff is really friendly. I also grew up going to Stormwatch Comics when I was in Jr./Sr. high school. I need to get over the bridge soon and check out some of the PA stores. Also, hoping the cons return soon.
Awesome finds! I sold a 5500+ collection over 7 years ago as my son had zero interest in it. I just started collecting last year but only for artists and for reading! And yes, I try not to think about the all those single issues I used to have and now see at ridiculous prices!
Oh man - hopefully you at least got a decent $$$ from em!
Yea i sold a Batman Gotham adventures and now they are really high
Great video. Glad to see another Green Lantern fan
The best! always a fan - for life
Wow you got some awesome books! I am going to have to look out for those green lantern books.
Maybe I'll see you my duplicates! Lol
Great finds!! Enjoyed riding along with you to the shops. This vid made me happy. I found 80% of these issues NM for a dollar in different places. What's funny I won and auction for the same GL silver age issues in 8.0s for about $20 a piece. I don't really care to submit books but I did just submit my 2nd book because my LCS gives their discount with free shipping. It is first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in comics.
Oh nice! Also those books in dollar finds are sweet finds!
I would love to get a slabbed power rangers book
Damn i'm super jealous of the Brother Voodoo pickup for that price! Also first scarecrow for that price is awesome! Good haul man!
I know right?!
Wish I had this knowledge of what to look for. Just started but learning each day
What a haul man🙌🙌 talk about getting that shang chi just in time😂 Batman is my dude too so that scarecrow book is by far my favorite
JUST in time too - wow
Great finds!!
Thanks Nick!
Awesome haul, man!
Glad you enjoyed it! I know I certainly did!
Great haul man! If it were me I'd have that 1st silver age appearance of Scarecrow graded.
And maybe get a really crappy version to fill in the blank for my raw collection, perhaps!
Great video Very enjoyable
Mint-Hunter Comics. I had a comic book hull 2 weeks ago at a Yard sale were I bought a long box of comics for $30. Turns out all valuable comics came up to $75-$80 total.
If you're ever up in the Northeast, Ohio area you gotta go to Comic Book City in Madison, OH, highly reccomend it!
I have a cousin semi near there! Maybe I'll hit it up once I'm there!
@@MintHunterComics yeah they even have their own CZcams Channel and Facebook Group called Comic Problem E, you should check them out!
@@benportzer Oh damn, will do!
Ontario St. in Philly is huge and I go there a couple times a year. Great place! He does need some organizing but it would be a big project.
It would be be cool to do this trip again in the spring.
Me and john bust our butts to make sure the shop is very competitive with online markets and try to also be fair with our grading. Thanks for the positive feedback on the shop from :mike from comic universe. I literally just missed you by a day. I'm usually in on Mondays giving john a hand
Love love LOVE that shop man - if it was a bit closer I'd go EVERY weekend!
You've got pretty good taste in comics. I like the older Batman and Green Lantern also.
Great video man! I would love to see a follow up vid comparing the CGC grades to your estimated grades.
Will do! it'll take like 6 months to get back from CGC though hahaha!
Really burning through the gas tank on this trip, but we appreciate seeing your comics haul. 👍
See what I do to deliver good content? hahaha
Nice video. Love your passion for comics.
Glad you like them! I LOVE comics haha
Great video! Super jealous of the glut of comic sources you have around you!
The Philly area is a reallyyyy good spot
I have X-Factor #6 plus the first 12 issues; thanks for your video-I am learning a lot from your content.
Good haul really appreciate the info you give my head be spinning tho😄
Hahaha oh no!
I love these videos. That silver age Scarecrow is sexy! 🔥🔥🔥 I think the lesson learned is I gotta find more flea markets! 🤑
Flea markets, friends, estate sales. Ebay is too high right now so you've got to look elsewhere!
I wish I had this many comics book stores in my close area. I only have about 3 in the Austin area. But last week I went to 7 stores in San Antonio, but still spent the most in Austin, on the way back.
Oh wow James! I know I'm catching this video a year after you posted but I didn't realize you were in my area. The first shop you went to Comics Lair in Trenton NJ is right down the street from where I grew up and is one of the shops I used to hit up. So cool man. Not sure of the timeline but unfortunately the owner of that store had to close for a while because his wife passed away from the virus. I was saddened to read this on a Google review after some joker was complaining that the store didn't have consistent hours.
