Buonasera a tutti...ritengo Mikaela la numero 1 di sempre,ha dimostrato tanto e con continuita'...l'anno 2020 purtroppo e' stato frastornato dalla perdita del padre che le ha fatto perdere concentrazione,ma vedrete che quest'anno 2021 dimostrera' ancora una volta QUANTO vale...tornare a trovare una forma fisica perfetta non e' facile anche per lei,ma poco x volta e' riuscita a ritrovare la retta via...sara' che sono innamorato di questa ragazza,ma sono sicuro che per parecchi anni sara' sempre li sul gradino piu' alto del podio

If everyone knew how hard it is to even ski a course on the WC they would understand. Skiers are some of the best athletes and Mikaela is a once-in-a-century type of athlete. Her dominance is so complete, and her competition is great as well. I have been watching WC skiing since the 90s and she is easily the most impressive athlete along with Lindsey Vonn. The only reason I don’t count her above Vonn yet is Lindsey was an amazing speed skier and that is a whole different skillset requiring some big brass ovaries.

agreed, her humility is her greatest asset--always deferring to M. Schild's shoulders she's standing on. We're so lucky to be watching her legend grow, no doubt she'll pass the equally humble Stenmark, possibly before she's even 30!

Without a doubt, a beyond phenomenal natural talent who, like her peers and predecessors has worked so hard to achieve, aided and abetted by the compliment of suppliers and staff that make it all come together. May her career continue to blossom. But, none of this would have been realized - Shiffrin's victories - were it not for Oprah. It was Oprah - the greatest ever, who taught Shiffrin how to ski, run gates. Really. No, really. Oprah is the best at everything.

Awsome, she gets it all: SL, GS, SG, and wc. Her tears, were they of joy? or rather... of anguish? As in "What the hell am I left with to do, now? I'm 24, I've won everything, everywhere, I've crushed everyone... Do I have to go on? Do I want to go on? What's the point? Is there any point in competing when you're merely repeating yourself? Is there any point in competing when your only challenger is yourself?" I dunno, I'm just wondering. Hell, maybe she'll go Federer on us!

Great video. I agree that the statement “Most impressive season THIS sport has ever seen” is correct, but I would say that besides Simone Biles and maybe Michael Phelps I cant think of any individual athlete in ANY sport that was that dominant in a season.
al chu the only thing that I feel makes her season the greatest just about anyone has ever seen is that people have no idea how many variables are at play in the sport of skiing. In swimming and gymnastics the surroundings and the effort are always quantifiable. In skiing, you contend with fog where you can’t see the next gate in front of you, rain that sometimes fogs up your goggles, snowing so hard it also messes up your vision, equipment failures, wind and terrain changes (I used to race, and the terrain WC athletes ski nearly every race is almost impossible to finish, much less at the speed they do). Also, they inject the courses with water so it is plate ice...even most good skiers wouldn’t make it down the hill without either falling or stopping to check their speed.
Kelly Slater 11x surfing world Champion had many dominant seasons, won 5 consecutive titles, youngest and oldest to win world title- and he's still going at age 47, not to take anything away from Mikaela, she's well on her way to being the GOAT, but surfing gets overlooked, and talk about inconsistent conditions, riding on an unpredictable moving wall of water. Just saying
She is the most dominant athlete in the world, i believe only Tiger Woods in is prime was equal to her yet she barely make the news...
