I find it curious when you say some design decision of yours have been questioned by your viewers and even controversial. I've followed you for years and have never been disappointed but rather very much inspired. YOUR backyard is STUNNING, a work of art. Thank you for showing and inspiring us. ❤
I totally agree!
Your backyard is a place of peace ❤❤
I agree 100%!
I totally disagree. I love Linda but I have over 40 years of graphic design and garden design experience and her current backyard and frontyard design is "Noise on the eyes". Too much stuff, no focal point and no logical path for the eyes. She lacks natural design instinct. But she does have plant knowledge.
@@TracyGiesler You on a roll I see. I will take my time to say to you AGAIN, that with ALL your knowledge YOU should get behind the camera and show us if you think you know so much. I think you lack basic HUMAN-BEING Instinct to NOT insult people you don't even KNOW. People like YOU are the EXACT reason I posted what I did. You my dear, need to take SEVERAL SEATS and zip it. I'd even go as far as you should be BLOCKED from commenting. You can tell your energy is just vile. We don't need that in our gardening community here. Have a blessed day, KAREN.
I love YOUR vision Linda for YOUR back living room. Would be nice if people would realize that you are taking us along on YOUR journey and NOT THEIRS.😉LOL Keep being you, Linda. I'm loving every minute. You have superb taste for beauty.🤩
Yikes! I love Linda, but cannot pretend that these gardens are not a mess. No structure, no focal points and the colour choices totally clash with the warm browns of her brick. She has great plant knowledge but no design sense.
@@TracyGiesler Why don't you get on CZcams and show us all how it's done then?? Your parents should have taught you that if you don't have something nice to say-don't say anything at all. It's HER GARDEN and HER design SENSE. NOT YOURS. You are just being RUDE if your comments to Linda are anything like your reply to mine. You could have just scrolled on by. Are you sure your name isn't KAREN? Remember--you reap what you sow. No need to put such negativity out into the world. We have enough of that these days. Perhaps you need to take more time to stop and smell the roses.
@@Blake.Cooperbest comment!👏🏻
Linda, I have been watching you for the last three years. You are constantly teaching me things. I live in a townhouse with a small yard, but I have learned from you to make the best of everything, and to be creative. Thank you for who you are, for your creativeness, for your honesty and also for having a great sense of humor. Please don’t ever change!
Get the hellebores in the ground maybe better when winter comes
👏 Linda you have breathed life into a dry and dusty landscape. It looks as if someone lives there now. Before was lifeless, now its alive and a place you want to be. Bravo 👏🌷🌷🌷🪴🪴
The red touches are so pretty! I like how the front garden and back garden are so different but, they both suit your home beautifully.
She has not considered the colour of her house brick. It is a major clash. Her umbrella red is wrong and fights with the pillows and the brick on her house. At the very least, she should get a black umbrella. The colour grey of her fence and highlight greys on her house do not compliment the red brown tones of the house. She should make the fence and highlights black or a brown black. The wood table top does not match the chairs and the grain of the wood is another source of "eye noise" fighting with the brick of herhouse and patio. I am very sensitive to poor design and it physically makes me anxious when she does her garden tours. I do feel bad telling you this as but Linda lacks basic design and colour training and lacks design instinct. She must avoid avoid certain reds and oranges as they clash with her brick. Yellow, corals, salmons, deep purples and blues would serve her better.I would suggest that she limit the number of different plants and try and create focal points from each angle and design around that. Embrace garden editing,
@@TracyGiesler YOU ARE A PIECE OF WORK, KAREN!! Would love to see what your garden looks like so I can compare.
My goodness! What a transformation Linda! It's just all so stunning 😍 And, you could not look overweight on your worst day. You look amazing and your outfits are always inspiring. 😊
Linda, as every episode closes , I always think “what will Linda do next”. I know you know already. And I can hardly wait. Thank you for sharing your love of nature in all its forms with all of us. Nothing but praise from my lips.
I agree!!
Linda, I hear your relief, satisfaction, and joy in the completion of the backyard. Some of us could not see your vision, but trusted the process, and wow! you knocked it out of the ball park. Bravo, stunning, and breathtaking!
Embrace garden editing. This is "noise on the eyes", lacking basis colour and design skills. There is no focal point from any angle. I know gardening is personal but the colours required for that house brick is corals and salmons (muddy pinks), blues, dark purples and yellows. The reds and oranges are an absolute clash to the house brick and an eye sore. Too many plants and topiary is best suited for gardens that have acres!!!! Not a postage stamp garden area with a million miniature structured balls and everything else tossed in. I know gardening is personal but I get physically anxious her garden tours because they are so chaotic!
It looks so warm and inviting. I love the table scape, the seating, the steps, the colors.
Absolutely incredible. Southern Living needs to do a story featuring Better Boxwoods and your before and after front and back yard. I love your taste and style.
