  • Hey there viewer who stumbled across this video
I finally found a proxy making process that I felt like would be great to show to everyone
This is something we have all probably done before at some point but to the nth degree
Instead of just writing on a card or printing out basic printer paper images as proxies
Why not go a step further and make your proxies look nice?
This process isn't going to be hard to pull off
I have very basic art and art program knowledge and I managed to get some proxies goin that I think are worth showing off
I have experimented with other methods in the past but sometimes simple is better
And boi is this process so much easier than proxies from scratch or de-inking cards
Once again if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll try to help out where I can and when I can

Word of advice when buying a printer-
Get yourself a good one if you're planning to print often or at higher quality
You wont consider just buying a new printer every time you run out of ink if the printer you are using is worth far more than the ink you are needing to buy
It wasn't mentioned in the video that much but here are the Self-adhesive photo paper brands I've used
They are hood in my book but once again the quality may be kind of meh to you unless you are wanting to make sure the proxy doesn't fall off whatsoever

I've used spray adhesive and a satin clear coat for my proxies...they come out fantastic...you have to use a jig to set the card in straight however.

Do you know which brand you used?
The spray adhesive I’ve used in the past was kinda meh. Granted it could have just been a bad can but yee.

@@RustinWW 3M super 77 I think. If that doesn't work for you try the 3m High Strength 90. Sticking power also may depend on temperature. Im in texas jfyi.

Have you ever considered trying to separate the front and the back from the life point cards? If card thickness is an issue, and it were possible to separate the front and the back of a card without too much issue, then that might be a good experiment for the future.

I have de-inked cards in the past which reduces the weight. I have considered trying a sanding method to rub another layer down. While FoW cards are definitely durable. Splitting layers might not be the easiest thing to pull off. During gameplay the thickness isn’t all that noticeable while shuffling (unless you proxy a lot of cards I bet) but it’s something that is worth trying again down the road yee
Probably not the easiest to be consistent at doing though
If I find a method that is easy to replicate I’ll try making a video for that
Come to think of it though
I should check the weights of foils and run the numbers to see if this method on a de-inked card base might be closer to the weight of a foil card
Or hell the thickness of the paper I use and the ink I rub off might be close enough
And it’s not like we can tell too much of a difference in weight while shuffling cards
I’ll put this on my to-do list for future projects yee
If I’m successful I’ll make a video for my process
