"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant" -Robert Louis Stevenson
Breakdowns are just character building exercises, you can moan and shout as much as you like but it wont fix itself. Thanks very much for sharing and love you sense of humor.
I'm a local Minnesota man just want to say that I'm new to your videos but really enjoy them keep it up
moral to the story, never mess with Captain Jeffery John. BOOM
Glad it didn't start a fire. Two thumbs up for a wet & cool fall.
5 years ago an uncle had JD 9770 burn out from underneath him while harvesting soybeans. He'd blown it off when refueling and 3 hours later he was crawling thru the fire to survive. Only RH drive tires were the only ones that didn't melt off the rims. JD later determined the cause was a rupture of main hydraulic hose.
CerberaLM wow, glad everyone was ok
This guy and his jokes, lol.... always makes the videos fun to watch.
As Ray Liotta said in the movie "Goodfellas", "You're a Funny Guy!" Lol. Great vid, Thanks for sharing
Break downs suck! I'm glad it was only a hose and not the pump. Have a safe harvest!
I like your sense of humor.
I like it when you show the good the bad and the ugly!!!!
that's farming at it's best. it breaks you fix it and keep on going.
You know what they say...once you go red, you never go....wait, no one goes from green to red!
I know that this is a bit old but that was a hydraulic line, you have a hose at home, you use it to water your lawn when it's not snowing... Man I would love to come up there. I am an Aircraft Mechanic but I can work on those beautiful Green machines also. I wouldn't be able to stay long though I'm pretty sure that your Dad would string me up because you and I would be to busy laughing at each other to get any work done. On the bright side of that scenario, none of the equipment would be braking down as I can't drive when I get to laughing that hard!✈👨🔧🧰🚁🌾🌽🚜
I sincerely hope that this season is the most uneventful, most productive and profitable season you have ever had!!
It never fails the stuff don't break sitting in the barn no mater what color it is and the hydraulic oil is like a magnet in the dust plugs everything up.
Perhaps you could get something like a cordless blower - Makita make a very good small unit - would make it easier to clear the dust off the screens
Its surprising how much of a difference a clean rotary screen make. On one of our S680s this year we kept blowing the little drive belt on it and within minutes it was plugged and heating the engine
OH BOY HERE COMES ALL THE CASE IH COMMENTS! I'm a John Deere fan just an F.Y.I
Hahahaha this video was great. Definitely important to clean off the air filters. We've had to fix hydraulic hoses on our sprayer and its easy to take off but ya gotta go somewhere to get it fixed or get a new one that stinks.
Farmable I
We got some beans cut today about 8 semi loads but it's supposed to rain tomorrow hopefully don't great vid man Smile More God Bless stay safe guys 👍
We also have a 9650sts. Some days it runs non stop then some days it is stopped.
Just found your channel today and I already love it.
You're not the only one who had a breakdown my baler blew two bearings and that was a pain in the ass to replace
I recommend the new Holland combines as well as case because they usually fix themselves
We haven’t been having much luck with our stuff either! But we still won’t switch to case lol
That was Cool Both combines 2gether!! Love ur videos!!
Gotta drive Green to make the Green! Deere all the way!
I'm just watching all your videos from the first one you uploaded so I'm sorry for late comment but i love the combine fixes so if you can will you keep up the combine repairs if you have some
Captain Jeffrey John. Karma... I'm still laughing from yesterday!
Geez that could have been a fireball breakdown.
Edit. I jus looked at other comments, somebody else mentioned the Captain also. Ha
I think you would like the CASE/IH.
Great video! We just traded in our 9650 i kind of miss it until i run our S670!
Would like to see a video on your farm pick up trucks and how you use them. Nice video and good job on the fix.
glad to see it isnt just my old junk that breaks down.LOL but im good at fixing things. looks like you are too. but you dont get as much practice as me.
I probably wouldn't be as happy go lucky as you if I were having all those issues. Thanks for taking the time to post. Hope all goes well and you can stay running. I always say if man built it man can fix it.
it would be cool having a case with all your john deere,LOL i have loved JD since i was 4
So I’ve noticed them in a few of your combining videos but what is the purpose of the auger that standing up in the back of the grain tank. Never seen that in the combines around here
The dust combined with the oil is also a leading cause of combine fires correct?
Kevin Zeh probably. I washed off what I could!
Hope the yield is coming in good.
That farm network said my name my real name is scott cochran😂😂
The only Deere combines I like are the John Deere 70 series we run a 9770sts
I like red paint, but JD has a better combine overall.
Same thing happened with me with the new holland you should get a case IH and new holland
Where is your farm located and what do you usually plant?
Yes I’m glad you don’t have to buy a case!
Oil on the screen probably means oil on the radiator too...
We are switching to case. We have nothing but problems with Deere. Case is better even though it's cheaper, it rides smoother and pulls a lot better. At lease that's what I think.
You should buy a McDon header with the conveyor belt to bring the beans in instead of a auger because you are less likely to lose beans. I would say to get s John Deere conveyor header but they are really expensive and McDon makes a good header. Btw I am a John Deere man also so don't buy a case unless you want trouble
Shit Breaks when a Guy is Making a living.Good Video
A big Case IH would look good going up and down your fields,LOL
Mark Sinn I second that
i run all case in newholland
Caleb Herbert cause you've got good taste
Mark Sinn I do like the looks of those red machines! We have owned a couple in the past, just always been happy with Deere.
Guess it depends on the dealer as well. The nearest IH dealer is 30 miles away while theres a big JD dealers right here. Preety green right here,LOL
I had the main hydraulic pump quit, but it didn't leak externally.
deereboy8400 we had one quit about 10 years ago too. Just got to the end and couldn't raise the header...