You turned that desert of a backyard into an oasis. Whether some people like it or not it's your oasis and you do you. That's the most important thing.
The backyard is definitely a Linda vibe….beautiful!
You were obviously in the mood for change when you moved to this home and a blank garden. The back yard turned out wonderful. The back stoop, brick patio rug and brick garage really anchored the entire space. Now you get to play with all your boxwoods and pots and plants. I am sure it will just get better and better as it matures and fills in. Also, when we get a little older we want more enjoyment and less effort in our gardens. You have accomplished this perfectly.
Oh my goodness I absolutely love what you have done! The backyard “living room” is outstanding!!!!!! Well done Linda. I am so glad to know your Hubs loves it too!!!❤❤❤❤
Haha! My back gate also squeaks much louder and I don’t want to fix it for the very same reason!!!I always know when someone is coming in!!
My front gate screaks and it's handy to know if someone comes in.
Right! So silly that ANYONE would even care that it squeaks!
I want to call the kitchen raised planters Papa Bear, Mama Bear, & Baby Bear
A throwback to the old days...LOL
Your back "living room" LOOKS AWESOME LINDA!
🎉 It’s your* lovely private place to putter, entertain, and relax. May your garden continue to bless you! Thanks for sharing it with us
Oh brother! Who even CARES if the gate squeaks? It’s all fabulous, Linda. My Mama used to say that people that couldn't resist saying something negative were usually just jealous. I have NOTHING negative to say about your home and yards!!!! But I AM jealous-good...in a POSITIVE way. I'd just love to live in that sweet little haven. Wonderful job and thank you for your inspiration!!

How did that happen? Oops, sorry. Drooling, maybe? ❣❣
Linda, it’s spectacular! And I agree with Stewart. It was the first thing I thought…it looks like Linda!
I’ve also never understood the controversy. But boy, has all the hard work paid off. Congratulations to the entire team who worked so hard!
What a magical transformation from before to after!!! Its beautiful!! Have a blessed week!!
I absolutely love the table scape with the evergreen and the candle sticks.❤❤❤
Your backyard is brilliant! It is very much your signature style!💕💕
Both the front and backyard have been beautifully transformed by you. Well done! Looking forward to summer!
The back yard turned out STUNNING! Absolutely gorgeous! ❤❤❤❤❤
What a drastic change, from the before and after!! Absolutely stunning!! The backyard needs to be featured in a magazine!! ❤️
Featured in a magazine on what not to do. No focal points, no structure, chaotic and noise on the eyes. Her chosen red and orange colours clash with the house brick colours. She needs corals, salmons (brown pinks), blues, dark purples and yellow. Embrace garden editing. Limit plant choices and patterns. Eyes need some calm.
@@TracyGiesler You know I think you are correct! Too busy for me too, and not my colors at all. But a huge improvement from the bland “before yard”.
Your front yard is beautiful! But the back…it’s speaking my language!!! I love, love, love a beautiful secluded space that offers so many “rooms” to enjoy! I moved to my new-to-me home in Tulsa in December’23 and this is my year of creating all my new spaces inside and out and I’ve gleaned so much from your experiences. Thank you sharing your creative process. It’s helpful and so enjoyable to watch! ❤
Love the red umbrella!
I love the squeak on the gate it’s a free unexpected happy day surprise you have an unexpected pleasure!😎
Oh my gosh!!!! I’ve been so excited to see it!! I love everything!!!!
Every thing in the back yard is beautiful. I wasn’t expecting it to be a replica of your older home. You have done so much in such a short time
Thank you for the before and after photos! Wow!
Looks like paradise to me! 🌱🌸🌸🌱🌸🌸
Thank you Linda for sharing your back garden with us! It very much has the signature ‘Linda’ style, which makes it very special. Now the fun begins as you get to watch it mature and spend your time puttering in the garden. I look forward to seeing the seasonal changes and watching the space develop. You are always so inspiring! 💚
The backyard is stunning! I don’t understand how your design has been controversial. I’ve been watching from the beginning and have just been amazed and inspired by your design talent as well as your practicality. I also love the squeaky gate! Congratulations on a job well done and I wish you many beautiful memories to come in your beautiful garden.
Linda, remember when people are nannering on about your back yard, it is just one full year old, not decades, like the one we saw in the other home, I am so amazed by the transition in this short amount of time. Also it is easy to be a quarterback from our arm chairs. I only wish my yard looked so put together. It is you, you go girl!
The backyard is charming. I’ve never been a fan of “ hot” colors, however you’ve got me reconsidering. Great job!
The backyard looks just beautiful, and I like it very much as an outdoor living space. While all the changes are so pretty, the landing with the steps may be the most transformative. So lovely!
