I love this illustrator, so basically he said he use polychromos colored pencil and clairefontaine ( what thickness?) paper for his work?

from what I understood he now uses Fabriano paper but used Clairefontaine for a long time. He likes smooth paper as it captures better the gesture of the hand.

He said he likes hard pencils with those Faber castel, and from what he's saying it seems he uses rough Fabriano and smooth Claire Fontaine paper, it depends. He said he likes Claire Fontaine because it has an ivory tone that he likes, it's more warm. Smooth sheets, and he explains that the paper doesn't have grip to overlay different colors because the pencil would slip on the previous color, so he thinks about it before and paint the right amount of color, knowing he will then paint over with another one.