Case is the only company we use in the family
I'm not a farmer or anything but whenever our tractor's hoses go bad, I always prefer to replace the entire hose because my thought is that if it has a hole in it... the hose has started to break down/dry rot/whatever, and if I were to just crimp a new end on it wouldn't last all that much longer. Am I wrong? I wouldn't mind saving some money...
Tim Wolf you're not wrong! We considered making a whole new hose but it seemed soft enough and it crimped well so we went with it.
That's it were getting a case....just kidding guys...lol
Buy a case lol glad you are switching
Not sure how far away your dealership is, but a big operation like yours ought to have a hydraulic hose machine in the shop. They save a lot of downtime! My old man has a machine and he doesn't use it much, but when he does he loves it.
Jeff Button we've considered that but it seems like it would be pretty spendy. Our dealership is only 10 miles away also, so it's not too bad.
MN Millennial Farmer yeah, I hear you on the cost. But downtime is worth something too. If this had happened on Saturday or in the evening you'd be glad to have the ability to get back up and running again. The good thing about having your own equipment for repairs is that the shop is always open! Just get the crimper, you can cut hydraulic hose with a chop saw with no problem.
@@MillennialFarmer sell the green I have red and no break downs.
So did you take it back to farm soap machine down then power wash?
Jim Smith I waited until I had to go back and fuel up, then I gave it a half-heartes, 10 minute wash. It will need that several times!
Y’all should get a 8230
I was wandering why you guys run a 9650sts next to a 9870sts it could run circles around it
Gregory Farms we just use the 9650 for soybeans. The 9870 is our main machine.
love the harvest humor. but seriously.... its time to get a new holland. an 8.90 would eat that toy you call a combine for lunch :P
Why do you only plant corn and soybeans?
Your videos are awesome and what part of Minnesota are you from
those big red machines are pretty nice :)
Keep On Keepin On my good brother I seen some of the comments on the case I'm cracking up at some of these people man but if anybody knows you knows there ain't nothing but Green in the barn that's what puts the Green in the pocket LOL always big thumbs up bro keep it safe keep them coming
New pump or hose plug
You’re videos are great man, thanks!
Can you maked more videos please
I love your video!!!
Those air cleaners really take a beating.
It would be good to have a service truck with a big air compressor on it so you could back-blow some of the dust off and keep going.
How are the yields doing on the beans? Thanks
Don Dixon about average. Not nearly as good as last year. Mid to upper 40s mostly.
One of our combines pumps BLEW up
If thats the CASE you shud buy a case of beer.ha ha ha ...lol
You could patch roads with hydro oil and bean dust. And you itch for a week afterwards too. Ain't farming great.
mirrorimage cattleco isn't that the truth!!
Try one they are really good
You bought a case of Hydraulic Fluid for sure.
Wow that was alot of bean dust caked on that screen
carlster vlogs she was plugged solid!
Don't even think about anything else but a Deere!
When one hose go the other hoses will go have close look at hoses and you won case IH it coming your way 😂
It knows you'd never replace it with a Case. Now, a Massey or Fendt ...???
You should look into getting an air reel attachment or whatever it is. On our combine it’s built into the head and it makes a huge difference
Zack Esper we have definitely thought about it and might consider doing that instead of investing in a draper head
"buy a case" thats what my dad whispers to our John Deere equipment so it doesn't break down. then he whispers to the case, "we're buying a New Holland" We run all sorts of equipment.
Was the the 8RT or the 9RT on the grain cart
Sam'schannel4250 8360. Pulled it like a dream in those hills!
Hey how about Gleaner. LOL
Love the channel. How many acres do y'all farm? Has CZcams monetized you channel yet?
Grew up farming and raising beef cows. Mainly silage and hay for feed. My folks lost the farm in the mid 90's so we moved to city. I'd give anything to have a little land again. A farm is definitely the best to raise kids. Keep it up bud.
Really like your videos. Keep 'em coming.
Ever notice that equipment mostly breaks down when you have a short window in the weather to get something done?!
thr8061 every time!
You know you want a Case IH! LOL
Never know for sure when breakdowns are going to happen most of the time
There are better and cheaper ways than buy a case if you would buy a case you go down a long way :D
that ending though :D
Nice combine anyway
Hey millennium farmer I am a. Green farmer too 😉 I like red maybe a red GMC pick up! But never Red machinery South jersey is green machine Country👍🏻 take care L C W 🐝
I had a neighbor who had the equipment to make hoses. He had that many people come to him to make hoses, he quit the farming and started a hydraulic shop.....
PA Farms I was thinking today that we should get a crimper and cutter
MN Millennial Farmer I think it would pay you guys with the equipment you have. If the hose blew Saturday afternoon or thanksgiving day you can just head to the shop. Plus your neighbors can benefit.
Where are u from in Minnesota
At least it was just a hose and not the pump
What app do you use on your iPad?
I live in Iowa and I am 14 do you have any input on how to get a farm job and what you look for in a employee? (if you have any)
claw buster just ask around. Farmers are very talkative between each other so if one needs help I'm sure he will spread the word to other farmers. As far as the work, be ready to work hard being young you'll have to do the crap jobs fore sure, but stay at it we've all been through it. Also, be ready to learn because even if you think you know a lot there is still so much to learn.
Thank you so much, this really helped!
Lol!!! Don't buy a case! 😂😂😋😋
Please buy a case hi I love those
Buy a gleaner lol
Samuel Staton silver seeders
great video thanks
Deere the only one left that doesn't have to put more than one name on their equipment!!!!
So what city are you stationed in, I live in Watkins
Jackson Graham I’m in silver lake 🤙🏻
It is Friday the 13th