Linda you might consider removing that existing metal wire gate and installing a 6 foot locking gate. The view from the alley makes you susceptible to intruders. Anyone can easily jump that gate. And being on a corner makes your property more vulnerable. I guess I'm just speaking from the perspective of someone who was married to a Chicago cop for 40 years . When we lived in Chicago we did that on our property, as we lived in a brick bungalow so we had an iron gate put up in front and the back gate which led out to the alley we put a 6 ft there.
Your back yard is stunning and I love the no grass look! It is welcoming and fabulous!
Linda, I can’t say enough your backyard is absolutely beautiful. The before and after pictures are remarkable, you enjoy the fruits of your design.
All looks fantastic. I loved your old garden and yes, this one is different but equally beautiful.
I’m afraid if I ever walked into your backyard I would never leave! It is so beautiful and welcoming. Kudos to you Linda on all of your lovely ideas coming to fruition! Such a sense of accomplishment to have done all of this in a year!I remember many moons ago having such a yard where I had planted a beautiful drooping Birch tree down a pathway where I used to sit and read
and overlook all of my beautiful plants. 🐝🏡😍👏
Looks so lovely, one more addition, a fountain. The sound of water is so relaxing.
Oh Linda, Linda, I love the transformation of your backyard so much!!!!! So lovely!
Yes, Linda...I see the vision you have for your backyard! What an amazing, beautiful transformation in one year and I cannot wait to see how your garden/living room fills out into your full vision. I was first inspired as a beginning gardener by you during the pandemic, and thanks to you have since grown to love the peace and tranquility living the garden life gives me. I remember once you told us (while in your 30+ year garden at the other house) there is power in a mature garden. I trust your other lush garden did not at first look like it did when I came upon your channel. And now I feel excited to watch as your new garden matures into your signature landscape I love so that I can have hope for my own fledgling one. Thank you for the wealth you bring gardeners like me who need the experience you bring weekly. Kudos for a job well done.
I too found Linda's channel during the pandemic and I've followed along each week since. Linda's channel is so encouraging to me and I love everything about her gardens! Way to go Linda and Stewart!!
Finally red being used in ~the garden… seems most gardeners shy away from red in flowers and materials. I love red and use it whenever I can. Beautiful. Great accomplishment.
Love red geraniums
Beautiful! I love "before and afters" (and I love Mary Tyler Moore....lol) Thank You!
Who wouldn’t like this!? Simply stunning Linda.👏🏻🥰🙏🏻
Your garden is so beautiful in 1 year you have done miracles to how it looks, your back yard is so gorgeous and not as much work for you as before but just as lovely in a different way. Those stairs have made such a difference no wonder your so proud of your garden 🪴 your vision coming to fruition
Well Linda you’ve truly excelled with your cottage!!! Absolutely beautiful your vision has produced a home that you & ‘hubbs’ can enjoy both socially & privately and I wish you all the happiness in the cottage it’s a credit to you 😊🪴🌿🌹well done a master of your craft xx
I think the wood table is beautiful. It's a lot warmer looking
I agree at first I thought ugh, but I like it 😊
What a transformation in one yearr! Now you can relax, enjoy, putter, jushh, clip, pinch, weed, and plant to your heart's content. I like how you have mostly hot colors (red, orange, yellow) in the backyard, and cool colors (white, purples, pinks) in the front. Enjoy!
You have the magic touch. Congratulations
What an engaging and delightful back yard. You can invite me anytime!!! I think you knocked it out of the park. Loved seeing the before and after photos. Love the tablescape-especially that tree. And yes, it does look like you.
The backyard reveal was as wonderful as I thought it would be when finished. I know you and your family are loving every minute of being in the new area. Another home run for your vision and design.
Your back yard is gorgeous! I think it is perfectly balanced, especially colorwise. I am anxious to see everything fill in.
Inspiring❤🎉 Linda has a very good taste 👌! She is a lady of elegance
Linda who gives a flip flop about dissenting opinions? I've always been taught that if you can't see something nice, don't say anything at all. Your two gardens are as different as night and day but they're so beautiful in every way! Thank you for letting us walk with you during this whirlwind garden installation.
Just so you know…I painted my house last month using your cottage grey formula and couldn’t be more pleased! Really makes my lush green landscape pop! 🙏🏽 💕
Happy Memorial Day Steph Family! Steph you are such an amazing person, Mother and wife! You are such an incredible example to your children. They are so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother that's so giving, loving and always baking everything they eat from scratch! You make everything look so easy Steph, but I know it's not! I love watching you and wishing I could be like you! Thank you for sharing! 🇺🇲🎉❤️🙏
The back yard garden and sitting area is beautiful. Love the red and orange colors.
They clash with her house brick colour big time. Too much and requires some major garden edits.
I absolutely love how beautiful EVERYTHING looks and uncovered! I am not a fan of everything being under a gazebo or pergola. You embrace the beauty of OPEN SKY❤
Love your grdens front and back!