You found some great books.we don't have antique shops or flea markets near me, and my LCS definitely needs some new stock.
Sometimes they're space and then BAM something good comes in! LCSs are having a hard time because people aren't selling their collections to them anymore
Nice haul! I only have two lcs around me and I rarely see anything like those books you got.
Oh wow! and it's hit or miss! sometimes it'll be 6 months of nothing and then BAM
Like 477: Hafa adai(Guam aloha) James! Great Video! I love finding Keys during any Chase! Enjoy The Chase! IslandJ
Thanks! Will do! got a banger of a chase video dropping in about an hour!
You got some great books!!! The Comic Book Shop in Wilmington is a cool shop, also had Dave Michelinie there for a signing....got a bunch of my stuff signed by him, needless to say. Might have to check out a few of the other stores, although I hate driving into Philly (that's why I stick to the Brave New Worlds out by me....even though it's a smaller shop) and trying to find parking and stuff down there. Always picking up books, although not nearly as many keys (or as in good a shape for some of them) as you, but it's fun to watch what others are getting.
Hahaha that's true - the worst part about Philly shops is the parking (yes I did get a parking ticket btw lol) and the TRAFFIC yoooo!!
YOU WON THE 5,000 SUBSCRIBER GIVEAWAY DUDE! Message me to confirm the "Legends of The dark Knight" Entire run! congrats!
I'm guessing that shop thay had silver age Aquaman obtained them just before the film was released. Used to have some of those books you got. Didn't go for anywhere near what you specing them at. Oh well. It is what it is. Great vid.
I'm thinking that's probably what happened - the first black manta ended up costing $200 but worth it!
nah believe or not they came in a collection after the movie dropped with a ton of doom patrol
Great show
Thanks my man!
Just FYI, the New Mutants Graphic Novel isn't a magazine. It may be a similar size but that's the only similarity. Marvel Graphic Novels were squarebound books with higher price tags than magazines and were only distributed in comic shops and selected bookstores (not on newsstand racks like magazines) and had cardboard stock covers and high-quality thick pages rather than the paper covers and cheap (often newsprint) pages of magazines.
I guess I should stop calling those things "magazines!" and yes they are a completely different and better material - you're right!
The point of them was to get them into Book stores.. A DC E.g. is The Killing Joke. Square bound // prestige format.
That was an amazing comic book run. 🙂
I think so too!
Nice haul. Congrats.👌
Thanks Juan Carlos!!!
I’m good friends with a bunch of the stores you went too, great video! Next time your in the area (South Jersey) hit up Panther Comics, it’s a shop I work at and tons of books you’ll be looking for!
Great haul. Especially the Shang Chi.
Thanks for watching! and can you say GOOD TIMING? this was RIGHT before the trailer dropped...
Great haul. Just stumbled upon your channel. Subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you! and Welcome to the mad house! sorry I went for a joker vibe there
In South Jersey too....gotta checkout shop in Oakyn
Will do!
Great finds! Hope you get the grades you hope for
I feel that I decided the grades very conservatively (I'm hoping for even HIGHER!)
This is the first video of yours that I’ve stumbled across and it seems like you live near me because these are all shops I’ve been to. The Brave New Worlds in Willow Grove in my main shop. Maybe I’ll catch you around sometime.
Maybe we'll bump into each other!
literally just brought my first set of comics mostly marvel cant wait too see them
Such a solid haul!!
Thank you!! 😁
oh man i have trying to complete my Legends of the dark knight collection , its a fun set to collect for, great video
You've now got an entry!! Just make sure to like as well, I have a couple vids a week, each time you like and comment is an entry!
Wow that new mutants is really cool
Glad I got three of em!
This has motivated me to get back out. I live in Bucks County so this is helpful.
Awesome man! go to Cyborg one in Doylestown! you'll be very happy
Power Girl and the many Green Lanterns are great finds. Mongul, Black Manta and Doctor Polaris are solid villains. First Silver Age Scarecrow has a really high value! Yeah Guy as Warrior, Kyle Rayner and Sodam Yat! First Hardware for a dollar is a good deal. Oh nice, 1st Simon Baz! As for me I bought a comic lot mainly consisting of DC Rebirth number 1s.
Some of those Rebirth 1s are pretty nice. (Weird to think that was 6 years ago...)
Winning that giveaway would be the greatest thing to happen to me lol!! But great video man! Keep up the good work and congrats on the finds!
You're in!
