      Agreed, but The March of the Black Queen from the Queen II album is a better song.

    The only person who ever knew what the lyrics meant has been dead for nearly 30 years (R.I.P. Freddie).
    Like a lot of Queen songs the writer(s) refused to explain their lyrics, so the meaning is left to the listener.
    There are a few which leave little room for doubt, try 'Death On Two Legs' Official Lyric Video or 'The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke' with an image of the painting of the same name (by Richard Dadd) to hand.

      This is a song about Freddie come out of the closet and killing the boy/man who his mom thought he was.

    BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY was released in 1975. I was in High School. Hey Bo Rap was just certified diamond sales status by the RIAA. It is the most streamed & viewed song in the 20th Century. First song to reach over 1 billion views on CZcams pre1990s. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. It was #1 in three different decades 1975, 1991, & 2018. Freddie left the interpretation up to the listener but it’s speculated that he was killing his heterosexual self to become the man he’s meant to be. But he’s afraid to tell his mother so that’s why he wishes he was never born. The middle section is the struggle & consequence of his decision (Bismillah .... Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me) until the last section where he accepts his fate “nothing really matters to me ... any way the wind blows”. Freddie said he loved saying the word “Beelzebub”.🤣

    What most people don't realize about this video and it's significance is that this was the first of it's kind. No other band had ever done a "movie", "video" to promote a single, or an album before this. This video inspired every other band in the world to try and replicate this process and it also help to create MTV and VH-1. Without these kind of music videos, there would never have been the cable TV stations. Please react to The March of the Black Queen, 1974, from the Queen II album. That song was the prelude to Bo Rap.

    The song is unique because it's several genres all in one, there is a ballad part, an operatic part, and a hard rock part. Freddy explained the song as a fantasy and about relationships. In the lyrics he's not confessing that he killed someone else, he was confessing to his mama that he just killed his former self, and sometimes he wished he never been born at all because he is ashamed and doesn’t want to disappoint his mother. Using a metaphor to basically say his old self was gone and he was embracing his new sexuality. But a lot of people say the true meaning behind the song is something that nobody really will ever know.

    • @susanengland3919
      @susanengland3919 Před 3 lety +1

      Actually Freddie said everyone could decide for themselves what it meant to them.

    I subscribe to you now......this song many have said he killed he hetrosexual life, but he never said he was gay. He said if f.... all and everyone. I think he was bisexual. He lived with Mary Austin at list for six years. And he never let her down, she was his wife as he said. Thank you for great react....I love it....lol 👑

    Shedding his old self and being true to himself (his sexuality)..he nver told his parents that he was gay/bi because it was a terrible evil in his religion (Parsi) and didn't want to cause them pain...his real name is Faroukh Bulsara...he was struggling with his demons for sure but when he accepted his true sexuality , not publically though, he felt better and less tortured...his fiance became his best friend and wen he passed she inherited most of his fortune...Do SOMEBODY YO LOVE live in Montreal and PLAY THE GAME live at Milton Keynes and react to BORAP live in Montreal in Montreal