Oh my goodness, when the gate squeaked I thought to myself "I hope Linda doesn't fix that, it's charming!" Glad to hear you will not. I'm not sure which one I like the best, the front or the back. It's all so curated, so you! Thank you for taking us along on this journey!
Oh my goodness Linda, you have created a breathtaking paradise. Stunning ❤❤
You have the gift of a designers eye. Love all your choices for your beautiful garden/ patio room.
Just recently discovered you on a collaboration with Jim Putnam, when he visited your garden. The two of you make great cohosts, but I love watching, listening, and learning from your individual knowledge and perspectives on garden life. Thank you for being so passionate, you are a gift. 🪴❤️ David in Atlanta
TBH- at first I was really missing your old house, but now I see the vision. I cannot wait for the future to see what you’ll create!!
We all should be growing some food. I think that’s great you added these planters.
You did a wonderful job with your new home! It fits you, just beautifully. After all the years in your other home it was time for a beautiful change.
I’m glad you have a charming backyard area, that’s private just for you ,family, friends ! I think the most impressive area is,the oval hard scape rug ,as such. But,I can’t forget to mention your fabulous ( Gone With The Wind) back steps. Everything looks great Linda!
It is wonderful to see your backyard vision come to fruition. It looks like an amazing area to work in and enjoy the fruits of your design and labor.
I love your backyard design
Stewart, your photography is spectacular ✨it’s so impactful seeing the before and after views.
My favorite area is the pot rack…darling with the seating area. I love bringing/creating family areas. Seating is very important. Thank you! One more thing you brought up…shadows also brings lovely drama in the garden ❤
How delightful it is to see the final result. Truly lovely. You are so gracious with responding to the comments of the viewers. 😊. I would like to see how you have organized/planned your drip irrigation in the backyard.
How could anyone criticize or question your skills, vision, etc. is beyond me. I love watching the magic happen. What a pleasure to watch and learn from you!
Love love love your whole garden! I loved your fairytale garden and am so inspired and in love with this one too! Thank you Linda for taking us along on the before and after of your back garden just stunning! ❤🎉😊
I love everything about it!!! Great vision and the way it came together!!
I think your wood top for your table looks better in your new back dining.
Hi Linda, I love your back living area. I knew it would be wonderful. Actually it is more beautiful than I was expecting. I love what you do. You are very inspiring. Thank you for what you do on your channel, you Stewart, and Leah. It's been exciting watching you over the years. Thank you. Kay Wilson.
The grey paint formula would be great! Thank you. The backyard looks beautiful and this time next year it will be fully grown and be amazing! It’s all happened so quickly ❤️
I love the color palette for the back yard. It makes it so distinct from the front. Such a gorgeous outdoor living area.
What a transformation! ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It’s been a treat watching your vision come to fruition, step by step!
Your back yard is perfect for you and your husband, beautiful!!!!!!! I am in NE Ohio, my tulips are just starting to bloom, we are having warmer weather now but a lot of rain. Next week looks dry and 70's , can't wait to get out and start organizing......
Beautiful living back yard space 🌿
I love that plants hospital pronounced 😁
Here in south of Sweden no tulips are flowering yet but in town daffs are out. In my garden north of town no daffs flowering either. As far as I know as we are in town and the weather is really warm, warmer than usual. So maybe tonight when we get to the house the daffs are flowering….
Beautiful. I've learned so much from washing you Ms Linda. Keep being you
That backyard is scrumptious!!!
Oh BTW, I love a good squeak whether on a gate or a old fashioned screen door!!❤
LISTEN LINDA😂😂😂it looks fantastic, warm, inviting, charming, magical, I really Love the puttering space/potting area….so so fun! Thanks for sharing your vision…ENJOY. I take what I can and apply it to my own space within my limited budget, but believe me you have influenced me! I have 3 double ball topiary’s I’m my back yard, 2 rosemary topiary, a cone shaped lemon cypress, oh boy thank you very much!
I’m loving the small gardens so much! Yours is so charming and cozy!
Bravo!!!!! Thank you so much for taking us along for the ride. You’re amazing. Enjoy it.
No mowing! That's my esthetic! Well done, Linda. And keep thinking about those security ideas.
Wow Linda! What a well thought out oasis for you and Hubs. Lovely yet practical. Sometimes less is more and you have certainly shown that.
Thank you for sharing your design and heart!
What a beautiful livable space. May you receive many blessings in your new abode. 💐💖💐
Linda i love everything you have done. I pray that this spring i can start a front and back yard. Love, love, love all your lovely home and yard. ❤
Linda it’s an absolute little paradise!
Your garden room is lovely. The design is also practical. I hope you get a lot wonderful times there.
Love the red tulips with your umbrella
Best lesson you teach is by example that is to do what makes you happy ❤
